Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Nanjing Sentenced to Forced Labour; Ms. Li Li's Situation Critical

On March 16th, 2011, Ms. Li Li was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in front of Jinrunfa Supermarket on Danfeng Street with her mother, Ms. Yuan Yuzhen, when they were seized by police. Ms. Li was imprisoned in the Nanjing City Detention Centre. Ms. Yuan was sent to the Gulou District Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Yuan, who is in her 70s, has since returned home. Ms. Li has now been on a hunger strike for several months as a protest, and she is once again emaciated. Yet, the prison police continue to torture her using a variety of inhumane methods. She is now near death. -
Ms. Duan Xiaoyan Paralysed from the Waist Down after Seven Years of Torture in Qinghai Province Women's Prison
2011-07-30Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Duan Xiaoyan was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in Qinghai Province Women's Prison. Every day, she had to work over ten hours. Sometimes she was even deprived of sleep the entire night. Ms. Duan resisted the persecution and was hung on an iron door for eight days and eight nights, which caused her legs and feet to become swollen and extremely weak. She was tortured numerous times there with electric baton shocks and became paralysed from the lower back down. -
Bai Zijian from Macheng, Hubei Province, Imprisoned for Four Years, His Family in Dire Straits
2011-07-30Mr. Bai Zijian has not been home since June 22nd, 2007, because he is serving a four-year sentence at the notorious Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang, just because he believes in Falun Gong and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. After his four years was up, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agent said that Mr. Bai would be sent to Hubei Province “Legal Education Class” (i.e. Banqiao Brainwashing Centre) for further persecution. Mr. Bai has been imprisoned five times and has paid 15,000 yuan in penalties and fees. His wife, Zhang Shuiying, has been beaten by police officers many times. During his absence, his elderly mother, sick wife, and young son have been having a hard time making ends meet. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Liu Wei, from Shijiazhuang City, Died from Persecution after Term in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-29Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Wei, from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, was in good physical condition and had healthy, lustrous, black hair. She was 5 ft. 9 in. tall and weighed 165 pounds. When she was released from detention at the beginning of March, 2010, her weight had dropped to 110 pounds, and her hair had turned completely white. After being subjected to severe physical and mental persecution in the forced labour camp, she passed away on December 10th, 2010 at the age of 55. -
Mr. Yin Sirong's Family Seeks Legal Support, Which Results in Threats by 610 Office
2011-07-29Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yin Sirong is from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. After his term at the forced labour camp ended, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities sent him directly to the Xijin Brainwashing Centre, also known as the Chengdu City Legal Education Centre. His family and friends have been trying to get him released by seeking legal aid. Mr. Yin Sirong's family and friends submitted a request for his immediate release to officials at Xijin Brainwashing Centre on June 20th. Zhang Xiaochu, head of the Chenghua District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), along with other officials, went to harass and threaten Mr. Yin's family after they submitted the request. -
Officials from the Open University of Fujian Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioner
2011-07-29The Open University of Fujian has persecuted Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Ziqing in a variety of despicable ways. The university administration created a special rule to curtail Ms. Liu’s rights. Former disciplinary committee head Zhao Jie ordered school employees to question Ms. Liu when they saw her outside the school campus, and ask her where she was going. The employees were obligated to file a report on Ms. Liu if they believed she was doing something out of the ordinary. The Personnel Department designated Ms. Liu’s next door neighbour, Huang Rongying, and the reception office staff to spy on her. -
Prison Inmate Bears Witness to the Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in China's Liaoning Province Women’s Prison
2011-07-29I am not a Falun Gong practitioner. After I was found guilty of a minor offence in 2002, I was given a jail term of one and a half years, and was put in Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was rampant at the time and practitioners were being systematically arrested and sentenced. I saw one practitioner who was bed-bound with her limbs tied to the four corners of the bed. A wooden board was placed on her body with three heavy metal pipes to weigh it down-- one on her forehead, one on her torso, and one on her ankle. Four inmates balanced on top of the metal pipes as if they were sitting on a seesaw. -
Practitioner Who Had Serious Injuries Healed after Practising Falun Gong Detained Numerous Times
2011-07-28After falling from a six-story-high overpass, 56-year-old Ms. Wang Ke was paralysed. Her injuries were so severe that the hospital could do little for her. However, shortly after she started practising Falun Gong, she was healed. When the Chinese Communist Party began its campaign of persecution against Falun Gong in July 1999, she remained steadfast in her convictions. Ms. Wang was detained several times for practising Falun Gong. In Fushun Forced Labour Camp she went on hunger strike to protest the detention. However, a guard shocked Ms. Wang's mouth and face with electric batons and forced her to balance a stool on her head. -
The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Hubei Province Brainwashing Centre
2011-07-28Ms. Liu Limin was detained in the Hewan Forced Labour Camp in Wuhan City for one and a half years, and was put in forced labour again in June 2010. While there she was tortured with beatings, standing for extended periods, sleep deprivation, not being given any food, and solitary confinement. After serving the term, she was not released and instead was immediately sent to the Hubei Brainwashing Centre. She was again deprived of sleep, and forced to stand for long periods. Ms. Liu was also force-fed and shocked with electric batons, leaving bruises. She had difficulty straightening her back when walking and was so weak her eyesight deteriorated considerably. -
The Persecution of Fushun City Practitioner Mr. Chen Binli in Liaoning Province
2011-07-28Mr. Chen Binli, a Falun Gong practitioner in Fushun City, has been persecuted repeatedly by communist regime agents at various levels over the past 10 years. He was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in March 2004 and was severely tortured. In August 2006, he was shocked with five electric batons simultaneously in Panjin Prison. Guards brutally beat him in July 2010, shouting that they would torture him to the extreme as long as he remained alive. -
Ms. Qiang Weixiu Arrested Five Times, Now Homeless
2011-07-28Ms. Qiang Weixiu used to suffer from many illnesses. After studying Falun Gong her illnesses soon disappeared. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Qiang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested and detained several times over the years. In the First Forced Labour Camp in Ping'antai guards shackled and forced her to stand for long periods of time. Ms. Qiang could not sleep for a week because of the excruciating pain. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was brutally force-fed. In May 2001, the police were looking for Ms. Qiang so she left home to avoid further persecution. -
Ms. Yue Chunhua, 53, Detained Twice in a Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-27Practitioner Ms. Yue Chunhua has been detained many times and sentenced to forced labour twice in the past 12 years only because of her belief. She recounts her experience in Shimahe Women's Forced Labour Camp: "I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and was brutally force-fed by the guards and other inmates. Guards cuffed my hands behind my back, while drug addict inmates held me down on the floor. A prisoner cruelly force-fed me a very thick soy milk powder. They force-fed me four times per day, from afternoon to evening. As a result, my stomach was full of water, but I was not allowed to use the toilet. I quietly endured this pain that lasted for about a month." Guards also slapped and punched her. -
Wanzhou District Brainwashing Centre Officials in Chongqing Covertly Incarcerate and Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-07-27Communist regime agents in the Wanzhou District of Chongqing held a so-called "Study Session" in July 2011. They covertly arrested local Falun Gong practitioners and held them in this brainwashing facility. They refused to allow practitioners to leave the room at any time, forced them to watch TV programmes slandering Falun Gong, and attempted to force them to write the three statements promising to give up their practice. -
Two Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced in Changzhou
2011-07-27Practitioners Mr. Xu Ming and Ms. Liao Yongge were arrested by officers on the afternoon of May 26th, 2010. On June 29th, Mr. Xu Ming was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, while Ms. Liao Yongge was sentenced to three years in prison by Tiannin Court of Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. On June 23rd this year, another practitioner Mr. Yang Chanrong was sentenced to six years in prison. -
Cai Yuechan and Cai Yuchang Tried in Shantou City, Guangdong Province
2011-07-27Police arrested practitioners Cai Yuechan and Cai Yuchang on December 4th, 2010 in Shantou City, and took them to the Tuopu Detention Centre. The practitioners were forced to appear in Longhu District Court on June 3rd. Ms. Cai Yuechan and Ms. Cai Yuchang went to meet someone in the manufacturing business on December 4th, 2010, in Shantou. They were meeting a businessman to give him a Shen Yun Performing Art DVD. However, when they got there, the local police and the Procuratorate were waiting for them because the man had set them up and notified the authorities.
