Practitioner Mr. Sun Yubin from Liaoning Province Persecuted and Tortured in Forced Labour Camps, Detention Centres, and Prisons

As a steadfast Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Yubin was arrested, imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to forced labour many times. In Jiatie Detention Centre Mr. Sun went on a hunger strike demanding to be released without charges. Prison guard Yuan Hua ordered the prisoners to force-feed him. A prisoner pried his mouth open with a sharpened wood stick. He lost one of his upper teeth and another was pried lose. They inserted a tube through his nose into his stomach. He lost consciousness due to the excruciating pain. He was force fed three times within 15 days. Mr. Sun was tortured with the “death bed” torture and monitored by three prisoners around the clock. -
Ms. Wang Huinan Tortured for Two Years at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2012-02-13Ms. Wang Huinan used to be weak and sickly. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all her illnesses disappeared. She was arrested by police in August 2004 because she appealed for Falun Gong. She was detained in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for two years, where she suffered brutal persecution. After her release, she was repeatedly harassed by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials. -
Ms. Qi Yaru Arrested for Fifth Time--Her Family has Suffered Long-Term Separation During Past Few Years
2012-02-12More than two dozen police officers broke into Ms. Qi Yaru's home at about 5:00 a.m. on December 31st, 2011. Ms. Qi was not at home at the time. They took away her husband and her son, then ransacked her home, and confiscated many belongings. Later, the police went to Ms. Qi's sister's home and arrested Ms. Qi and her ten-year-old daughter, Miss Wang Shiyuan. On the same day, the police arrested more than 30 other practitioners. This was the fifth time that Ms. Qi had been arrested. During the past 12 years, her family had suffered long-term separation. Her daughter Shiyuan was recently released, however she has suffered a huge emotional blow after experiencing her mother's arrest. -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Huairou District, Beijing Arrested and Taken to Forced Labour Camps
2012-02-12On the evening of November 17th, 2011, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wen Yuhong, who is in her 50s and a resident of Huairou District, Beijing, was arrested together with her three-year-old granddaughter by police officers. She was then sentenced to two years imprisonment. Practitioners arrested on the same day were Ms. Jia Cuihuan, Ms. Wang Baohua (46 years old) and Ms. Sun Guiqing (60 years old). They were also sentenced and detained at forced labour camps. -
Mr. Liu Zhaofu from Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, Arrested; His Wife Persecuted As Well
2012-02-11Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Zhaofu was arrested on September 22nd, 2011, and has been detained at the Jiaohe City Detention Centre. The police are threatening to send him to prison. During the Beijing Olympics three years ago, police from Jiaohe, Jilin, were trying to meet a quota for large-scale arrests of Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Liu was able escape, but his wife was arrested and sentenced to six years in prison. Ms. Shi is currently incarcerated in the Hezuizi Women's Prison. -
Robbery Victim Arrested
2012-02-11Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Xiuju's home was robbed at the beginning of August 2011, and 600 yuan in cash and a Walkman were taken. Several police officers suddenly entered Ms. Sun Xiuju’s house on August 13th and asked if her home had been robbed. She told them the truth. Then the officers said, “The thief reported you because your cash had messages with information about Falun Gong on it, and your Walkman had Falun Gong content.” Then the police began searching her home for any materials related to Falun Gong, such as materials leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers took Ms. Sun to Tengzhuang Town Police Station. -
Ms. Jiang Pingtian from Qidong County, Hunan Province Incarcerated for Eight and a Half Years, Her Family Persecuted As Well
2012-02-10After the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999, Ms. Jiang Pingtian was arrested and detained numerous times for standing firm in her belief and explaining the facts of Falun Gong to the public. Just a few months after her last arrest in late 2001, Qidong County Court sentenced her to eight years of incarceration. When she finished serving her sentence, the prison refused to release her on time and extended her term by six months. While holding her in custody, the local police repeatedly interrogated her with torture in an attempt to extract “confessions” from her. They tied her hands and hung her up by a rope to the top of a metal gate for nine days; several policemen took turns beating and kicking her. -
Ms. Dai Meilan from Shenzhen City Sentenced--Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Shirks Responsibility and Gives Family the Runaround
2012-02-10Officers from the Dongxiao Police Station of Shenzhen City arrested Ms. Dai Meilan on May 20th, 2011. Without showing any documentation, the police ransacked her home and took her personal belongings. They took her to the Luohu Detention Centre. Ms. Dai was recently sentenced to three years of imprisonment. When Ms. Dai's family went to the Luohu Police Department to file a complaint, the officer on duty claimed, “The police chief doesn't work here. It's none of our business. Go to the Petition Office.” The officer at the Petition Office said, “We have never handled Falun Gong issues.” -
Mr. Li Haijun and His Wife Imprisoned
2012-02-09Mr. Li Haijun and his wife, Ms. Liu Huiping were arrested in Changde, Hunan Province in 2009. They were sentenced to prison by the Wuling District Court in 2011. Mr. Li was sentenced to eight and a half years, and is now being held in unit No. 6 of Jinshi Prison in Changde. Ms. Liu was sentenced to seven and a half years, and is currently being held in Changsha Women's Prison. -
Ms. Liu Hui Has Been on Hunger Strike for 20 Days
2012-02-09Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Hui was arrested at home on December 14th, 2011, by three officers from Fuqin Police Station. The next day, she started a hunger strike to protest her arrest. It lasted for more than 20 days. She is currently being held at Chengdu City Detention Centre Hospital. Her family is not allowed to visit her and they are worried about her condition. -
Persecution Methods Used at the Jixi City Brainwashing Centre in Heilongjiang Province
2012-02-08The Jixi City Brainwashing Centre is one of the many locations in China where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. When a person is suddenly locked up alone in a completely closed-off environment and treated as a criminal, cut off from all contact with the outside world and from normal dealings with people, they feel a tremendous mental pressure. People in this situation often develop feelings of inexplicable fear, loneliness and despair. The entire environment that Falun Gong practitioners are placed in is designed to make them feel that once they enter the brainwashing centre, there is no way out other than to be “tranformed” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]. -
Elderly Couple from Sichuan Province Can't Return Home for Chinese New Year
2012-02-08Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Gao Yinli and his wife, nearly 80 years old, are from Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. After their son's arrest in November 2011, they were forced to leave home for over two months to avoid being persecuted. Police officers often go to the couple's home to coerce their children into disclosing their parents' whereabouts. Even with the Chinese New Year around the corner, the elderly couple was forced to stay away from home. -
Visiting an Sentenced Relative, Three Innocent People Are Detained
2012-02-07Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zheng Hongying was arrested on September 6th, 2011, and on November 18th she was put on trial in Qingyuan County Court. Chinese Communist Party members were plotting to put her in prison. On November 25th, more than a dozen of Ms. Zheng's relatives, including her distant relatives, Wang Nanfang and Guan Yan, went to Qingyuan County Courthouse to inquire about Ms. Zheng. The result was that Wang Nanfang and Guan Yan have now also been detained. Ms. Zheng Hongying didn't look at all good in court. She was dizzy and had unbearable chest pain caused by the terrible beating she had been given by two officers with the Nankouqian police station. -
Xiangtan Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yao Jianping Arrested and Facing Trial
2012-02-07Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao Jianping, 54, was arrested from her home and has been detained in Qilipu Detention Centre for over three months. Her health has deteriorated due to the mistreatment she is suffering in the detention centre. Her family have asked to visit her several times but have yet to be allowed to see her. There is a rumour that Ms. Yao will be put on trial, so her family has hired a lawyer to defend her innocence. -
Mr. Wang Fengqi from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province Passes Away After Police Harassment and Home Ransacking
2012-02-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Fengqi, 60, is the father of Mr. Wang Xinchun, who lost his legs in 2001 due to the persecution. Police ransacked Mr. Wang Fengqi's home. Terribly frightened, Mr. Wang suddenly lost his ability to speak or move, and passed away less than a month later on December 22nd, 2011. Mr. Wang Fengqi had been threatened, arrested, interrogated and detained repeatedly for practising Falun Gong.
