During the ten years from 1999 through 2009, Ms. Guo Zhaoqing had been arrested nine times, and she has endured many sorts of torture. Her body is covered with scars. In 2001, she was arrested by the local head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and taken to Baimalong Forced Labour Camp in Zhuzhou for two years. During this period, she was handcuffed and hung, electrically shocked, and beaten. The torture put her life in peril, and she was then taken home by her family.No matter how roughly she was treated, she never "confessed" to anything or signed any papers associated with her persecution.

On June 24th, 2000, my wife and I went to Tienanmen Square and told people the facts about Falun Gong. We were arrested. I was detained in the Qitaihe First Jail where police interrogated me, along with lots of beating and cursing. On the hottest days of the summer, I was forced to pull weeds, dig holes, and plant trees. I was forced to dig ditches, build dikes, and load, unload and move sand, bricks, and rocks on rainy days. In March 2009, the Qitaihe City Office began a hundred-day campaign to harass practitioners. The police came to where I lived and harassed and arrested practitioners but did not find me. On April 27th, the police came to look for me again. I left home to avoid being arrested and persecuted again.

On May 19th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Daqun was arrested and beaten by police officers. He was detained at the Chongqing City Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. Inmates, incited by guards, hit, kicked and tortured him. Guards forced Mr. Qin to stand for a long time and carry very heavy sandbags. On September 5th, 2008, he passed away due to the inhuman torture.

In November 2007, Bo Xilai was delegated to the post of First Secretary of Chongqing City. He displayed his tactics from previous positions, persecuting Falun Gong without restraint. Wave after wave of practitioners were arrested--over 100 practitioners were arrested right around the time that the Olympics were held. Officers tried try to force practitioners to renounce their beliefs using many methods of torture and beatings, the severity of which was shocking. Bo Xilai has only been in Chongqing City for over a year, but already numerous practitioners have died or become disabled.

Ms. Rong Chunling, 55 years old, was detained in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her release date was the end of May 2008. Instead of regaining her freedom, she was detained in a detention centre by local police officers without any warrant or reason. Then she was taken to a forced labour camp for an additional one year and nine months. She is forced to do hard labour for around ten hours daily. In December 2008, she had high blood pressure. On February 13th, 2008, and again one month later, she was in a faint for close to six minutes. The guards claimed that she could not see a doctor because of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) two meetings. Besides, she was forced to work for ten hours daily.

Since October 1999, Falun Gong practitioner Liu Shufen has been subjected to endless persecution. In mid-May 2002, she was sentenced to 8 years in prison, and sent to Heilongjiang Women's Prison. She was tortured with a method called "big hang-up". Her father was overcome with grief and passed away in 2006, and her mother is currently jailed in the same prison.

In January 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Xiqing fainted from torture by police at Xishanping Labour Camp. He was then cremated while he was still alive. Lawyer Zhang Kai and lawyer Li Chunfu were entrusted by Jiang Xiqing's son to provide legal services related to the death of his father as a result of torture. On the afternoon of May 13th, 2009, these two lawyers were at the home of Jiang Hongbin discussing the case. The lawyers were taken from the home by several officials and police. They were detained, tortured and interrogated for over 5 hours.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei, 34 years old, lived in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. He suffered eight years of persecution, including detention, at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Finally he was tortured until he was very thin. He suffered a mental collapse, was not able to eat, and after he was brought back home, in less than 13 days, he passed away on February 16th, 2009. Various marks of injury were found on his body.

Practitioner Ms. Kang Ruizhu was arrested on October 15th, 2002. On October 27th, 2002, her family was informed that she had died. Even today, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) conceals the cause of her death. The Donghuishe Township government and police station said that Ms. Kang was found dead at a big well in the pump house of the magnetic separation factory which is located in the west of the Donghuishe Township government, about a half mile away. The police department and the police station claimed that "beating death is suicide, any other death is suicide" and these were the words from the top.

In May, 2008, the 610 Office arrested over 30 local practitioners including Mr. Gao under the guise of "security for the Beijing Olympics." Mr. Gao went on a hunger strike in the Panjin City No. 3 Detention Centre. Guards, beat him and tortured him using the tiger bench method. Mr. Gao lost his ability to take care of himself after five days torture. In August, police re-arrested Mr. Gao, searched his home, and took him directly to the Benxi Forced Labour Camp. On April 13th, 2009, in a corner of a farmers' market customers found Mr. Gao curled up on the ground, trembling. He was weak and could not move his legs, crippled from torture. It took tremendous effort just for him to crawl. He was dirty and smelled horrible.

Harbin Women's Prison is notorious for its brutal treatment of Falun Gong practitioners. Both guards and inmates have cruelly tortured and abused practitioners, causing severe injury and in some cases, permanent disability. On November 23rd, 2005, practitioner Wen Jie tried to reason with inmate Xia Guixian in a water utility room, trying to stop Xia from beating practitioners. Xia then used a basin to frenziedly hit Wen Jie. Xia also violently grabbed Wen Jie's hair. Wen Jie became bedridden for two weeks as a result of being assaulted by Xia. The beating raised her blood pressure.

For refusing to renounce her belief, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Rong Cunling was seized by the police again on July 16th, 2008, the same day she finished a one-year term in a forced labour camp. Ms. Rong was sent to the Hezhuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province on July 31st, 2008. This was the third time that she was sentenced to forced labour within three years. Rong Cunling suffers from inhuman treatment in the labour camp. She is forced to work like a slave and is beaten, tortured with electric shocks, and deprived of sleep when she refuses to work. Currently, Ms. Rong is very weak.

Mr. Deng Jiangang has recently been tortured in Wumaping Prison. He is now in critical condition. In 2009, Mr. Deng's family visited him at the prison clinic and found him to be extremely emaciated, and he even had difficulty walking. Due to torture, he was subsequently diagnosed with tuberculosis, high blood pressure, and mitral stenosis. Mr. Deng talked about the excessive punishment that he endured. He was forced to stay in an isolated cell due to tuberculosis and wore a face mask. He was beaten and verbally abused by drug offender Huang Ming and other prisoners. Huang Ming spread bleach powder on Mr. Deng's face, neck and shoulders. Mr. Deng was also covered with a blanket and then beaten. Huang Ming even threatened to kill Mr. Deng.

Since May 7th, 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Xiaomei had been on a hunger strike for eleven days and was on the brink of death. Her family and a lawyer tried to find discover her whereabouts, but in vain. They had asked privately where she and knew that officers from the Yuhua District 610 Office had sent Ms. Feng to a brainwashing centre at the Hebei Province Legal Education Centre. Ms. Feng's mother and son, Tianxing, went to the Yuhua District government to seek help. However, 610 Office head Liu replied that he didn't know Ms. Feng's whereabouts, but said that they could pass things on to her.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Xiaomei was arrested on April 27th, and is being detained at the Shijiazhuan City Police Station. Her whole family steadfastly cultivated in Falun Gong and abided by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and, as a result, were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Police sent Ms. Feng's husband to Shijiazhuan Forced Labour Camp for two years. He was badly traumatized there and was extremely weak by the time he was released in November 2002. He died on October 9th 2003, at the age of 39. Ms. Feng's younger sister was also tortured by police. She was forced to stay away from home and died in 2004.

Mr. Shao Xingbao was sentenced to four years in prison by the Jiaonan City Court on April 24th, 2009. On the afternoon of May 8th, his wife, Ms. Wang Lifang, was arrested by the Beijing Road Police Station. Mr. Shao was previously arrested and sentenced to prison for practising Falun Gong. He was arrested again in the afternoon on February 24th, 2009, by the Beijing Road Police. His wife, Ms. Wang, asked to visit him many times at the police station, detention centre, and police department. She was turned away each time. The Jiaonan City Court did not disclose the April 8th court date to Mr. Shao's family.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Song Xincun, fifty-four years old, is a peasant from Shandong Province. His wife, Yao Qiuhong, is fifty-two. They have a daughter and a younger son. During the past ten years of the persecution of Falun Gong, their family has been together for only two New Year celebrations. The rest of time they have had to stay in different places. They have been arrested and their belongings ransacked. The family's direct financial loss has exceeded two hundred thousand yuan.

Mr. Zhao Jun, a Falun Gong practitioner from Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested by officers from the Qiezihe Police Station during the Olympics on August 29th, 2008. That night, he was tortured and forced to "confess." The next day, Bi Shuqing from the 610 Office and personnel from the police station took him to a forced labour camp. According to incomplete statistics, at least 300 Falun Gong practitioners from Qitaihe City have been subjected to forced labour or sent to prison between 1999 to 2009.

Practitioners Gao Dongdong and Liu Xinli are a couple from Zhongbailou Village, Hebei Province. On the morning of July 21st, 2008, just before the Beijing Summer Olympic Games, seven or eight people from the Pingshan County 610 Office, the Pingshan Town government and the radio and TV broadcasting bureau, broke into Ms. Liu Xinli's home. They confiscated a satellite receiver, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Liu was arrested and sent to the Pingshan County Detention Centre. On August 11th, 2008, she was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour and taken to the Zhijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Tao Yuqin was subjected to the "Big Hang Up" torture in the camp in 2007. The guards handcuffed her left hand to a radiator under a window, and her right hand to a radiator pipe from the roof, then gradually pulled the right handcuff. Ms. Tao's arms were stretched out straight but not parallel to the ground. Her body was bent. As a result, her right arm was injured and became crippled. During the "strict policing", she was subjected to further torture which led to chronic diarrhoea. Ms. Tao was released at the end of 2008. She is unable to bend or move her right arm, hand or fingers.

On the morning of March, 30th, 2009, practitioner Ms. Xue Li was arrested by officers from the Meixi Township Police Station in Yueyang City. She has now been transferred to the local procuratorial agency, who are attempting to sentence her to prison. Ms. Xue Li's sister-in-law went to see Jiang Chao, the head of the Domestic Security Division, to explain the facts about Falun Gong to him, and request that he does not persecute a good person. But Jiang Chao refused to listen and handed Ms. Xue Li's documents over to the Procuratorate. In March 2008, Ms. Xue Li's brother, Mr. Xue Zhongyi, also a practitioner, was arrested by police.

On February 26th, 2009, the police and the 610 Office broke into the home of 59-year-old practitioner, Ms. He Wen, and ransacked it. When Falun Gong materials were found, she was arrested and detained in the Pre-trial Division of Qinghe Jail. For refusing to renounce her belief, on March 16th, 2009 she was sentenced to three years of forced labour by the forced labour directory of the Beijing City government. Ms. He was imprisoned at the Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labour Camp from 2000 to 2002. She was tormented by the prison guards and inmates. Because she held steadfast in her belief, she was taken to the "intensive training" team and put in solitary confinement.

Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, Ms. Li Peiqin had been arrested on several occasions. In August 2005, police arrested Ms. Li and was forcibly dragged her a train bound for Shanghai. When she arrived, the officers detained her at the police station and tortured her with sleep derivation. Two people were assigned to monitor her 24 hours a day. Even though she was in critical condition, the guards refused to release her. During that time, agents from the National Security Division went to Ms. Li's home and work unit to harass her. As a result of their continuous harassment, her health began to deteriorate further. On January 24th, 2009, she passed away at the age of 58.

Practitioners Peng Liang and Peng Weisheng, father and son were arrested by police on May 28th, 2008, under the guise of safeguarding the Beijing Olympics. The police also ransacked their home, tortured and interrogated them, and put them in a forced labour camp. The father was sentenced to a year and a half, and the son to a year of forced labour. They are currently detained in Hewan Forced Labour Camp in Wuhan City. Since the Chinese Communist Party began the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Peng's son, was tortured to death in prison because of his steadfast cultivation in Falun Gong. Mr. Peng's wife was also killed by the police when she tried to expose the torture committed against her son.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ji Baoshan was arrested more than three months ago. At the time of his arrest, his wife was forced to beg for food to care for their two-month-old baby. She wrote her story on a piece of yellow cloth, explaining how her husband was arrested for practising Falun Gong and being a good person, how their home was ransacked, and how they lost their only source of income. She was calling for help.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Xie, 69, and Ms. Yu, 67, were arrested on April 29th, 2009, when they went to the courthouse to attend the trial of Mr. Xie's practitioner brother. Because of their steadfast faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, they have been spied on, tracked, and had their personal belongings confiscated. They were also fined, sent to brainwashing centres and detention centres, and had their home ransacked on numerous occasions. In addition, they had to leave home for long periods of time to avoid being arrested and harassed. Their former employer began withholding their retirement pension in March 2009.

Falun Gong practitioners newly sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp see over ten prison guards with electric batons in the hall on the first floor. The bursting sound of the electric batons and the prison guards' abusive shouting create an atmosphere of horror for the newcomers. After they have been assigned their groups, they take their luggage and go to a hall on the fourth floor, where they are undressed and searched. In the process the prison guards interrogate the practitioners. They want to know whether they had written the so called guarantee statement to denounce Falun Gong. They shock the practitioners with the electric batons before they can even put on their trousers.

Mr. Yin Xunzhen and his wife, Ms. Xu Shujie went to visit their daughter, Yin Qi, and her family in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. On April 10th, 2009 police ransacked their home and arrested everyone. Mr. Yin is detained in Doumen Third Detention Centre, and Ms. Xu and their daughter are detained in Doumen Second Detention Centre. Their son-in-law, Lin Fengbin, has been released. Grandma and Grandpa take care of their three-year-old granddaughter. The two became sick as a result of the incident. Although their son is back, they are very worried about the others.

In February 2009, 610 Office branches from Gansu Province and Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs organized a so-called "specialist group." The group moved into the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre in Lanzhou City and stayed there for two weeks. They threatened to imprison Falun Gong practitioners and attempted to make them give up their faith. In the end, they failed in their goal. On February 20th, 2009, Qi Ruijun, head of the brainwashing centre, got drunk and struck Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Su Jinxiu in the face. Ms. Su's face turned black and blue. Later, practitioner Niu Wanjiang saw her face and asked her what happened. Upon seeing that, guard Qiao Houquan and collaborator[former practitioner who assists in brainwashing and torturing practitioners] Liao Yongtian started beating Niu Wanjiang.

Because she refused to give up Falun Gong, prison guard Wu Xiouli confined Ms. Yao to a toilet for prison guards and fastened her to a chair with her legs stretched in an awkward position. When she was set free, she was unable to walk normally. Practitioner Jiang Xina refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong so the prison guards shackled her hands and hung her up from the toilet window rails, with only her toes touching the ground. When she was set free she had lost the feeling in her arms. In the worst case a practitioner was hung up for ten consecutive days. When set free, her hands and feet were so badly bruised that they turned very dark.

On April 29th, 2009 Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lin Shuling was arrested by officers from the Anqiu City Police Bureau at her home. She is now in the Anqiu City Detention Centre. After Ms. Li started practising Falun Gong in 2005, her cancer was cured. Police officers who took part in the arrest terrified her by claiming, "Practising Falun Gong is a crime. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) does not want you to practise. If you keep practising, you are violating the CCP directives."

Ms. He Ping, 52-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, is an English teacher at the Chengbei Middle School in Jiayu County, Hubei Province. Local police detained her before the Olympics and sentenced her to two years of forced labour. Ms. He is now being tortured in Hubei Provincial Women's Forced Labour Camp. This is the third time Ms. He has been taken to a forced labour camp, where she is again being pressured to give up her belief in Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance. Ms. He has been imprisoned a total of six years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Recently I remembered my fellow practitioner Mr. Yang Zhi. Mr. Yang Zhi followed the principles Truth-Compassion-Forbearance day-in and day out, be it at work or anywhere else. However, in 2005, local police ransacked Mr. Yang Zhi's home and confiscated his computer, printer, Falun Gong books and other items. They arrested him and sentenced him to a seven-year prison term. His son was only two years old then. During the past several years, Mr. Yang Zhi's elderly mother has been so worried about her son's safety that her hair turned white. Moreover, Mr. Yang Zhi's wife had to shoulder the burden of making a living for the entire family.

Ten Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by police when they were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in July 2008. During the arrest, one policeman held a gun, while another held an electric baton and forcibly opened the practitioners' car door. After they found literature exposing the persecution, they forced everyone to get out of the car and get into the police cars. After practitioner Yun Guolin got out of the police car, he ran toward the gate. Wang Xiaofeng chased him and shot him. Yun Guolin fell, and one of his arms was injured. The police hung him up with ropes and beat him. Several of the practitioners were sentenced to long prison terms.

Shortly prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, officials from the Beijing Forced Labour Camp transferred over 100 practitioners who refused to renounce Falun Gong to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. I was one of them. On July 17th, 2008, a guard told me if I admitted that I was wrong in practising Falun Gong, I would be spared, but I refused. The guards sat me on the ground, pushed me forward so my head was against the ground, and handcuffed my hands to separate beds. They moved the two beds in opposite directions. My arms were stretched until they couldn't be stretched any further. It felt like my arms were about to be torn off and my wrists were about to be cut off. Every part of my body was in excruciating pain and I was sweating profusely.

On January 8th, 2009, police arrested Ms. Chen Xiumei. She was sent to the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. Since Ms. Chen refused to cooperate with the officials because she had committed no crimes, the guards brutally tortured her. She started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The head guard ordered the inmates to shock Ms. Chen in the chest, private parts and buttocks. She was slapped and kicked. She endured this torture every day.

Jiangyang District Court officials in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province secretly sentenced Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Ming to five years in prison on January 8th, 2009. He refused to accept the verdict and appealed. The Luzhou City Intermediate Court then commenced a second trial on April 27th, for his appeal. The second trial was the first one in a decade where the lawyers defended Falun Gong practitioners in Luzhou City since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong. The judge deprived Mr. Yang of his right to self-defence. When Lawyer Liu Wei made positive statements about Falun Gong, Judge Li Xudong immediately interrupted him and shouted, "You are promoting Falun Gong!" When Lawyer Tang Jitian cited facts and evidence, the judge did not let him continue.

Falun Gong practitioner Wang Yu is only 18 years old and lives in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Around March 20th, 2009, she was arrested while giving out materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in a market and sentenced to one year at the Hewan Forced Labour Camp. At the brainwashing centre, Wang Yu was jailed in a separate room and closely monitored. She was followed even when she used the toilet. Wang Yu's parents sought her release, but their requests were rejected. The excuse given was that she was not willing to admit her mistake and give up her belief. The parents were told that she wouldn't be released until she writes a guarantee statement promising to give up her belief.

On April 8th, 2009, the Zengcheng City Court opened a court session covertly, to try Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Chunhe without informing her family. During that time, the courtroom was surrounded by police officers. None of Ms. Zhang's family members were present. Before the trial, Zhang Chunhe was detained in the Guangzhou City Military Police Hospital. After that, she was taken to the Zengcheng City Detention Centre. Ms. Zhang has suffered brutal persecution in detention, and she is now critically ill. In the past 3 months, tumours in her body have become bigger and bigger, and her abdomen is swollen.

In November 2008, the police took away practitioner Ms. Pan Chenhong. She was sent to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province. In less than four months, she became mentally disabled due to torture she suffered there. In less than four months, the labour camp tortured the originally healthy woman to the point that she became mentally disabled. The labour camp feared being held responsible and told her family to pick her up. Moreover, the labour camp extorted 2,000 yuan from her family to pay for the medical treatment she received at the labour camp.

I am only nine years old. I am an orphan and no one takes care of me. In 2001, my mum was persecuted to death by policemen from the 610 Office and the National Security Group of Jiahe County, because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. She passed away before I could recognize her. Currently, my dad, Xiao Sixian is jailed in your prison. My dad did nothing wrong. Everybody thought that he was a good person. Please don't torture him any more. My teacher told me that a prison was built to jail criminals. My dad not only did not break any law, but also was a good teacher in his school. Why is he jailed? Does my teacher tell lies? Or, are you guys liars?

In June 2008, 30-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Luo Liteng was sentenced to 10 years in prison and sent to the Hongshan Prison in Huhan City. Mr. Luo's mother went to the Macheng Public Security Bureau to find out about Mr. Luo's whereabouts, but to no avail. Mr. Luo's father, Mr. Luo Kaijun, was tortured to death by the police. In April 2001, police Macheng City brutally beat Mr. Luo Kaijun. As a result, his body swelled, and both his mouth and nose bled. He could not move and was unable eat or drink water for three consecutive days. He was sent to a hospital for an emergency treatment. The brutal beating left his internal organs severely damaged. His health continued to deteriorate under prolonged persecution. On September 23rd, 2002, Mr. Luo Kaijun passed away.

I am Liao Sihua, 51 years old, and the wife of Mr. Li Xianghai. On the afternoon of June 20th, 2008, my husband was secretly arrested by Communist agents at Suyuan Road in the Jiangning Development Zone in Nanjing City. At the same time, they confiscated a computer and a safe box. In the safe box there were accounting documents and funds of 82 thousand yuan (34 thousand of it was cash). They also confiscated my personal printer, 3 mobile phones, 3 MP3 players, and some Falun Gong materials.I do not know his current whereabouts and have not heard from him since his arrest.

Li Yurong, from Dalian, 64-year old, is illiterate, so she inserted some of her own words into the labour camp rules, such as "end the persecution." Liu Yong beat her on the head, neck and torso with a high voltage baton, which caused extreme pain. Liu made Li Yurong read it again. She again read it as "anti-persecution." Liu beat her once more with the baton and punished her by having to stand facing a wall. Sun Xiuzhen, a 45-year old practitioner from Dalian, cried when she saw other practitioners beaten. Policeman Yan took Sun Xiuzhen to the office where he cursed her and punched her head and slapped her.

On June 24th, 2000, my parents, wife and I went to Tienanmen Square to tell people the truth about Falun Gong. We were arrested and detained. Because a large number of practitioners were arrested that day, we were later transferred to the Shijingshan Stadium and detained there. We were held in the stadium in 40 0 Celsius (104 0F) heat that day, but forbidden to use the toilet or drink water. In the evening we were locked up in a cramped, dark room. A policeman asked me where I was from. I did not answer him. Then they punched and scolded me. The next day, about 20 practitioners were transferred to the Mentougou Detention Centre where we were tortured. The criminals who were detained there beat us as soon as we arrived.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Hualian, 56, has been arrested seven times since July 1999 for persisting in her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Ms. Yang was sent to a brainwashing centre twice, sent to forced labour twice, and has been sentenced to prison once. During her detentions, Ms. Yang endured savage tortures, such as electric shocks and beatings. The beatings and other abuses led to a lumbar vertebra fracture, severe back injury, high blood pressure, heart attack, and other problems. She became almost blind and unable to take care of herself. Her employers fired her in September 2008, causing her to lose her only source of income.

On May 12th, "International Nurses Day," nurse and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Xiulan, who was in a deep coma at the time, was put on trial in Qian'an City, Hebei Province. The court did not even notify Ms. Liang Xiulan's family about her trial. The Qian'an City Detention Centre and the brainwashing centre did not want to be held responsible for Ms. Liang's deteriorating health and did not want to keep her in custody. After the trial, the court personnel drove Ms. Liang's physically disabled husband to the court, then took her and her husband home together.

On July 9th, 2008, Ms. Kong Qian and her mother, Li Xiyun, who had already been homeless for over five years, were arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers in their home. A women claiming she needed to check their electric meter deceived them into opening their door. They have now been detained for over 300 days. Long term torture put Ms. Kong Qian's life in danger. She was once taken to a first aid hospital, but CCP officials did not allow her family members or her lawyer to visit her. At the end of March 2009, she was taken to Weifang Detention Centre. After CCP officials had her tortured to the verge of death, her case was then transferred from the Hanting District Procuratorate to the Court.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Xiwen was arrested at his home on March 23rd, 2009. Because he looked at foreign websites, the police intended to sentence him. On April 15th, Mr. Wang's family and the two lawyers that they had hired in Beijing went to the Fengrun Detention Centre to visit Mr. Wang. The detention centre refused to allow them in and told them to talk to the national security team. When his family and lawyers went to the national security team, Chen Ruimin, the team leader, said, "We won't allow you to visit Falun Gong practitioners, since the Falun Gong cases are related to 'state secrets.' The supervisors said they are not allowed to be visited."

On April 16th, 2009, more than ten policemen forcibly entered the home of practitioner Mr. Liu Fuming. They confiscated Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. They also arrested Mr. Liu and his practitioner wife Ms. Shi Huafen. It is said that he and his wife are imprisoned at the Dongpo District Detention Centre. In January 2009, Ms. Shi Huafen was arrested and detained for fifteen days. Now she is imprisoned again. Mr. Liu's elder son studies at middle school and his young son is in kindergarten. His parents are over 70 years old.
