After she returned home, the police station and street office still kept close watch on her. Her work unit also stopped her salary and her husband's salary, causing great financial difficulty and mental pressure to the couple. On January 26, 2004, Liu Xing passed away. Her husband was also arrested and is suffering torments in Baoding First Prison in Hebei Province.

During the frenzied police arrests I returned to Changchun City and was forced to rent a house. My husband was not happy with me and asked me to write the so-called three statements promising not to practise Falun Dafa. I firmly rejected his suggestion. Ms. Li Shuqin gave me all her support and encouragement. She also taught me how to help my husband to accept my practice of Falun Dafa, and gave me our Teacher's new articles. I was very much moved by this.

The persecution of Falun Gong is most severe in these three provinces in northeastern China. According to statistics from the Clearwisdom website, among the 876 confirmed deaths, 346 were from northeastern provinces. This is more than one third of the total number of deaths. Among the 346 cases, 138 victims were from Helongjiang Province, 110 were from Jilin Province, and 98 were from Liaoning Province. Based on the fact that the information about Mr. Song Gang, Mr. Liu Ming, and Mr. Wang Xidong's deaths did not come to light until four years after the fact, it makes sense to conclude that the death toll from this persecution instigated by Jiang Zemin's regime far exceeds 876.

The prolonged mental and physical torture seriously damaged Yao Sanzhong's health. He was on the brink of death. The camp was afraid of the responsibilities they might have to face, so they processed Yao Sanzhong's bail for medical treatment in a hurry. Just several days before the bail was granted, Yao Sanzhong still had to force his extremely weak body to work until 2-3 a.m. with his numb and feeble hands.

Due to the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong instigated by the Jiang Zemin regime, even Falun Gong practitioners in my hometown were also sent to labour camps. Their phones were being monitored. Everyone had to show his or her solidarity and conformance with the government. Practitioner's relatives were also implicated. My own relatives were in fear too, so they sent me to another relative's home in a remote village. However, even there the police were arresting practitioners. My relatives were constantly living in fright.

At about 2 p.m. on January 14, 2004, practitioner Sun Yuhua, was brutally abducted from the yard of her home in the Hasan electricity plant residential quarters. She was brutally beaten, and tortured. On the evening of the same day, her daughter, who is an 18-year-old university student was also taken to the Hulan county police department, and subsequently tortured. From the day she was abducted to today, Sun Yuhua has been on a hunger strike to protest her illegal torment. At present, she is on the verge of death.

In September 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Dongqing completed the three-year term of forced labour. The Masanjia Labour Camp should have released her. Instead, the Camp fabricated some charges against her and brought her to the Shenyang Court. The Court sentenced her to a five-year term, without doing any investigation, and without allowing any testimony. They didn't allow anyone outside the court to know about the sentence, and unjustly sent Dongqing to Shenyang Dabei Female Prison.

Falun Dafa practitioner Xiao Yu (alias), from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, has been illegally detained for about two months, during which time the policemen have not stopped persecuting him. At the present, he is at death's door in the Jiamusi Detention Centre. Xiao was illegally arrested at the beginning of December 2003. For several days, he was tortured by police from the Jiamusi Police Department, attempting to extort a "confession." They did not stop the brutality until he could not move.

Mr Xiao Zhiduan was a Judge in Jiaozhou city, Shandong province. Because he inisted on practising Falun Gong, he was detained and tortured in a mental hospital. They forcefully tied him to a table and shocked both his arms with a heavy current circular electric needle. Both of his arms went numb from the torture. The pain was too hard to endure and it reached his chest. He eventually fainted. He woke up when they turned off the switch and they shocked him again. They repeated these steps and asked him if he would still practise Falun Gong.

To avoid being subjected to their persecution again, Ms. Li tore a bed sheet, tied the pieces into a rope and attempted to lower herself to the ground. In the process she broke a fifth floor window and accidentally fell. Her ribs and internal organs were severely damaged as a result of the fall. Tragically she died. Her body was sent to the mortuary at 7:30 p.m. the same day, and she was cremated on December 6th, 2003.

One of these prisoners, Pan Aihua, told Ms. Gong, "You had better write those four letters of repentance quickly or what you just experienced in the small room was nothing. I will use a stick to poke you until you die [referring to sexual abuse]." As Pan clarified the truth of the persecution to the inmates, Wan Yalin quickly said to Ms. Gong, "They are just trying to frighten you. There is no such thing." She turned back and went downstairs still angry

In June, the Chief of the Board Section, Sha Huiming, threatened him: "There are so many people in China. We can beat you to death and it would be just like trampling an ant, no one will care."...Brigade Chief, Zhong Zhiyuan, presided over a mobilization meeting and yelled: "The Wuyuan Forced Labour Camp will fulfill 100% of our 'Transformation Ratio.' When one practitioner arrives, we will transform him. After we transform all the practitioners here, we can transfer those practitioners who have not been transformed from labour camps all over the country to here. We can forcibly transform them all."

Starting on March 8, 2003, all of the inmates from the No. 9 Brigade of the Jiamusi Labour Camp, totalling more than 80 people, were forced to make mobile phone cases. The plastic was of poor quality and gave off an irritating smell that brought about a harsh choking sensation. Through lab testing, it was determined that the toxin levels in the materials used were well beyond the industry standard, and could cause cancer. Police agents wore large face masks while guarding us, and never entered the production area while we were working there.

Mr. Peng's head and body were black and purple. There were bloodstains. His face was covered with marks caused by electric shocks. Some of his bones were also fractured. Peng's family had thought to seek justice from the authorities, however, they were frightened by the representative, who threatened them by saying, "If you don't follow the government's arrangements, we will have your whole family lose their jobs and go broke. You will have no way to survive."

After the Spring Festival of 2002, when two Dafa practitioners in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province came to Jianping County to obtain truth-clarifying materials, they were followed by the police. Mr. Wang Zhiguo, a 40 year old Dafa practitioner and winner of a weight lifting silver medal of the Asian Games for the Disabled, was abducted and illegally sentenced to 8 years imprisonment. He is currently imprisoned at the Dabei Prison in Shenyang City.

After those officers left, the police instructor, brigade leader He, and group leader Zhou beat her up together. They kicked her, slapped her face, and knocked her down to the ground. Then they pulled her up and beat her again until they were exhausted. Zhang Xiaodan said, "It's too good for her if we prick her only with small needles, let's use larger needles." They continued to beat her until she collapsed. They wanted to assure that she would no longer dare to report them

On January 3, 2000, since Qu Ping and Han Junhong did not give up the practice, COE sent two administrative teams of 5 people each to their post. The teams read the college's punitive decisions to them, and requested them to wrap up personal possessions and leave immediately under the teams' supervision. In addition to removing them from the post, COE also stopped their bonus pay.

"If you write a promise letter (to give up Dafa cultivation) and pay 5,000 Yuan, we will send you home instead of the detention centre." I refused. Frustrated, they went to my husband's work place, my child's school and my parents' house to tell lies and threatened them. They told them that I would receive jail sentences. When my sick father heard that, he was so shocked that his physical condition worsened and he became bed ridden. My husband could not bear their constant harassment and paid them 2,000 Yuan, thinking that they would release me. But the police still sent me to a detention centre for 15 days.

Some of the policemen who knew the truth about Falun Dafa brought me some daily necessities, while other policemen smoked in my hospital room. A nurse nicknamed Xiao Xiu asked them not to smoke cigarettes in the hospital ward, but they refused to stop smoking. They replied matter-of-factly, "We are here to watch her, not to provide medical care. It is none of our business if she dies."...Then Wang Zhongren threatened me, trying to make my family pay him 30,000 yuan within three days. He said, "Otherwise, I will put an ad on the newspaper and sell you as a mail-order bride for 30,000 yuan."

In the hospital, two policemen from the detention centre and four criminal prisoners took turns guarding her. They handcuffed both her hands and feet to the bedposts while she was having intravenous injections. On January 27, Luo Huanrong and the other four people came to the hospital to threaten her, saying, "We will beat you if you do not eat; we will keep you here until you die."

There are over a dozen procedures necessary for making one doll, but carrying out many of these steps are countless numbers of people who don't get paid, and when payment does occur, it is only the equivalent of about twenty-five cents. The dolls are exported and sold all over the world. After being handled by over a dozen workers, the dolls are packaged without sterilization. The working conditions are very bad and because of the lack of proper hygiene, the inmates suffer from all kinds of diseases. The Hunan Labour Camp Bureau is using Chishan as a pilot site, and has plans to promote this type of labour activity to every prison in Hunan Province.

Later Ms. Xu Guilan saw news on TV saying that she was "transformed" and had voluntarily turned in her Dafa books. They had created an entirely false scenario. The report only showed Xu Guilan taking the books out of the drawer, without playing any sound. Only the reporter was making a comment. Ms. Xu went to the police station and asked them why they made all this up. None of the police dared to say one word.

It has been confirmed that two male Falun Gong practitioners from Yangquan City, Shanxi Province have been tortured to death in labour camps. Guo Jifang, over 50 years old, died from brutal abuse two years ago in the Tuanhe Labour Camp in Beijing. Li Huiwen, a young Chinese medical doctor, was tortured to death a year ago in the Xindian Labour Camp in Shanxi Province.

Ms. Hou Youfang was a 49 year old Falun Gong practitioner and a teacher at Xipuo High School in Jinchang City, Gansu province. She was taken away by police in August 2002 for distributing truth-clarifying materials to people. She resolutely refused to write the so-called "Repentance Statement". So the police began to cruelly beat her. She died on November 29, 2002 because of the torture. It was said that she suffered from internal bleeding. Her rib cage and pelvic cavity were broken as a result of the beating.

...Policemen from the National Security Brigade left nothing in the Suns' home untouched, and the floor was strewn with objects the police had thrown around. These policemen kept cursing and uttering nothing but profanities while they ransacked the Sun's house, and they then knocked down the wardrobe. Finally, the police abducted Mr. and Mrs. Sun, and left their 13-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son alone at home with no one to care for them...

The former head of the Weifang "610 Office"* Song Jiwu, in collaboration with the Weifang Forced Labour Camp, has been holding brainwashing sessions since March 15, 2001. Over 100 Falun Dafa Practitioners have been brutally tortured and persecuted in these brainwashing sessions. The deputy head of the Forced Labour Camp, Zou Jintian has been directly involved in the brainwashing. The Head of the Camp's Second Division, Ding Guihua has also directly arranged the persecution of practitioners.

In mid-November 2002, policewomen Kou Na and Gao Huachao led drug addicts to beat her savagely on many occasions. They stripped her off her clothes at night and threw her into a pig pen...They later pushed her to the front of the dog cage, threatening to jail her together with a dog. All these humiliations and tortures brought tremendous damage to her both mentally and physically.

Officer Chen took the mobile phone that You's son had just purchased as well as 100 yuan. You's family worried about her health in the detention centre, so they sent gifts to their relations to get her out. They spent over a thousand yuan just to treat Zhang Yinchao and his family to dinner. (Zhang is the one in Xingtai Police Department in charge of the Falun Gong issue.) Zhang also took from them two or three thousand yuan in cash. When You was released, she was again fined 3,000 yuan. Altogether, You and her family were extorted over 10,000 yuan. [The average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 yuan.]

A policeman said ferociously, "If you continue to practise, we will send both of you to jail." Then they left. However, they returned just several minutes later and forcibly took the couple away. They jailed them in the Longxi County Detention Centre and delivered a notice to the couple's family stating the couple was detained on criminal charges....On April 22, a release notice was issued for Zhang. However, Song Jianhua said, "The higher authorities did not instruct us to release Falun Gong practitioners and we can't release him according to the release notice." They also said that they would keep the Falun Gong practitioners in jail until they died.

On April 29, 2002, police from the Heping Police Station ransacked my home and demanded to know if I was still practising Dafa. I said, "Yes, I do. How could I not take part in such a wonderful practice?" As a result, the police took my daughter and me to the Heping Police Station where the police told me I would be released if I said I would relinquish the Falun Dafa practice. I answered, "I'll definitely continue to practise Dafa! No one can stop me!"

This sixty five year old man, who had become fit and healthy through his practice of Falun Dafa was arrested for no good reason other than he risked his life to tell people the truth about the brutal persecution. He then had to suffer unimaginable pain and torture, which destroyed his body and mind and lead to his sad death.

Under such psychological torture, Ms. Yang began to get thinner and thinner, her face became jaundiced yellow and her abdomen swelled to distention. She had difficulty breathing and was sick in bed. The doctor's examination found that all of her vital signs were normal. No one could diagnose the illness that she was suffering....On November 6, 2002, Ms. Yang Jingyun quietly passed away. She had been so helpless and persecuted so severely. Her family was so sad!

Our agricultural machinery and other personal belongings were taken away. My son held on to his favorite sheep and begged them to let him keep it, but they took it from him anyway. They saw a suitcase and a neighbour said, "Don't take the suitcase. There's money in it." When they heard the word "money" they took the suitcase with them right away. The crowd reprimanded them for behaving like gangsters. Because my home was stripped clean, my son was forced to leave school because he could no longer afford the school fees.

Force-feeding is the number one cause of death for Falun Gong practitioners. The purpose of police force-feeding is not to nourish, but rather to punish practitioners and to cause so much pain that they will renounce the practice of Falun Gong. To that end, the police have used many different means to cause excruciating pain and injury, including inserting and withdrawing the feeding tubes repeatedly, leaving the feeding tubes in the stomach, knocking out teeth while attempting to force-feed, force-feeding saturated salt-water, vinegar/liquor, or urine/faeces, etc

Upon hearing the shocking news of Meng Xiao being tortured to death, I could not stop crying. I could still remember her smile and voice vividly....After the persecution of Falun Gong began, she bravely withstood the pressure coming at her from family, work, and others around her, and was determined never to give up the practice. I will never forget her firm belief in Falun Dafa and her courage in facing the evildoers.... Because of the persecution, that young life had been taken away. I could not stop crying in front of the computer.

I asked my neighbour's 4-year-old son, Bao Bao, "Do you want to go to school when you are older?" Bao Bao said, "I don't want to go; school is terrible." I asked, "How do you know it's terrible?" Bao Bao said, "Granny went to school, and she can't come home. Mum took me to school to see her. The school had locked granny in a room. There are steel rods and a lock on the door. Granny can't come out. She even has to go to the toilet in there. There is no bed, so she has to sleep on the floor.

Mr. Na became very weak as a result of sinister and cruel persecution of both mind and body in the camp. He also became emaciated. His feet became deformed and he could only walk with the support of at least two others. The labour camp authorities were afraid of taking the responsibility for their abuse, so they released him on November 17 2003. However, Mr. Na Changjian was unable to recover from the terrible abuse and died on January 14 2004.

The activity targets students in elementary and middle schools, and farmers. The plan of attack is to adopt a face-to-face approach in villages to display pictures and VCD's based on fabrications in order to slander Falun Gong. Farmers and students will be forced to watch slanderous videos and to view the exhibition. Afterwards, the students are asked to enter a contest by writing articles and speeches that slander Falun Dafa.

In July of 2002, Wang Lin attended a joint entrance exam for a provincial high school. In the politics section of the paper there was a question defaming Falun Gong. Wang Lin answered the question truthfully stating: Falun Dafa is good, and Falun Dafa is righteous. Later on officials from the Political and Judiciary Committee, Police Department and Provincial Education Committee came looking for her. Wang was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution

Miss Fu, Li's fiancée, has said that she can feel the pain Li is suffering in the brainwashing class even though she is in the US. The pain comes from being forced to do things you never want to do and from having your basic human nature altered. Li is a truthful person. He never tells lies and wants to be a good, compassionate person with great tolerance. They torture him and attempt to transform him. That is a pain no words can describe.

Due to torture, his health worsened. After he was released home, Fenghua authorities informed Yinchun City Government to take him back to Yinchun City to work when in fact he was being monitored there. While in Yinchun, Song's health deteriorated rapidly. Yinchun authorities then sent him back to Zhejiang. On the same day of his return (at the end of January 2000), he passed away.

On April 22, Zhang Youqing was issued a release warrant. Police officer Song Jianhua said, "No, you can't go home." He claimed he'd hold Zhang Youqing and his wife until they died in prison...Song Jianhua interrogated him when he was extremely weak and asked if he would continue to practise Dafa. Mr. Zhang Youqing firmly answered he would and said, "I got a release warrant and you still won't let me go. You are persecuting us Falun Gong practitioners!" Song Jianhua grew furious and beat Zhang Youqing until the practitioner's face turned white as a sheet and he couldn't stand up.

In order to resist the persecution, we all went on a hunger strike. As a result, six people held us down and force-fed us. They taped the process. Guo Shujun said, "We do not fear you all dying. Our superiors gave us a quota of 20 deaths. It is more than enough even if all of you die." ...Zhen Wenshan said, "Jiang Zemin has issued the order. He does not let us take a break, you cannot take a break either."

In order to make money, the drug rehabilitation centre asked Dafa practitioners to select production of either toothpicks or chopsticks. At 6:00 a.m., they had to get up and start work after washing. Other than having meals, they had to work continuously until 9:00 p.m. Sometimes they worked until midnight, and still needed to continue on the following day. Each day they only had five minutes for washing. During these five minutes, the police guards yelled, "Hurry up, hurry up!"

One day in July, I went to visit the family again. Ms. Wu was happy but her condition had deteriorated. Pus formation had spread throughout her calves, and a copious exudate oozed from her legs below the knees; her abdomen had distended to the bottom of her sternum. A foul odour permeated the whole room. I asked her if we could take a photo of her to send to Clearwisdom.net, and she agreed. Thus she left behind the last, a sad and evocative, photo in her life.

The hospital is perhaps among the top centres used for the persecution of Falun Gong, when compared to other similar mental hospitals. Falun Gong practitioners detained there are strictly isolated, not allowed to be visited by families, and are forcibly drugged with toxic substances that detrimentally affect the central nervous system, until their so called "transformation" is achieved. Only then will the Assistant Secretary in charge of politics and law work and the Politics and Law Commission authorize the release.

Sixty-year old women also had to do this work if they refused to give up practising Falun Gong. On purpose, the camp forced the practitioners to do the "pouring pesticide" job, which was the dirtiest and most hazardous one. We could hardly see each other through the haze of pesticide dust in the shop, where practitioners' eyes were frequently scorched. With no water to drink in the hot summer, in addition to hunger and fatigue, some practitioners fainted.

In December 2000, five Falun Dafa practitioners, Li Yueming, Zhang Jian and Zhang Jian's 16-year-old son among others from Xiangheng County, Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, travelled to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. They opened a banner reading, "Falun Dafa is great," at the Tiananmen Gate Tower. Li Yueming and the 16-year-old practitioner raised the banner together and shouted, "Falun Dafa is great!" and "Return Teacher's good name!" Later, police tried to savagely snatch the banner away. The boy rolled the banner around his body to avoid having the police seize it.

Certain lawless authorities were very panicked after Falun Dafa practitioners in Xingtai City and Shahe City, Hubei Province successfully inserted signals clarifying the truth about Falun Gong into a local TV programme around the Chinese New Year. The Hebei Province Party Committee ordered Xingtai City to "solve the case" by a deadline; otherwise the mayor would be fired. In the meantime, some officers from Hebei Province Police Department stationed in the Yongnian area have arrested several practitioners.

It was recently confirmed in Hebei Province that Falun Gong practitioners Gao Shiping and Li Shuli died in December of 2003 due to the abuses they suffered in Baoding City Gaoyang Labour Camp and Tangshan City Hehuakeng Labour Camp. Currently there are as many as 89 confirmed deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in Hebei Province due to the persecution.
