One woman hung up the phone out of fear as soon as she heard that the call was from Taiwan and that Falun Gong was mentioned. We called again and this time a gentleman answered. After he heard from us that anti-torture exhibitions are being held in many countries, that many people in Western countries know Falun Gong is being persecuted in China, and that many people support Falun Gong, he told us with joy that he is also a Falun Gong practitioner.

We still need to further expose the persecution and rescue incarcerated fellow practitioners. More importantly, we cannot be attached to who is in power and other things of ordinary society, because our path of validating Dafa is the greatest and most solemn, and is not determined by a certain leader of state in ordinary society. We cannot rely on ordinary people even slightly.

There was a thought in my mind: “The three local practitioners did not seem to participate in handing out the leaflets. I should have involved them in the activities.” I was shocked to realise that the scenes in the dream had reflected my actual situation. When I arrived at the fork of the road, I became reluctant to travel alone. When somebody guided me to resume my journey, I rejected to let go my attachment. Not to advance is to go back.

When facing everything, if we truly don't have any personal notions or self-interest in mind, then we are considered selfless and are assimilating to the characteristic of the cosmos, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Others are capable of sensing this. The things we do under such conditions will naturally have a good effect. That is indeed letting go of one's own self and being responsible for one's self and others. I deeply realised that only by being truly selfless can we be clear away obstacles and resolve everything.

Our time is tight. After finishing doing one thing, we often need to do another; all day long we are so busy and rushed that we take care of one thing and lose sight of another. Thus, it is even more so that we should we practise our exercises well in order to have ample energy to carry out our tasks. Therefore, I would like to remind practitioners who do not practise the exercises or who have not practised the exercises for a long period of time to understand from the Fa the importance of doing the exercises.

My home is near the Chinese Consulate in Toronto, and my path of showing the truth about Falun Dafa starts here every day. After more than a thousand days and nights and many difficulties, I have persevered through four severe winters and summers, and persisted through several cycles of spring, summer, autumn and winter. This site is like my home, and I go there to relieve other practitioners when I have a little bit of extra time. If possible, I send forth righteous thoughts there four times a day. I would like to share my experiences with you.

I think we shouldn’t treat the three things like tasks, but we should comprise it into every single moment, every single thought and every single thing we do. Only in this way can we fully utilise the time that we have, remove our attachments and be able to accomplish our tasks in the most efficient manner.

Cultivation in the past was passive, but the cultivation of Falun Dafa is up to our own initiative. We are constantly assimilating to the Fa. If we only passively endure the tribulation whenever it appears, our cultivation would be no different with that of the past. Today, in the evil environment when Falun Dafa practitioners are cruelly tortured and people are poisoned, silence is actually indulgence of the evil persecution.

If those who practise Falun Dafa do well, people will say: "See how good Falun Dafa practitioners are, and how high their virtue is." This will spread widely from one to many people. This in and of itself is an act of upholding Dafa. If we don't do well, we may cause damage.

She sold me a ticket for fifty yuan and led me directly to my seat. I learnt later that this lady was a stadium employee. The seat she sold me was in a good spot, where the hockey players rested. I had a long wait after I took my seat so I chatted with the lady. She had bought the ticket for herself but she said she could not live up to Teacher's standard, though she knew Falun Gong is really good. I remember her name was Zhu.

The literal meaning of “Validation” is to prove genuineness. When Falun Dafa practitioners validate the Fa they are doing so to prove to the people in the world the truthfulness, wonderfulness and magnificence of Falun Dafa by our words and deeds and at the same time, to expose the lies being spread by former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and his clique.

At the entrance to The Hague International Court more and more people pro-actively came to our practice site to understand the facts. On several occasions I found the whole square packed with touring buses. Numerous Chinese tourists were unwilling to board their buses though urged by their guide. It wasn’t until we had finished the five sets of exercises that they would stop taking pictures or taping us.

There seems to be a need to discuss our methods and experiences with regards to talking to Westerners specifically. Since most Westerners come from a quite different background than Chinese, when we clarifying the facts about Falun Gong there are often various questions that arise. Similarly, there are sometimes misunderstandings, and these are often different than the misunderstandings Chinese tend to frequently have.

Some practitioners have not cultivated solidly for a long time. They have been cultivating while holding on to their fundamental attachments. They have participated in Falun Gong activities with a lot of human thoughts. They have been tied to and led by their fundamental attachment of pursuit. So their actions of validating Dafa were not sacred. Instead, they kept on making mistakes and causing losses. They have stumbled again and again, but are still in a foggy state.

If there were more tolerance in the human world, there would be fewer tragedies. If there were more tolerance among Falun Gong practitioners, more losses could be avoided. If practitioners cannot tolerate others, then it is meaningless to talk about compassion.

Was her main consciousness aware when she put the broken glass in the pancake? Wasn't it arranged by the old forces? Don't we need to negate the arrangements by the old forces? Therefore I sent out one thought, "I will not hate you for the bad things you have done to me. I do not consider it to be your fault. I will not acknowledge what you have done because I will only remember your merits and the good things you have done for me.

When bad thoughts started to arise towards my view on cultivation, these were all taken advantage of by the old forces and greatly magnified. I have found that any attachment is like a free pass for evil to interfere with us. I again fell on this issue for a while and my cultivation took a dive. Since then my cultivation really went up and down. My attachment really reflected my attachments to comfort and selfishness.

Experience told us that we would not have time to talk even after the event because the audience would leave shortly after the performances were over. Wouldn't we end up just entertaining everyday people? If we do things according to ordinary people's mindset, no matter how much we do, we will not achieve the effect of saving sentient beings We will only be good persons amidst ordinary people.

I felt that I could not do what I wanted to do. Even though I kept on sending forth righteous thoughts and even looked inside myself for problems, I did not feel any relief. When I was about to doze off reciting the Fa-rectification verses, I enlightened to something suddenly. For the past four to five days, my physical state had not been good. The fundamental reason is that I did not pay enough attention to sending forth righteous thoughts.

Looking inside, I found a series of notions, such as worry, wanting to rely on others, and selfishness, among others, all mixed together. My heart was not pure. I asked myself, "Why hadn't I thought about going to the newspaper and telling them the truth facts?" Each different thought brings about a huge difference in consequences. One thought has brought out and exposed my notions and incorrect mentality.

I thought that I had taken the loss and gain with regards to image and self interest very lightly, but when I dug deeper, I realised that I should also have given up the losses and gains with regards to image and self interest involved in participating in Falun Gong activities. I have also realised that I have more tribulations when I have not studied the Fa well. When I can do the three things better and have strong righteous thoughts I cannot be interfered with.

To show the true facts about Falun Dafa, practitioners have even set up media outlets, making efforts in all aspects. But when different ideas occur that cause arguments, which can be seen as the inevitable problems and is a crucial element in our cultivation, some practitioners are unable to reach an agreement because of their individual attachments. Dafa work and individual cultivation are affected by the lack of a thorough understanding of the Fa and the impracticality of the ideas.

I will never forget the first time I practised the Falun Gong exercises. It was in Hillhead library. I learnt about the classes from a leaflet. On the front of the leaflet, the words ‘Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance’ were printed. At the time I never paid much attention to these words. What attracted me to the practice were the words – ‘Suitable for all ages’, ‘Relieves stress’, ‘Increases energy levels’, ‘Improves health’, and ‘Free and easy to learn’. These were exactly the very things in my life, which I needed.

In the beginning, my understanding of the term “choice” was quite limited. In this maze of human society, people face two choices whether to believe in the propaganda issued by former Chinese President and dictator Jiang Zemin to develop hared towards Falun Dafa or to rationally look at both sides to see that Falun Gong is actually just a peaceful cultivation practice. This choice determines their future.

No matter whether it’s the power of evil or the power of justice, they all form their own complete system. Our local activities should also act in accordance with the current cosmic climate. At present those Falun Gong practitioners in New York are holding torture exhibitions on the streets everyday, shouldn’t we also increase our local activities and place more emphasis on doing the three things well?

During the competition, our group cheered the loudest. When the match ended and the team from China had won, the team members greeted the spectators. Attracted by our cheering, one member turned to look in our direction and she was suddenly dumbfounded. We knew that she saw the words Falun Dafa. Thus, not only did she know that there were people practising Falun Gong overseas, but even Western people were practising it. Those who practice Falun Gong also cheered for them and supported them.

Despite what one says, what matters in the end depends on what one can truly achieve. I thought about my past. When I was studying the Fa, I occasionally had doubts about a certain sentence. When sending forth righteous thoughts and doing other Dafa work, I also had doubts such as, "Will this really work? What if something goes wrong?" I never felt that I lacked faith in Dafa, but on that day I was shocked.

Although African countries are generally poor, their legal systems mirror the western systems in form and substance. In contrast to China, the news media and legal practices are relatively independent of governmental functions. If we do well in spreading Falun Gong and clarifying the truth about the persecution, especially to the legal sector, then this lawsuit may not be the only one filed in the African countries.

The news travelled like lightning throughout the village. Soon, one villager after another came running from field and home to Mr. Yao's house to explain to the police that Mr. Yao Wanglai was the best person in their village; that he was honest and kindhearted, observed discipline and always obeyed the law. Even the head of the village government stood up to the police and vouched for Mr. Yao's character as a rare and good person. Not only did the police ignore all the testimonials, they became increasingly aggressive toward the villagers.

I realised that I did not want to face any hardships nor take any responsibility. I did not want to do many things nor to be too tired, and so on. All in all, I just wanted to cultivate in the way I used to do while I was a student, which was very comfortable as I had a lot of time for myself. However, cultivation is so serious, with a heart that seeks comfort, how can I say I am a cultivator?

that is why eliminating egotism and selfishness should be done throughout the entire process of practice and Fa-rectification. In the process, egotism and selfishness is being eliminated little by little, one level after another. A little bit of it is eliminated here but there is still some left there; a little bit is eliminated in this level but there is still more in the next level. Only by constantly eliminating it will we reach Perfection.

She replied, "The important practitioners have all gone to Congress to clarify the facts. We, the second rate practitioners, are the only ones left. Nevertheless, this activity is going rather smoothly." Although it was just a joke, the problems reflected here deserve our attention. Everyone is cultivating in Dafa; since when have we had ranks? Yet the notion of rank has become very common among practitioners, with some regions being worse than others in this respect.

In Western societies, many people give more weight to form and pay less attention to the inner meanings of things. They over-emphasise the value and pursuit of the individual. People will see such problems in individual practitioners. To a practitioner, the purpose of exposing one's problems is to provide an opportunity to get rid of them as soon as possible. If instead of eliminating them, we try to cover them up, or even try to paint them as good, it will only have a negative effect when validating Dafa.

We noticed more and more passers-by in the pedestrian zone. They were clapping their hands, smiling, waving and showing their delight with heartfelt attentiveness. Some walked alongside the practitioners in the parade, as if they couldn’t wait to learn all about it and the reason for this wonderful parade. We even noted that, within ten minutes, the police officers who had held an attention position relaxed and displayed a friendly attitude.

A different performance would result in different effects. I remember one practitioner was performing the part of a victim of the hanging torture in Washington DC. Although she was being tortured, her calmness, firmness, and nobility moved many passersby. Many journalists and audience members took pictures of her.

But as I got more and more busy with activities related to Falun Gong, as the interference that I suffered from the old forces seemed to become less and less, and as my living and financial condition improved more and more, I paid less and less attention to Fa study. Then, even though I seemed to be busy the whole day, I found that I was doing much less work and was more tired than when I was consistently studying the Fa every day.

Although there was not a "good" in the banner of "Falun Dafa," the shiny golden words meant "good" by themselves! "Falun Dafa is good" was designed to target the propaganda and defamation inside China. If it was a parade only for Falun Dafa or if we were in front of a Chinese consulate, then we should display the "Falun Dafa is good" and "Global Trials on Jiang Zemin" banners.

I also saw that I had a very selfish attitude regarding the cases I proofread. I would only volunteer to help when I had a lot of free time and I would set for myself a “quota” of how many cases I would do each day. If I reached that amount, I was content with myself and didn’t ask for more cases. I was treating the proofreading as a chore and did not feel any responsibility for the project as a whole.

The Communications Team is made up of technical professionals. Many of us are not very good at communicating. From ordinary people’s standpoint, this may be why we did not communicate well with each other. Earlier, some team members often had disagreements on the priority of different projects. The lack of communication and our attachments of jealousy and thinking our own ideas are the only correct ones turned the disagreements into conflicts. Since we are all technical experts, competing with each other on technical knowledge became the main attachment.

I found that the Dafa materials were not put in good order when stored in the garage; banners, SOS T-shirts, and videotapes were everywhere. Upon one practitioner's suggestion, we tidied things up. In my opinion, the Dafa materials, banners, and SOS T-shirts are all purchased with money that practitioners scrimped and saved to get. Every Dafa practitioner should cherish those items. We all know to take good care of our Falun Dafa books. The same holds true for Dafa materials, banners, and videotapes. We should cherish everything related to Dafa.

If each person can spend one hour to call one or two government offices or organisations, the cumulative effect will be immeasurable. Everyday we would reach others. Our righteous thoughts would help government officials know the truth at a deeper level in order to choose the right position for themselves. In the meantime they can accomplish their assigned responsibilities in the international community. For Dafa practitioners, it’s just a small thing to do during lunch time every day.

I remember that, on my cultivation path, I used to always think about how to pass a certain test or how to eliminate a certain attachment. At the end of last year when I thought back about my cultivation path, everything became so simple. That is, when I put together the several incidents that had the biggest impact on me, I realised that the cultivation path is a journey of cultivating "selflessness."

Looking at the English poetry on some of our websites, much of it is in a more modern style. Some is written without particular emphasis on rhyme, rhythm, meter, etc. However, from reading Master’s lecture on fine art several times I came to the understanding that the requirement for poetry, just as art, for the future is that it follows an upright and traditional path.

"There must be some organisations donating money to Falun Gong; otherwise, how could they support themselves until now?" My employer said, "I know about this; my friend practises Falun Gong. Every time she joins any activities she uses her own money that she saved from her daily living expenses." After she returned from work she told me, "Look, even those Westerners won't believe that Falun Gong does not have any external support. Today I spoke out for you and finally they believed me." She also told me, "I was lucky that the first Falun Gong practitioner I met was you."

On the issue of security, Falun Gong practitioners outside China live in an environment that is relatively amiable and one that has an established legal system, so they are sometimes complacent and do not pay enough attention to security. When we as Falun Gong practitioners rely on non-practitioners for our security, it actually means that we have not studied the teachings of Falun Gong well enough.

I suggest that we wear clothes or other materials such as badges with Dafa-related contents in order to let Chinese people see that there is equality of human rights and freedom of belief overseas. Let them see that practitioners are healthy and energetic. Let them see practitioners' families enjoying themselves, and the popularity of Dafa outside China, as well as to expose the lies of Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin and his regime.

I said that I was not returning money for the sake of a reward, but that my intent was to let more people like them learn the truth about Falun Dafa and that it's not like what the propaganda on TV had publicised. Right at the moment when I was explaining the facts, a group of tricycle drivers came around. Some of them looked at me with admiration, some gave me a thumbs-up, some said, "Falun Dafa is very good", while others said, "Why don't you demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises right here!"

For those of us who make time to study the Fa, many times we cannot calm our minds and focus on what we are reading, but let our mind wander or think about other "important" matters we have to get done. We also let ourselves get disturbed by mixed thoughts, feel tired and sleepy, or interfered with by family members--all of which seriously interferes with our Fa study. Some practitioners cannot effectively eliminate this interference, thus causing them to not be able to improve and keep up with the requirements of this period of time.

I always felt that I was quite a modest person; some practitioners even said that I had a pure mind. Recently however, I have found that I am not so "pure"; instead, my issues are more complicated than others. I realised that on almost every occasion, my each thought, or many of the things that I have done all revolved around the factor of "fame." This was something that had formed deep in my bones and wasn't easily recognisable.

Sometimes when I saw or heard about something that some Falun Gong practitioners didn't do very well, I would think: apart from first looking inside to see what I had done wrong, I should also write it down so as to share this with other Falun Gong practitioners. If we have done something that is inappropriate, it is likely that we might leave a negative impression of Falun Gong to not only those who don’t practise but also to those who do.
