Master has spoken about the attachments that we had to the United Nations previously. However, not depending on everyday people does not mean that we do not do anything at all. The United Nations is a unique organisation among everyday people, and the UN Human Rights Conference is the focus of concern about human rights from all over the world. It will also be the focus of the global media. This is a chance to clarify the truth on a large scale to a broad range of sentient beings.

The entire universe has deviated. It is therefore no surprise that different states manifest when a cultivator is not in a proper cultivation state, or when cultivators end up in a deadlock. If we carefully look inside, we may find that the ultimate cause is being attached to self. Selfishness runs through even very high levels in the universe. Being attached to the self was the basis for beings' existence in the past. The old forces are attached to what they want and therefore severely interfere with the Fa-rectification.

Confronting such an evil regime, practitioners did not yield or retreat. They came to Geneva again and again to show Dafa’s magnificence to the world, and to undo the wickedness and brutality of the persecution. In bad weather they marched to protest against the persecution. On cold nights they sat in vigils in memory of the practitioners who lost their lives. They told the true story of Falun Gong to innumerable people, hoping to awaken their conscience so that they could be saved.

I completed this round of reciting Zhuan Falun in a very tight schedule. I am a technical person and I am responsible for the maintenance of production sites for truth-clarifying materials. I spend a lot of time traveling on long-distance buses, but I feel that Master Li is watching over me and strengthening me all of the time. Whichever lecture I am reciting, there are always incidents which help me understand the Fa principles. Our production sites are getting better and better, and I feel that my abilities are getting stronger.

My life was changed. I understood the purpose and the importance of life. I organised an exercise site in my area. More and more people joined us. I required myself to follow the standards of a practitioner under all circumstances, taking hardship as happiness, no anger and no hatred and having a harmonious relationship with family members. I have not taken a single pill in 8 years. Dafa has changed my life. From the bottom of my heart, I want say: "Falun Dafa is great."

Within almost one year of practising Falun Gong, gradually I could eat all foods. My body became stronger every day. I gained some weight, and my complexion improved as well. I truly appreciate the wonder of being illness-free. Later, through a physical checkup at my workplace, they found that my hepatitis was completely cured. My whole family was happy to the point of tears. Then I was able to go on business trips with some managers in my organisation. Everywhere we went, I introduced Dafa to people.

When I began to clarify the truth at the beginning, I tried to find those who looked kindly, and I would go to places far from my home. I would observe the surroundings and think about how to deal with any sudden situations. Now I've become more mature in the Fa-rectification. My selfishness has been broken through layer by layer. Now, every arrangement of mine is based on validating the Fa and saving sentient beings. Clarifying the truth has already melded completely into my life.

I went to stay at my mother's house for the Chinese New Year holidays. With strong righteous thoughts, I took Dafa flyers and VCDs with me. My first day there, I went out to distribute flyers. Everything went smoothly, because my mind was righteous. But after that, I became slack and started to watch TV and do housework. My mind was occupied by everyday people's things. I forgot to study the Fa and made excuses for not doing the exercises.

The only thought I had was to quickly read the book more and learn the exercises. Half a month went by quickly and I learned how to do the exercises. Then I suddenly remembered about my tumour. I touched it to see how big it was, but it was no longer there. It had disappeared mysteriously. All of the other illnesses that I had, such as heart disease, also disappeared. I have saved a lot of medical expenses for our country. This is the true story of how Falun Dafa has given me a second life.

"If I can understand, I will believe and if I cannot understand now, I will not believe and will not do it." This is a manifestation of poor enlightenment and disbelief. In many circumstances, the evil exploits precisely this gap of "disbelief." Fa-rectification period Dafa practitioners should not stay in the evil forced labour camps and jails, because there are so many tasks waiting to be accomplished on the outside. Dafa practitioners should and are able to righteously walk out of the evil's den.

While trying to escape severe torture at the hands of thugs from the "610 Office", Yang Yuzhu was injured and severely paralysed. Without any medical treatment, this Falun Dafa practitioner miraculously stood up and was able to walk again. The story shocked the evil and let hospital doctors and others understand the power of Dafa. Many of them started to read Zhuan Falun afterwards, and it is said that some policemen took the confiscated Dafa books home for study as well.

In a hurry, I apologised to the store owner and her two apprentices, "I am very sorry. I didn't know you were sleeping. I spoke too loud. It is all my fault. Please do pardon us!" After my sincere apologies, the atmosphere became relaxed. Their faces didn't look as upset as before. They didn't expect that Dafa practitioners were different from ordinary people at all. They felt a little bit embarrassed and said: "Never mind. We have some faults as well. We should try to understand each other."

Since I obtained the Fa, I've been trying to improve myself. But I'm still a practitioner in cultivation. Therefore, I did things that a true practitioner shouldn't have done. I still have many attachments to give up. I did not pass every tribulation very well. My impure words and deeds had a bad influence on some people. I have not acted responsibly all the time. I caused pain to others when I wasn't willing to help them. Here, I'd like to share my experiences with my fellow practitioners.

I came to enlighten that as Falun Gong practitioners clarify the truth and send truth-clarification materials to others it is like an invisible golden string that threads together thousands of families and all sentient beings. They are telling us that if we assimilate to the universal principles, we will be reborn. The new realms and new dimensions are bound to manifest to us. Clarifying the truth is to eliminate the confusion and guide sentient beings to a bright future.

During a lecture, a student raised a question on the persecution of Falun Gong. The lecturer frowned and said, “Whenever I see a flyer on Falun Gong, I throw it in the bin.” After class, I wrote him a letter explaining why we hand out flyers. I talked about my friends in Beijing who were persecuted, telling him that under such circumstances, being a person with a sense of justice, I cannot sit back and do nothing. I was late for the next lesson, but when I walked in, I saw him smiling at me.

I was especially convinced by the precision of these prophesies that mentioned the vast spread of Falun Dafa, and what it said about Master Li. So I got Zhuan Falun and read it from beginning to end in one sitting. In just a few days, I felt my temper was not bad anymore and I felt closer to people around me. My wife said that I had changed towards other people. I knew that all of this was because of Dafa. I then vowed in my heart to give up evil deeds, to return to goodness and to firmly practice Falun Dafa.

When I was released from the detention centre she began trying to persuade me to give up Falun Dafa. I said, "How could I stop such a great practice?" My daughter stared at me and said, "You will cause trouble for our home if you continue!" I said, "You have seen the huge health benefits I have gained since I started the practice. Before, I needed your support even to go up or down one step. Now, I am full of energy and walk freely. It relieves all of you from the burden of taking care of me."

After a few days, the black color of my skin began to subside. Despite the severe pain, and all the tears I had shed and the sweat I had perspired, my confidence level dramatically increased. After a while the black color was all gone and I could stand up. With persistence in studying the Fa and doing exercises I had overcome the illness. Falun Dafa saved my legs and everyone who saw me later was surprised. I told my wife, "Let's go to the hospital to show them. I want to tell them that Falun Dafa is great."

Dafa is so magnificent and can transform all that is bad to good. Now I can see that some practitioners still have not changed their fundamentally self-oriented nature, even though they are involved with the Fa-rectification and efforts of saving sentient beings. Because their true nature has not changed, they are in fact undermining from within. I know Teacher treasures them and continues to provide opportunities for them to rise by pointing out their shortcomings.

During cultivation, we are unable to distinguish who is truly cultivating and who is not. The standard of a true cultivator is not something we can attain simply by thinking about it. In my opinion, the more one cultivates the more at ease he should be, the more his heart will be relaxed and calm, and the notions in his mind will become fewer and fewer. However, if we have cultivated for many years and the change in our xinxing is small, we should ask ourselves, "Am I a true cultivator? Would a true cultivator act like me?"

I will share a cultivation story that deeply touched my heart. In the early days of Sakyamuni's spreading of his Fa, his step-brother Nanda stayed with him to cultivate. Nanda had a young and beautiful wife and they lived a very happy life. When the Buddha spread his Dharma, Nanda simply could not cultivate diligently. He would often sneak back home to unite with his wife whenever the Buddha went out. Seeing Nanda's attachment, the Buddha took him to a forest where they came across an ugly black monkey.

As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, not only should we break through the constant and regular forces accumulated throughout history at this human level, but we should also free ourselves from the old cosmos's principles. In the process of validating the new cosmos's principles, we should understand the new cosmos's form. Therefore, a true cultivator should constantly understand the Fa-principles, while at the same time constantly assimilate to the cosmos's form.

When the persecution first started, some people in the village tore down truth-clarifying posters. Now, nobody tears them down anymore. Posters with "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and "Falun Dafa is Good" can be seen everywhere in and around the village. A banner with "Bring Jiang Zemin To Justice Around the World" is hanging on a street lamp pole for people to see. Everyone in the village knows Falun Dafa is good.

My understanding is that our purpose in clarifying the truth to the United Nations Human Rights Commission about a resolution on human rights in China should be to save sentient beings. If the commission passes such a resolution, this won’t end the persecution - that can only be done by Dafa disciples - but a resolution like that, passed by the representatives of so many countries, would save countless sentient beings.

I was shocked to discover that I have so many attachments. I even doubted that I had really been cultivating and elevating myself at all. I could distinctly sense that these bad thoughts were living substances. They played a negative role when I validated the Fa and caused interference and disturbance to myself and other practitioners. After studying the Fa with a calm heart, I patiently examined and scrutinised every attachment that I found and tried to find the root of it.

When my life was in a critical condition, I learned that Master Li was going to give a lecture in Dalian City. As our last hope, a family member carried me onto the train going to Dalian. It was truly a miracle -- as soon as the train started and left Jinzhou, I felt better and my appetite improved. On the second day, we arrived in Dalian and listened to Master Li's lecture. During the break in the lecture, Master Li purified our bodies and my fever disappeared immediately,

The young man struggled to take off his jacket and revealed a yellow T-shirt underneath that read, "Truth- Compassion-Tolerance." I saw he was a Dafa practitioner, so I ran up and said to the police, "Don't beat him, he is a good person." A plainclothes police officer yelled at me, saying, "We are executing public order, go away!" I said, "I'm also a police officer. Police should suppress the bad and support the good. You shouldn't beat people like this!"

At the age of 88, my mother now lives better than ever. Some people even joke that she is just like a thousand-year-old iron tree bursting into blossom. Under her influence, many people in her village started practising Falun Gong. Mum told me that she would have died long ago were it not for practising Falun Dafa, and that only the practice of the Great Law of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance could possibly change one's fate.

After making some calls to China this morning, I felt that I had made a breakthrough and enlightened to something. A cultivator’s every thought is powerful. Gods can see it, and so does the evil. Anything, big or small, happening around us is related to our cultivation, so every notion or thought should be measured by the Fa. In the midst of being interfered with, or in confusion, we cannot always find a definite way through, but we are able to make breakthroughs as long as we persevere with Fa-study

Not long after I had begun my genuine cultivation I had a dream. I saw a crowd of people watching a big ship slowly leaving the shore. A rope hung down from the stern of the ship, which was three or four stories high. I grabbed the rope tightly and strenuously climbed onto the ship, step by step along the ship's planks. When I woke up I understood that Master did not give up on me and I got on the "Fa ship," which further strengthened my courage and confidence in cultivation.

During my treatment period, I heard that practising Falun Gong could cure many diseases so I decided to try it. I acquired a copy of Zhuan Falun and formally started cultivating Falun Gong. After a couple of days I felt my health getting better. My legs felt so light and I did not feel tired no matter how far I walked. After a month, my humiliating pain was gone. And my other diseases such as stomach disease, arthritis, low blood sugar, and headaches have disappeared without needing any treatments.

It is not merely a problem that Falun Gong is facing, but a problem that affects France too. If we tacitly agree with this injustice, then it will happen again next time and it may keep on happening over and over. What happens to Falun Gong or foreigners this time may happen to French people next time, and in the end French people may suffer the pain of losing freedom and justice. Perhaps we can do something, not just for me or for Falun Gong practitioners, but also for France, freedom and justice.

It does not matter if the actions of the French police were completely unjustifiable or if some articles of the so-called “laws” were available to justify their actions, we should not have let them arrest and detain us at will. Truth clarification is an act of enormous mercy, why should we be arrested and taken to the police station because of it? By doing what they have done, the French police have failed to take responsibility for their future, and we should help them by clarifying the truth.

My younger cousin said, "Before, I was so afraid of uncle. I was scared that he would beat me. After uncle began practicing Falun Gong, he changed completely. He would not hit or shout at people anymore; no smoking and drinking anymore either. Now, uncle is healthy and his temper is good. He smiles all day. Even when he was hit by a taxi in the street, he still just told the driver he was fine. I also drive a taxi, but why have I never met such a good person? Nowadays, uncle is really good."

I am fifty years old. I truly embarked on the path of cultivation at the end of 1998. At that time, I was so riddled with illnesses that I felt that I would be better off dead than alive. I had many health problems, the most serious being Meniere's Syndrome. My yearly medical expenses were very high, which put me in great financial difficulty. After studying the Fa for three months, all my illnesses disappeared. Every day I was full of vitality and my face was glowing with health. I looked like a different person and I had truly experienced the miracle of Falun Dafa.

My parents-in-law are not practitioners but they respect Teacher very much and they think that Falun Dafa is good. A few of my relatives had formerly listened to the regime's lies and were manipulated by the media, but now they are also practising Falun Gong. They often tell me their experiences in practising Falun Gong. Even my elder brother, who had objections for a long time, also knows that Falun Gong is good.

Many of her friends and relatives worried about her but could do nothing to help. The prison doctors and other people all said to each other, "They committed no crimes, and they just believe in the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. How can it be possible to change a person's personal beliefs through arrest, torture and coercion? She should have been released a long time ago under such circumstances."

We may have various unrighteous thoughts, such as notions that it is no use to sue them because they enjoy diplomatic immunity; that we may as well focus our energy on other aspects since the lawsuit against Jiang’s regime is so important; that it is the mentality of struggle to prosecute Jiang, etc. As long as our first thought is unrighteous, the perspective from which we view problems will be human notions, not the Fa.

I wanted everything I did to be perfect. After all, didn't our words represent Dafa to the world? To some extent, this was genuine idealism, but now, looking back, I can see that my attitude was not totally righteous, as it was formed at least in part by an attachment to reputation. I could not easily accept criticism, so I would seek perfection in the hope there would be nothing for anyone to complain about. I was doing the right thing, but not for the right reason.

If we have capabilities but do not use them and do not actively develop our own latent capabilities, speaking seriously, it is like seeing someone in mortal danger and not lifting a finger to save them. Moreover, it is irresponsible to one’s own cultivation. If the time for you to develop your capabilities presents itself but you do not do it, a lot of precious cultivation opportunities may be lost and many sentient beings that have placed their hopes in you may not be savable.

Other illnesses and pains all disappeared like a cloud of smoke. I knew that Teacher had purified my body and heart. I really experienced the situation of having a light body without any illness and great spiritual and physical well-being. When walking or riding a bicycle, I felt like I was being pushed forward by a wind at my back, with my legs and body so light they felt as if they would fly off with the wind. This was something I had never experienced before.

"I decided to write an article entitled "Too Much Vaudeville and too Little Culture" about this "culture" that has been incisively and vividly showcased in Paris--a farce which clearly tells the world's people that other than lion dancing, playing the dragon lantern, and showing a cheongsam, the Chinese ruling Party indeed has its own "culture" of "contents of thinking." This "culture" is what Jiang Zemin has initiated and created in person. It is the culture of hate and terror against the goodness of our 5,000 years of Chinese culture, which uses Falun Gong's "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" as the main target. This "culture," when Hu Jintao visited Paris, was presented to France as a special program for the "Chinese Culture Year" by Jiang Zemin's regime."

Mr. Jin was fully deceived by the government propaganda and said something slandering Falun Dafa. After hearing Mr. Jin's comments, Mr. An yelled "You don't have to believe in Falun Dafa, but you should not curse it! Have you ever heard that good will be rewarded with good, and evil will be punished by evil? Justice will prevail eventually." Mr. Jin left quietly after he heard what Mr. An said. Mr. An cleaned away the cow manure and continued to read the poster.

I asked myself why I went to the newspaper office to tell them about my experience in Paris. As practitioners, nobody would help us if our mentality of selfishness arises. I began to get clear-headed. I should be using the Paris event to expose the evil, and clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the world. Master Li has pointed out very clearly in the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference, “The most important goal in clarifying the truth is to save sentient beings.”

I enlightened that on the road of cultivation, if I only care about personal consummation, I will always worry about whether I can hang on, and whether I will fall. As a result, my energy will be gradually consumed. However, if on the path of Fa-rectification cultivation we cultivate for others and for all sentient beings, we may find that we have more strength than we think! Not only can we pull others up on the way, but we can also help ourselves to reach the destination!

For the past three years, besides studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, this practitioner spent much of his time performing physical work for families in difficulty, those lacking people to do necessary hard labour. When he saw people needing help with planting rice shoots, he would volunteer to help. If he saw people needing help to carry heavy loads, he would also help. He would help fix the roads if he saw that they needed it. There were countless tasks like this that he contributed to.

I understand that because of Dafa’s choice Fa-rectification exists and with it the hope that our lives can be saved. Otherwise, everything would have been destroyed. Dafa’s choice is the foundation for the birth of the myriad things in the cosmos, and is also the precise reason why our lives are generated, renewed and saved. Harmonizing Dafa’s choice is the overall meaning for the generation and existence of our lives.

I started learning to drive over a year ago. At first I thought it would be very easy. But it was no simple matter and it took me one year to get a driving license. At the same time, the process of my cultivation went completely beyond my expectations. I failed the first test after five minutes because I did not see a traffic sign. Later, it came to mind that the result of the test just reflected one of my problems when doing Dafa work. That is, I had the tendency to regard Dafa work as some ordinary work and tried to finish it in a hurry.

On Dec. 31, the last day of 2003, I went to work with a whole bag of introductory newspapers and books about Falun Gong. I intended to leave the bag at my work site so that I would have immediate access to them whenever I want to distribute them in the future. A security guard told me that Dec. 31 was not a working day. She even called her superior, and insisted on not letting me in. I asked if I could drop the bag of newspapers and books in her office, and pick it up after the New Year. She said no.

I understand from the Fa that only when we cultivate till we are without omissions can we reach consummation. However, under the influence of human concepts, I found myself unconsciously dividing attachments into two - “bad" attachments and “not so bad" attachments. For the latter ones, I found myself not as determined, and intentionally making mistakes in eliminating attachments because of my weak main consciousness and the effect of thought-karma.
