Ms. Wei Hong's Personal Account of the Persecution She Suffered

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have continuously persecuted Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wei Hong since the year 2000. She recounts: "In March 2002, police ransacked my home and interrogated me. I was taken to the Raohe Detention Centre. Officers from the State Security Bureau forced me to watch video programmes that slandered Falun Gong. In 2003, police confiscated personal property from my home, including DVDs exposing the persecution, Falun Gong books and materials. Police cuffed my hands behind my back and hung me up with straps onto the pipe of the central heating system. The straps tightened around my arms, as the officers repeatedly pulled on one end to raise me until my legs couldn't touch the ground." -
Mother Detained for Practising Falun Gong; Mentally Ill Daughter Dies in Custody
2011-03-24On September 17th, 2010, police from Zhangwu County Police Department, Fuxin and the Zhangwu County Crime Investigation Team broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Suxiang's home. They arrested Ms. Zhang and took her mentally ill daughter Miss Yu Meiling away and put her in a welfare centre. Ms. Zhang Suxiang was taken to the Zhangwu County Crime Investigation Team. She was beaten there. Sixty-five days later, Miss Yu died in custody. -
The Systematic Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Beijing Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp
2011-03-24Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp has adopted many hidden methods of persecution to use on practitioners who would not be “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] and on those who openly, on the Internet, voided their “transformation” by declaring them null and void. Because he would not be “transformed,” Mr. Gao Changze was forced to sit on a small stool and was not allowed to use the toilet. He was put away in an isolated cell and suffered verbal abuse and brutal beatings and was not given any food. All of this was done in a small, dark room, which connected to the end of a single tunnel. That small, dark room was isolated from other cells in the forced labour camp—a prison inside the prison. -
Retired Engineer Dies after Long-term Harassment
2011-03-24Retired engineer Mr. Zhou Yinhe enjoyed good health after beginning to practise Falun Gong. However, he was frequently harassed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after the persecution started in 1999. On September 30th, 2009, several policemen drove to his home to threaten him again. A few days later, Mr. Zhou fell on the ground; he couldn't concentrate after being threatened. He remained bedridden since that episode. Mr. Zhou passed away on May 19th, 2010. -
Ophthalmologist Li Lijuan from Qiqihar City Imprisoned
2011-03-24O n May 11th, 2010, when Ms. Li Lijuan, 46, was distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution to people near Qiqihar City Third Middle School, she was reported to the authorities. Ms. Li was sentenced to three years in prison in January 2011. Ms. Li had been living with her mother. After her arrest, her mother's health deteriorated badly and Ms. Li's mother passed away in October. -
Ms. Zhu Ying, National Model Worker, Dies as a Result of Persecution
2011-03-23Ms. Zhu Ying, 53, was awarded the title “National Model Worker,” and officiated at the Xinxiang City Workers’ Union in Henan Province. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and underwent surgery in 2004. After Ms. Zhu began practising Falun Gong in 2005, she soon became very healthy. That was until she was taken into custody in 2010. Police took Ms. Zhu to a detention centre on September 27th, 2010. She was later sentenced to eight years in prison and transferred to Xinxiang Women’s Prison. She died on November 30th. -
Former Court Deputy President Severely Tortured and Still Put in Prison Despite Serious Illness
2011-03-23Because attorney Mr. Wang Zhansuo practises Falun Gong and strives to be a good person, he and his family were arrested by the police on March 4th, 2010, and detained in Huangdao Detention Centre. On October 26th, he was secretly tried and sentenced to four years in prison. Mr. Wang was detained at the Huangdao Detention Centre for ten months after being arrested. The detention centre took him to Jinan Prison in mid-January 2011, however during a health exam at the prison, Mr. Huang was found to have a tumour in his liver. On February 22nd, the detention centre sent Mr. Huang to Jinan Prison despite his illnesses. The prison then put him in a brainwashing session, with the purpose of forcing him to give up his beliefs. -
Doctor Chen Lian from Guanghan City, Sichuan Province Repeatedly Imprisoned and Tortured
2011-03-23Mr. Chen Lian, 50, is a doctor from Fuli Hospital in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. He is highly skilled and regarded as a good doctor. However he has been sent to a brainwashing centre and a forced labour camp, and has been tortured and beaten in prison. He lost his job after he was released from prison in 2010. His salary has been withheld since 2001. -
Hebei Province Brainwashing Centre Injects Falun Gong Practitioners With Unknown Drugs
2011-03-23Police arrested Mr. Hua Fengxiang at his home in May 2007. The police did not tell his family where he was being taken. After arriving at the police station, Mr. Hua was transferred to the Hebei Province Brainwashing Centre. Mr. Hua kept shouting “Falun Gong is good!” Yuan Shuqian said to him, “You will no longer shout after I give you an injection.” Yuan Shuqin ordered other personnel to stuff Mr. Hua' mouth with a towel and forcibly inject him with an unknown drug. Gradually, Mr. Hua's health deteriorated. He moved slowly and had difficulty walking. His spine became distorted and his neck became stiff. -
Persecution of Dr. Wang Anlin from Beijing Normal University Hospital
2011-03-22Dr. Wang Anlin was arrested seven times for refusing to stop practising Falun Gong. She was savagely beaten, and then sentenced to five years in prison in 2005. She was taken to Beijing Women's Prison. She recounts: "Forced labour was one of the main torture methods that prison officials use on practitioners. With no consideration for the aged, weak, ill, or disabled, all inmates were forced to do hard labour, and held to a daily quota. The authorities forced practitioners to take exams that determined whether they had been truly “transformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]" -
Ms. Niu Huimin Beaten Unconscious and Sent to Hebei Women's Labour Camp
2011-03-22Falun Gong practitioner Niu Huimin was at home on June 10th, 2010 when the police broke into her home. She was taken by force to Luxi Police Station and detained. On the morning of June 12th, Ms. Niu was transferred to the Dingxing Public Security Bureau. She was beaten by Tian Xinhong of the Domestic Security Team and two police officers. They kicked her legs and lower back, and punched her in the head They took turns hitting and cursing at her until she passed out. -
Abuse Suffered by Ms. Liu Lijie from Jinan City
2011-03-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Lijie was arrested by the police in March 2009, when she was just about to drive to a court hearing for her brother-in-law, Zhang Xingwu. She was sentenced to a term of nine months in a forced labour camp. While there, she was subjected to beatings, torture, solitary confinement, forced labour, and other forms of mistreatment. -
Practitioner Ms. Hu Yanli Mistreated in Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-03-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Yanli was arrested on August 1st, 2007, in Beilu County along with more than 40 other practitioners, including her elder sister, Ms. Hu Yanrong. In the course of that persecution, her elder sister, Ms. Hu Yanrong lost her life. Ms. Hu Yanli had been detained in Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp for one year, where she was subjected to cruel mistreatment. -
Ms. Li Youyun Passes Away After Years of Persecution
2011-03-21As a result of severe persecution in the brainwashing centre, Ms. Li Youyun suffered hypertension and other illnesses. Even after being released and allowed to go back home, she was often harassed by the district 610 office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). On February 20th, 2011, Ms. Li passed away at the age of 65. -
Ms. Wang Sulan's Life in Danger, Her Family Calls for Public Awareness
2011-03-21Ms. Wang Sulan was arrested in Beijing in 2009. In March 2003, the Xuanwu District Court in Beijing sentenced her to nine years in prison. She is currently incarcerated in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. She is in critical condition after having been tortured for not giving up Falun Gong. The prison authorities extorted 16,000 yuan from Ms. Wang's family with the excuse that she needed the money for surgery to remove her uterus. Ms. Wang's family was upset because she used to be healthy--why would she suddenly have such serious illnesses after being imprisoned? The family believed that the prison authorities were torturing Ms. Wang and were using different excuses to extort money from them.
