Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Renqing is currently detained in the Tieling City Prison Hospital in Liaoning Province. The doctor said that he is on his deathbed with no hope of recovery. However, the prison authorities still refuse to release him. In 2002, was arrested by officers from the Fushun City First Police Department when he was explaining the facts of persecution to people. He was sentenced to 6 and a half years in prison. Mr. Lu Renqing went on hunger strikes to protest the unjust imprisonment. Due to long term brutal maltreatment in the prisons, he is extremely weak and has been vomiting blood.

On December 17th, 2007, Mr. Liu Guiqing's home was surrounded by three police cars. Police forcefully dragged Mr. Liu Guiqing on to the street and put him into a police car. The police also attempted to kidnap Mr. Liu Guiqing's wife. Mr. Liu's wife argued strongly and interrogated them, "I have not violated any laws. Why do you try to arrest people illegally?" She held the door-frame and would not let them bring her away. After they confiscated their Falun Gong leaflets they detained Mr. Liu. Currently, Mr. Liu is still imprisoned in the Dehui Municipal Detention Centre.

Mr. Xiong Xiuyou was twice sentenced to prison terms for practising Falun Dafa. Both terms were served in the Deyang City Prison. On December 14th, Mr. Xiong's wife rushed to the Police General Hospital after receiving notice that her husband was dying. Prison Office Chairman Wu said to her, "Since Xiong Xiuyou has not cooperated with our treatments, if he dies, all costs and responsibilities are yours!" He died on December 16th, 2007, while serving his second term in prison. His family has been threatened by the Prison Administration not to reveal any details of his death to the outside world.

At around 8 p.m. on October 9th, 2007, approximately 10 police officers broke into the home of Mr. Zhang Qiwang, a Falun Dafa practitioner. While three policemen were watching Mr. Zhang's wife outside the house, the rest went inside to search and videotape their home over Mr. Zhang's objections. The police beat him and handcuffed him. They broke his VCR in all the violence. Then they damaged the door to one room and confiscated 24,800 yuan and his child's computer. Mr. Zhang was taken to Qing County Police Station and later to Handan Forced Labour Camp. He was locked in a tiny, separate cell; deprived of sleep; and not allowed to eat a full meal. In addition to brainwashing him with distorted ideas, labour camp personnel tried to "transform" him with threats related to extending his imprisonment.

On the evening of January 2nd, 2008, Ms. Yang Huirong, in her 60s, and Ms. Wang Lanhua, in her 40s, from Sanhe City, Hebei Province, were arrested by local authorities. On the morning of January 3rd, Ms. Yang's home was ransacked, and her MP3 player, her tape recorder, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. The two women were taken to Sanhe City Detention Centre. Previously, Ms. Yang's daughter, Liu Ying, also a Falun Gong practitioner, became mentally ill and jumped off a building after being brainwashed.

I was arrested by police from Fushun Police Station and was detained for five days and nights, during which time I was not allowed to sleep. They severely beat me and tied my hands behind my back with thin ropes for long periods (the scars have remained). A policewoman made up an interrogation record, and tried to force me to answer questions about whether I practised Falun Gong and/or browsed Falun Gong-related websites. A doctor refused to treat me when he saw the bruises and injuries all over my body. Later I learned that the hospital's director was told by the police that it didn't matter if I died. The police handcuffed and shackled me and ordered inmates to beat me and to stop me from doing the sitting meditation. They force- fed me for thirteen days at the custodial station and then I was transferred to another cell and tortured there.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Han Guangrong is 63 years old. She suffered from several chronic illnesses that disappeared within several months of practising Falun Gong. Ever since, she was determined to be a good person and live by Falun Dafa's principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." However, over the past 8 years, government officials have ransacked her home, arrested her, sentenced her to forced labour camps and prison, and withheld her pension. These perpetrators often harassed and monitored her. Now, Ms. Han has been arrested again. Her continuous suffering has brought great pressure to her entire family.

Ms. Huang Lijun was sentenced to three years' imprisonment in 2002 and detained at Nanjing Women's Prison. The guards continuously shocked Huang Lijun for a long time with an electric baton in the policing rooms of the workshop. When she didn't say anything, the official would yell, "Why don't you cry? If you cry out, I'll let you go!" Huang Lijun did not say a word. Prisoners in the workshop could smell burnt flesh. Those people who still had a conscience were in tears. The guards also tied Huang Lijun to an iron bed for a long time. They secured a heart monitor to her, because this torture can result in shock or death.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liang Yaomin, about 50 years old from Haiyang City, Shandong Province was secretly arrested in August 2007. She has been imprisoned in Yantai City Detention Centre for about six months. Ms. Liang has suffered torture, including brutal beatings, being hung up in the air, and more. One day, they wrapped her head in a prisoner's clothing and brutally beat her until she lost consciousness. After she fainted, she was sent to the hospital for first aid. She was very weak upon awakening. According to inside sources, Ms. Liang was secretly and put on trial twice. The result of the latest trial are unknown.

Mr. Sun Houqin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Danhou Village in Xicheng Town of Weishan County, Shandong Province, and seventeen other local Falun Gong practitioners went to Beijing in the autumn of 1999 to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. Mr. Sun has been missing since then, and there has been no information about him during the past eight years. Mr. Xu LiXin, 39, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Changsha City, Hunan Province. Mr. Xu left home to appeal in Beijing several years ago. He has been missing since then.

38-year-old Ms. Li Hui, a Falun Dafa practitioner, was arrested but then escaped on April 25th, 2007. Afterwards, she was arrested once again and taken to Daqing Detention Centre on September 20th. It has been over three months since her arrest. Police took turns torturing her cruelly for several days and as a result she suffered third degree burns. They forced her to sit in an Iron Chair and did not allow her to sleep for several days. According to inside sources, the Saertu Public Security Bureau authorities refuse to release her and they have attempted to bring accusations to sentence her. Her husband divorced her due to the long term economic and mental pressure from the CCP.

Since 2000, Ms. Guo Fengyu has been subjected to arrest, detainment, forced labour camps and brainwashing sessions. The 61-year-old woman has been given injections with unknown drugs by officers led by Pan Zhipeng, Police Chief at the Chendong Police Station. Each year, the police have gone to her home 3-5 times to ransack it and intimidate her and her family.

I have been subjected to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution, and I had to leave home to avoid further persecution. On April 20th, 2004, I left the home of my relative and rode a bicycle to the home of another relative in Weijia Village. All of sudden, four young men jumped out from the levee and pushed me down. At first, I thought this was a robbery, but when I tried to escape, I saw an older man standing there giving directions to them. I realised that they were policemen, so I shouted, "Falun Gong is good!" Some of the policemen tried to cover my mouth, and some pulled my arms behind my back and forcibly handcuffed me. After that, they pushed me into a jeep with ease since there were almost no passersby around at that time. They took me to the police station dragged me up to the second floor, and slammed me down on the floor.

In late November 2007, political science teacher Huang Yuebin (male) at Mudanjiang Agriculture High School in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province, publicly slandered Falun Gong in class. Freshman student Ms. Cao Rui stood up during the class and pointed out that Huang Yuebin was not correct, in that Falun Gong was not really as he had depicted it. In response, school officials reprimanded Ms. Cao for "disturbing the class." On December 17th, 2007, the school required its student body of more than 5,000 to sign a pledge distancing themselves from Falun Gong, in order to "advocate science and oppose evil cults." Cao Rui refused to sign the pledge and was expelled by the school on December 19th, 2007.

Just before October 1st (China's National Day holiday), Liqingu Town police barged into Ms. Xu Tongyan's home, confiscated her family property, arrested her, and took her to the police station. That night she was hung up and beaten by police officers while she was handcuffed. Later, she escaped. Liqingu Town head deceived her family and said, "Have her come home. We guarantee it will be all right." Her family members believed him, so Ms. Xu was found, and she returned home. The Liqingu Town police promptly arrested her and still have her in detention.

On June 27th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Xiaotang from Tianheng Town in Jimo City, Shandong Province, was arrested and taken to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Zibo City, Shandong Province. Several days later, she was tortured to the point of unconsciousness. Guards took her to the hospital and restrained her with handcuffs and leg shackles. Ms. Song held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Guards force-fed her and tortured her by leaving the feeding tube in her stomach for an extended period of time. The torture left Ms. Song's entire body swollen and in great pain, and her hands trembled violently.

On November 29th, 2007, two groups of police from the Shuozhou City Police Department, Shanxi Province, were sent to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. One group arrested Ms. Ma Ruizhen, who lives in the family compound of the city's party commission. The other group arrested Ms. Zhu Cuiying, who lives in the family compound of the Shuocheng District Bureau of Industry and Commerce. The police ransacked their homes, took away their computers, printers, and other personal items. Ms. Ma Ruizhen and Ms. Zhu Cuiying are now imprisoned at the Shuocheng District Detention Centre in Shuozhou City.

Chief Lei Kejin of Second Team, Seventh Ward of Xishanping Labour Camp in Chongqing City, blatantly instigated drug addicts to force three Falun Gong practitioners to write so-called three statements denying their beliefs. Food deprivation, violence, threats, and sleep deprivation are among the methods used to coerce the practitioners to recant their beliefs. Wen Huaguo struck Deng Liping's with an iron bar. The drug addict, Chen Kang stepped on the chests of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Pan Yuanjun and Mr. Deng Baishou. He struck their backs with his elbow, forced them to squat for two hours, forced them to clean the toilet and wash clothes, and extorted money from them.

Falun Gong practitioner Wu Jiuping previously worked for the People's Hospital in Tianchang City, Anhui Province. On November 22nd, four policemen and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel went to Wu Jiuping's apartment and beat him until he was seriously injured and lost consciousness. In order to cover up their crime, the police officers threw him from the fourth floor of his building and then left. Mr. Wu passed away about 8:00 p.m. that night after he was taken to People's Hospital.

Ms. Li Rong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and police ransacked her home and arrested her. They made a mess and took her two sons' military retirement IDs. They forced both of her sons' employers to fire them, cancelling all their housing funds, retirement pensions, and medical insurance. Ms. Li Rong was sentenced to four years in prison in 2002. Guard Li Xiaohong (female) once dragged Ms. Li so far that her shoes fell off and her clothes were torn from her body. Li Xiaohong stuffed her mouth with rags and had about five prisoners lock her in a small cell for one year. There was water and faeces on the floor. Guard Li Xiaohong collaborated with doctors to put unknown drugs in her meals, causing her to suffer a mental collapse. Later, her whole body became swollen, and she had difficulty breathing and was in great pain. She died in November 2007.

Mr. Che Hongfei is a 37-year-old English teacher and has been arrested many times for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling his students the facts about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Guards instigated inmates to beat him numerous times. His trousers were torn to pieces during the beatings. He has been on a hunger strike for over seven months, and the prison guards have force-fed him from the beginning. On December 27th, 2007, Mr. Che Hongfei was in critical condition. Mr. Che Hongfei's family has requested his release due to his medical condition. The warden has refused, stating that it is up to higher-level authorities to make the decision.

On the evening of November 2nd, 2007, mass arrests of Falun Gong practitioners took place in Anqui City. The police forced open the doors or windows of practitioners' homes, arrested people and seized private belongings. Arrested female practitioners are currently being held at the Anqiu City Detention Centre. A 15-square-metre cell holds 31 people, 21 of whom are practitioners. In the morning they are made to drink dirty dish water, at lunchtime they are given old vegetable leaves boiled in salt water and rancid pickles, and in the evening they have to crowd themselves together on the damp, cold floor. The space is so tight that they can barely turn over.

Mr. Wu Yueqing, a Falun Gong practitioner from Heilongjiang Province, has been holding himself to the standards of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" but has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) many times. He has been arrested, sentenced, cruelly tortured many times, and seriously injured. Currently, Mr. Wu's muscles have atrophied, he has multiple diseases, he can't take care of himself, and he is dying.

My name is Zhang Shengjie. I'm 59 years old and from Harbin City. I was arrested on November 1st, 2005, and sentenced to three years of forced labour. I have been detained in the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp for over two years. I have talked to the division head and explained that Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. The response I got was that all practitioners in detention are required to be "transformed." I cannot understand into what kind of people the CCP wants the practitioners to be "transformed." In such a society with low moral standards, and where money is above all, practitioners follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" to purify their minds and gain good health, and to further improve the moral standards in the society.

Ms. Li Chunyan was imprisoned in Jiamusi City Forced Labour Camp because she distributed leaflets exposing the persecution. In the labour camp, Ms. Li Chunyan suffered severe torture because she protested the persecution and refused to wear a prison uniform. Guards handcuffed Ms. Li Chunyan's hands separately to the corners of a bed and forced her to sit on a small bench for over twenty days. Two big holes began to fester on her buttocks as a result. Her vision has become blurry and she cannot control her bowels or bladder. She is in critical condition and cannot take care of herself.

Ms. Yang Guozheng, 58 years old, is a resident of Songnan Road in Qijiang County. Yang Guozheng suffered all kinds of persecution, including detention, extortion of money and having her house ransacked and property confiscated. Her younger daughter, Wang Jirong, was persecuted until she died. In March 2004, police ransacked her home, arrested her and detained her in the Country Detention Centre for 30 days.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Tang Jiuli, who is in his seventies, was a doctor living in Sichuan Province. On December 26th, 2007, police arrested Mr. Tang Jiuli and two other practitioners: Mr. Chen Zhixue (in his fifties) and Mr. Yang Jinzhong (in his fifties). They ransacked the three practitioners' homes and took them into custody at the Xinglong Town Police Station for several hours. Mr. Tang Jiuli died the next day at home.

There are currently more then 40 Falun Gong practitioners still being detained in Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. Most of them are in their 50s. For those practitioners who were steadfast and refused to be "reformed," the No. 3 Division separated them from the rest of the practitioners and ordered criminal inmates to monitor them. They set times for practitioners to go the toilet and bathe. If there was anything that they were unhappy with, they verbally abused the practitioners. The practitioners were not allowed to speak to one another. The second one practitioner spoke to another, she was beaten and berated. At night, practitioners were forbidden to sleep.

51-year-old Ms. Zhu Guoying, a Falun Gong practitioner, was taken from her home by local police on December 2nd, 2007. Without showing any ID, they only claimed that someone had reported Ms. Zhu for speaking about the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong, and they said they had received orders from upper management to arrest her. In fact, this was just an excuse. The truth is that, with the year end approaching, they wanted to extort some money. Accompanied by relatives, her mother went to appeal but was threatened by official personnel.

Ms. Liu Shuying, a Falun Dafa practitioner detained in Hebei Province Women's Prison, was tortured in the brainwashing centre in the prison by guards of the Eighth Ward on August 12th, 2007. Inmate, Li Fengqin kicked and beat Ms. Liu over a hundred times. Ms. Liu was kicked so severely that there were wounds over her entire body. Some of the wounds took days to heal. This prisoner kicked and beat Ms. Liu and slandered Falun Gong and cursed its founder to try and intimidate her. Ms. Liu talked to Han, the deputy head of the prison, about what was going on, but he did not pay any attention to her. After being tortured for over 70 days, Ms. Liu became so mentally disoriented that she gave in to the brainwashing.

Mr. Wu Jinkui, 57, was arrested and detained several times for practising Falun Gong. Mr. Wu was held in a forced labour camp from March 2001, to February 2002. As a result he lost sight in both eyes, his legs were deformed and he became unable to walk. In May 2004, Mr. Wu Jinkui was arrested once again and detained for two months. He was beaten until he was severely injured and paralysed. An x-ray taken in 2007 in a hospital in Changsha City showed that his entire spine was deformed due to the injuries. He died on May 16th, 2007.

My name is Wang Xiuqing. I live in the Chaoyang District of Beijing. Because I practise Falun Gong, I have been persecuted for eight years and have become disabled. The persecution of Falun Gong by the the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its former secretary Jiang Zemin has not only disrupted my normal life but also brought tremendous pressure and harm to my family. The 610 Office agents have continually harassed my family and me. We have lived under constant fear, which has traumatised us physically and psychologically. During these eight years, I have been detained three times and held in a forced labour camp for a year and a half.

Ms. Chen Liping, a Falun Gong practitioner, suffered persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after it launched the brutal persecution of the spiritual practice on July 20th, 1999. The persecution of Ms. Chen included having her behaviour monitored by co-workers, detention, home searches, sentencing to forced labour, torture, and financial punishment. In the forced labour camp, she was brainwashed by being made to watch defamatory videos and read slanderous materials about Falun Gong 17 hours per day, and put under 24-hour surveillance. Afterwards, she was forced to perform hard labour, sometimes having to work all night.

On September 15th, 2007, eleven Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested when they were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. The practitioners were all held in the Huitong County Detention Centre. Three older practitioners, 82-year-old Nie Yuanxin, 70-year-old Zuo Shuying, and 60-year-old Nie Guixiang, returned home after they had five to ten thousand yuan extorted from them. The other eight practitioners were sentenced to between three and seven years in prison by Huitong County Court.

Ms. Li Yumei has been arrested twice and detained three times because she believes in Falun Dafa. On June 28th, 2007, Ms. Li was arrested and brutally beaten by National Security Division officers. When her daughter, Ms. Zhao Yunfei, tried to stop the men from beating her mother, she was also arrested and detained for 15 days. Agents from the Wanquan County Political and Judiciary Committees, the police, and the procuratorate and court officials all colluded to sentence Ms. Li Yumei to six years in prison. On December 27th, she was taken to the Luquan Women's Prison in Shijiazhuang City.

A practitioner returning from Jiangxi Women's Prison said: "The persecution in Jiangxi Prison is brutal. If you refuse to be "transformed," the guards force you to stand facing the wall from 6:30 a.m. to midnight. Then they transfer you to the activity room from midnight to 2:00 a.m. If you are still not "transformed," you have to stand all day until midnight and then sit from midnight to 3:00 a.m. If you still are not "transformed," you will have to stand all day until midnight and then sit from midnight until 4:00 a.m. If you are still not "transformed," they will not let you sleep. They do not allow practitioners to use water during the winter and only allow practitioners to shower once a week in the summer."

Mr. Zhou Xiaobo, 31 years old, was a physician at Tangxiao Town Hospital in Rui'an City, Zhejiang Province. On November 7th, 2007, he was arrested by police from the local 610 Office and his home was ransacked. Two officers kept Dr. Zhou on the first floor in order to prevent him from intervening. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and a flash drive. The policemen took pictures of his home. After searching, they told Dr. Zhou to sign an arrest warrant attached to a search warrant. They recorded everything that they confiscated. There was no signature on the warrants, which could very well have been forged.

The "Education Ward" (the 9th ward) of Siping Prison of Jilin Province specifically jails and persecutes Dafa practitioners. The ward leader Yin Xiangdong and deputy head Geng Mingcai have forced detained practitioners to go through various brainwashing sessions. They assigned criminals to serve as monitors to watch practitioners all the time. They would follow practitioners wherever they went, be it working, eating, using the toilet, or meeting with their visiting families. They were by the practitioners' side even during sleep. In order to curry favour with prison guards, some monitors used all kinds of torture on the practitioners. Huang Weilin, a practitioner in his 50's, was beaten so badly that he spat up blood

Police officers continue to torture practitioners without any remorse in Qidong County, Hunan Province. They arrest whoever catches their fancy and ransack practitioners' homes. Since the end of May 2007, two practitioners who were forced to leave their homes have gone missing, six practitioners' possessions were confiscated and 15 practitioners were arrested and brutally tortured. Practitioner Ms. Lei Fangmei was arrested on June 26th. She was tortured around the clock for an entire week in attempts to force her to renounce Falun Gong. She was also hung on the window sill and suffered beatings. Her feet were covered with bloody wounds. Her family got her released after trying many different methods and after they paid large bribes for her release.

Six or seven officers from the local police station broke into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Zhiming's home. Xu Zhiming and his family were sleeping. Without showing any documentation, the policemen ransacked the home and then took Xu to the Niuxintai Police Station. They then took him to the Benxi City Detention Centre on the afternoon of April 13th. Returning home 15 days later, Xu Zhiming's family found Xu to be delirious. When he walked, he would stumble and he was even unsteady while seated. Xu was tortured at the detention centre until he was unable to take care of his daily needs. He has become a different person. At hospital he was diagnosed with drug poisoning, indicating that the guards at the detention centre used drugs to persecute Xu Zhiming.

After July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began forcing Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief. The CCP imprisoned perfectly healthy and mentally stable practitioners in mental hospitals and drug rehabilitation centres. Most of the practitioners were injected and force-fed drugs and chemicals that damaged their nervous systems. Some of damage has resulted in blindness, deafness, palsy, amnesia, mental disorders, injury to the digestive system and death. Ms. Lu Xiuli, a 59-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, was arrested when she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in November 2007. She was sent to a mental hospital in Shanghai to undergo persecution and brainwashing.

From August 30th to September 6th, 2007, police officers arrested nine Falun Gong practitioners from Yakeshi City. Practitioner Min Daqing, a 26-year-old employee of the Yitie Electricity Department, was arrested at his workplace. The police confiscated the computer he was using at his workplace. The leaders at his workplace tried to stop the police from taking the computer, but the police forcibly took it away. After this incident, people at his workplace all said that this group of policemen were criminals. Later on, the police broke into Min Daqing's home to confiscate his private computer and Dafa books. Before leaving, they also took 1,300 yuan of his family's money. He has been sentenced to forced labour.

Practitioner Ms. Kang Shurong lived in Tianjin City. She went to Beijing to appeal in 2000, and was taken back by police and sentenced to 18 months of forced labour on December 25th, 2000. In the Tianjin City Women's Forced Labour Camp a drug-addict inmate was ordered to force Ms. Kang to stand for a prolonged period of time when her blood pressure was very high. She was tortured until she was close to death, then bailed out for medical treatment. Police constantly harassed her after she returned home. She died around August 2002, at about 47 years of age.

The December 16th, 2007, release of Dafa practitioner Tan Xiangyu came thanks to the efforts of individuals around the world who possess a vision of justice. Tan Xiangyu endured nearly six months of intense persecution in Hunan Province Women's Prison. She suffers from tuberculosis. Her husband Xie Wutang, who is sixty-seven-years old, is still being held in prison and has developed tuberculosis symptoms.

Usually, the National Security Team will not make an immediate arrest after they have identified a practitioner. They will follow the person for a while and then arrest him. They do not need any evidence to made an arrest. When arresting practitioners, they usually do not drive police cars. Rather, they drive private cars or cars with a private company licence plate. They dress in plainclothes and work in groups of four to five. They do not announce their names and will not give their names even if you ask. Even when they arrest elderly practitioners, they go in a group. They normally leave in the morning between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., since practitioners are usually home at this time. If the practitioner has a job, they go to his workplace. They search the practitioner for the key to his home and then take him to his home to ransack it.

"My name is Wang Xiaoping, Mr. Wang Xiaomin's wife. I am here today to defend my husband. At around 12 midnight on August 20th, policemen Liu Xu, Ma Hongtao, and Ge Bo from Xiaolingzi Police Station and Taihe Police Sub-department climbed over from my neighbour' fence and burst into our house by forcing open a window. My son woke up from the noise. The three policemen seized my husband without giving an explanation. My son shouted, "Don't take my father away!" However, the policemen even threatened my son with guns. That night many villagers came. They asked, "Do you have an arrest warrant?" Liu Xu replied, "No, we are going to release him after taking down some notes." During the past eight years of persecution, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Fengchun was arrested five times and detained and harassed multiple times. On August 31st, 2007, officers from the Chang'an Station stormed into Ms. Yu's home, ransacked her place, took her personal belongings, and threatened her. During her detention, her old sickness recurred, and she died on December 27th, 2007, at the age of 43.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Guo Changyou, 70, lived in Harbin City. He was known as a very kind person that loved to help others, and was loved by all of his friends and family. In 2001, Mr. Guo was sent to a forced labour camp for a two year-term, where he contracted severe tuberculosis. His wife was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2002, and she is detained in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. Mr. Guo was extremely worried when he heard about his wife being tortured in the prison. His illness worsened and he died on December 2nd, 2007.

People who knew Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Feng Yingxiu, Mr. Zhao Zhidan, Mr. Guo Maoquan, and Rev. Mei Zhongquan in Wuxue City, Hubei Province, thought they died due to illnesses. But our investigations indicate that they died as a result of the persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in July 1999. Mr. Guo Maoquan was in his 50s. He had been healthy before and after he began practising Falun Gong in 1997. However, in late 2000, he was taken away by police and put into sack and beaten. Later he was taken to Wuhan City's Shizishan Forced Labour Camp, where he was beaten and kicked in the chest by criminal inmates, which injured his lungs. After being released, his wounds ulcerated and led to his death.

On November 28th, 2007, the Chicheng County Court in Hebei Province held a so-called "public trial" at Qiaodong Court in Zhangjiakou City. Seven Falun Gong practitioners were brought in for a court hearing. Afterwards, Ms. Wang Yuzhen, Ms. Chen Haiyan, Ms. Lin Cuilian and ten practitioners from another area imprisoned at the Shisanli Detention Centre in Zhangjiakou City started a hunger strike to resist the Chinese Communist Party's imprisonment and persecution. Three practitioners became so ill that they were taken to hospital. The current status of the practitioners is not clear.
