"In the immense universe, are there any other beings?" "Where did human beings come from, where will human beings go to?" My interests in the dimensions of the universe, in other beings from other planets, and in nature's mysteries were intense ever since I was in school. I looked for answers to these questions by reading many books, but without success.

If I wanted to "emerge unstained from the filth" and be able to distinguish righteousness from evil and good from bad I had to strengthen my will and be sober-minded. I had to watch my words and deeds. I had to maintain my moral standards and conscience, try to be a good person and be kind toward others.

I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. Dafa has benefited my mind and body and given me a new life. Before I became a practitioner, I committed wrongdoings in the area of lust and desire. After I studied the Fa, I understood how to become a good person and an even better person.

She often says: "I started late. If others study one lecture of Zhuan Falun, I should study two. If others practice the exercises once, I should practice twice. If others save one person, I should save two. Otherwise, I cannot catch up with others." She is busy every day.

Teacher has repeatedly told us the importance of studying the Fa, "No matter how difficult your environment is, no matter how busy you get, you cannot forget to study the Fa. You must study the Fa, because it is the absolute, most fundamental guarantee of your improvement." (Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.)

However, maintaining an unaffected mind is difficult. We often want to find solutions to resolve our tribulations instead of searching inward for our own problems. Actually, the only solution is to upgrade xinxing. We have to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to pass tribulations.

The Public Security Bureau has made a specialty out of arresting Falun Gong practitioners, kindhearted people who practice Truth-Compassion-Tolerance. When public security officers abuse their power and murder innocent people, society takes the wrong direction, moral values deteriorate and criminal activities rise.

"Big Brother, it's a predestined relationship for me to ride on your bus, so I am giving you this truth clarification note and hope you can cherish it and drive safely. You can show it to more people and you will receive blessings." The driver picked up the note and said very happily, "I won't give it to anybody--I will keep it as a treasure."

One day she suddenly understood that the reason her mother-in-law treated her badly was because she had mistreated her mother-in-law in a previous life. It was karmic retribution. As soon as she understood, she decided to bring her mother-in-law into her home and take care of her.

I also understood clearly that it did not matter if I attended Teacher's class or not, genuine cultivation is all that matters. However, deep in my heart I still held a very strong attachment. I felt that practitioners who walked beside Teacher had good inborn quality and a predestined relationship.

Teacher said, "Fear can cause one to make mistakes, and fear can cause one to lose a predestined opportunity. Fear is a death trap on a human being's journey toward divinity." ("Pass the Deadly Test") Let's cultivate away our attachment to fear so that we can do better in validating the Fa and saving sentient beings. Let's strive forward on the path of godhood.

Now that I returned to the path of Fa-rectification cultivation, I thought about those who have taken the path of evil enlightenment, and felt sorry that they became lost. I hope that they can return to cultivation path as soon as possible. I went looking for them and tried to talk to them, yet it was so difficult. I've tried my best but to no avail.

After I had learned the Fa, I changed my view. I vigorously participated in doing the exercises and studying the Fa. I always told people how Falun Gong is good, and I wanted them to practice it. It taught me how to be a good person, and it improved my health.

As soon as he started practicing Falun Gong he began to shoulder the sacred mission of validating the Fa. Miraculously, the illnesses in his legs and back disappeared in the process of studying and validating the Fa. Having an illness-free body made him believe Dafa more firmly.

When the tribulation comes, if one is able to elevate their xinxing (character), this is great. If not, it only shows that one has an attachment; a strong one. After I realized this, I thought to myself, "Should I just keep getting upset about the tests that I failed or should I get rid of the attachments?" The answer was obvious.

In the midst of being persecuted, there are losses to validating Dafa and saving sentient beings. Therefore, Master has told us in multiple lectures that we need to pay attention to safety. However, some practitioners treat "not being persecuted" as the starting point from which to consider problems and the baseline of cultivation.

I performed to get attention and recognition, which is absolutely unacceptable! I have stopped doing that. But now I face this show-off mentality again when I am among friends. When we talk together, I show how tough I am. This is the same attachment; only it manifests itself in a different way.

I said to Master Li in my heart, "Master Li, please save me." Then I fell asleep. The next morning, when I woke up, I felt my whole body was light and relaxed and I could even get out of bed to cook for my son. I was very grateful to Master Li and told my son to return the tickets. I would remain faithful to Master Li and Dafa.

I turned back and followed after him, but I could not see him because there were so many people on the street. After about ten minutes, I suddenly saw him in front of a shopping centre. I was really happy and thankful to Master for giving me another opportunity. I told him right away about the need to withdraw from the CCP (Chinese communist party). He understood what I said and was happy to do it.

When my mother-in-law was illegally arrested for practising Falun Gong and my home was ransacked, I left home for a week due to fear. After I returned home, fear kept bothering me. I told myself that the fear was not me and that fearing persecution was in fact asking for persecution.

My family environment was where my shortcomings were really exposed. For many years I had been complaining that my husband did not do enough housework, that he spent a lot of money, and that he did not talk to me nicely.

I remember that once I had a conflict with a fellow practitioner. At that time, I couldn't stop thinking about how bad this practitioner was in my mind. However, I knew it was not me who was thinking those negative things, so I rejected those thoughts. All of a sudden, I came to see the deep attachment of my selfishness. Subsequently, those bad thoughts disappeared.

In fact, there is a bigger attachment behind the pursuit of comfort, and that is selfishness. It's the nature of every life in the old universe, including Dafa disciples. What are we cultivating for? Isn't it to get rid of the nature of the old universe -- selfishness, and to become selfless lives of the new universe?

My husband has a job and cannot help me much with the work. I have to work non stop all year. But, I never forget my mission - to save sentient beings. For years, I have distributed truth clarification materials to ten villages. Whether it is hot summer or cold winter, nothing can interfere with me. I distribute fliers, brochures, DVDs, cards and Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to every home.

She was obviously moved and said, "Big sister, I withdraw, I was a member of the CCP Youth League." Therefore, I helped her and her daughter withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. I also told them about the goodness of Falun Dafa and reminded them to memorize "Falun Dafa is good." Before we departed, I said, "I hope you and your daughter have a bright future." Tears came to her eyes as she said, "Thank you big sister, and best wishes for you too."

Several times afterwards I complained to my husband, "If I were not practicing Falun Gong, I would not be so tolerant. They should take a turn and walk with the kids." Although I said I would do things according to Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, I still felt unfairly treated and even felt justified.

My cousin listened attentively and kept nodding in agreement. Finally he said, "I did not know that so many things already happened before April 25, 1999. It seems the CCP was setting things up to frame Falun Gong. The media's propaganda is really misleading!"

When I looked inside, I found an attachment: I like to get things, to acquire things. Isn't that a heart of seeking self-interest? Isn't it a dirty, selfish heart? I thought I could put down self interests calmly, because when I faced tribulations, I did not care for positions and titles.

I observed that this fellow practitioner's body swung back and forth while doing the seated meditation and this practitioner also often appeared to be on the verge of falling asleep. So I pointed out the problems. However, this fellow practitioner told me that I had the same issues while I was doing the sitting meditation.

Some practitioners realized that it was not good to read the Fa too fast. But they also said when they read the Fa quickly, their thoughts were not distracted. However, when they read the Fa slower, their thoughts were easily distracted. After sharing these experiences, practitioners understood that this is the wrong way to do Fa-study.

Before the persecution started, my mother was practicing Dafa but was not diligent. I wanted my father to practice, too, but my mother always joked about it in front of him, "He won't practice unless he gets an incurable disease." I didn't like the joke, but I also didn't realize what was wrong with it.

Practitioners, if possible, should try to be involved in exposing the local persecution cases and make truth-clarification materials that target specific cases. Everyone needs to clarify the facts of the persecution at every opportunity. The projects to rescue practitioners need to be well-coordinated and we must walk every step in Fa-rectification righteously.

Although many times I took the opportunity to clarify the truth to the girls, and persuaded them and their friends to quit the CCP (Chinese communist party) and its associated organizations, I didn't go for the purpose of clarifying the truth, but out of lust, curiosity, pressure, and human attachments.

What had happened? Someone told Nana that these people were Falun Gong practitioners. Just because they were determined to follow their own beliefs, they were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party and so lost their freedom. Nana felt that this world was really unbelievable. How could this kind of thing happen?

Though Teacher has made it very clear, still there are practitioners who do not pay attention to safety and security issues. For example, when a practitioner was told to pay attention to the security of his cell phone, he said, "Don't worry. With strong righteous thoughts, nothing will happen."

Master has told us that there are no role models in cultivation. In the process of exposing the evil and clarifying the truth, other than the things that we need to do together, everyone should walk their own path. Instead of learning from the Fa, some practitioners only look at others. They don't know how to take the Fa as the teacher and use the Fa to evaluate things.

She said, "The villagers are always busy in the evening, so we started to play the tapes of Teacher's lectures at 5:00 a.m. There were approximately twenty or thirty people attending the seminars including a mother and daughter-in-law, with a child along. At that time, I only knew that Falun Gong was very good; I didn't realized that it was cultivation practice."

When something bad happened, how did I think about it? Did it come from an ordinary person's thinking? By going through this thought process, I found that I was not complaining about others anymore. On the contrary, I felt as if I really appreciated the other party and thought about what they were going through.

One needs to genuinely cultivate the Fa, take the Fa as the greatest and most important in one's life, and assimilate oneself into the Fa, and only in this way can one succeed in cultivation. So what we often refer to when we talk about "obtaining the Fa" is perhaps, in a strict sense, just "entering the door."

Silence reigns at 4:00 am. Everything is calm and quiet, and my family members are not disturbed. If I do the first four sets first and then do the meditation, my mind usually calms down quickly. After I work my legs into the double lotus position, I can feel my entire body surrounded by a great energy field.

When Mr. He went to Hong Kong to visit family, he received a copy of Zhuan Falun from his brother. Mr. He said, "After reading the book once, I knew that this is what I want." He said Zhuan Falun answered many of his questions about life. After returning to Canada, he continued to read the book and learned the exercises by following along with a videotape.

We complain because we are too narrow-minded, have an impure mind, and fail to view an issue from others' perspectives. Being tolerant and purging our ego is a matter of reaching the required realm. Getting to that place is what we need to cultivate.

Through that trip during the Mid-autumn Festival, I also found many attachments within me: being jealous of those who are better than me, a competitive mentality, fame and self-interest, vanity concerning my own reputation, selfishly hoping to get returns after being good to others, etc

I spent over an hour explaining the facts to them about the wonderfulness of Falun Gong, and I exposed the vicious lies on TV. Zhang listened intently, and asked to borrow my copy of Zhuan Falun. The next time I met him, he said, "As soon as I finished reading Zhuan Falun, I felt my whole heart lighten up. My wife warned me about safety, but I told her I would insist on practicing. I have made up my mind not to listen to her on this matter!"

As I did not argue with him even though he had wronged me, it seemed as though I had tolerated him. After I calmed down and thought about it carefully, I realized this incident did not happen without a reason. We learn from the Fa that if a practitioner runs into conflict, it is definitely that the practitioner has an attachment to let go.

Mr. Xu said that after practicing Falun Gong, he changed his bad habits and character so much that his colleagues and his boss were willing to talk to him and have dinner with him. His family atmosphere is getting more harmonious as well. He now understands that he should use compassion to teach his children.

Liu Yuan has been practicing Falun Dafa for twelve years. Whenever she is asked how she started practicing, she smiles happily, "It was such a lucky coincidence. I feel so lucky every time I talk about it."

"Being practitioners of Falun Gong, you guys are really great. If anyone dares to mess with you guys in the future, I'll be the first to get in their way." The practitioner replied, "If you can't find anyone else in the village for a task, try giving us a call." That same year, the village went through some big snowstorms. Practitioners came out again to shovel the snow, winning the good opinion of everyone in the village.
