Ms. Li Yan (pseudonym), a 36-year-old Falun Gong practitioner was arrested on November 13th, 2003. During the interrogation, they confiscated Ms. Li's personal belongings, including an expensive watch and jewellery and a bank book. A policeman sat Ms. Li on a metal chair and handcuffed both her feet tightly to the chair. Then he asked her if she wanted to eat. Yu Haitao opened a can of rice porridge and turned his back to Ms. Li so that she couldn't see what he was doing. Yu Haitao then turned back to face Ms. Li, stirred the rice porridge with a spoon a couple of times, and told her to eat. Ms. Li spotted a small empty paper bag, the same size as a sugar bag. Ms. Li told them she wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat.

I am a 75-year-old woman. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, I have been imprisoned twice because I refused to renounce or give up the practice. Just because I refuse to give up my belief in Falun Gong and I want to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance to become a better person, the Chinese Communist regime plans to sentence me to seven years in prison. Let me ask a question: Which country in the world has this type of law?! Does any article in the Chinese Constitution justify such treatment? I am now forced to leave my home and go into hiding. Nevertheless, my family, relatives and friends continue to suffer from severe harassment by the police.

Sixty-year-old Ms. Li Yunsheng began practising Falun Dafa with her husband Mr. Gan Zongji in 1997. Public Security authorities frequently broke into Li's home to harass the couple, and took over the house many times. They also closely monitored them, controlling everything including the mail and attempted to force them to "transform," and give up the practice by threatening to eliminate their source of income. Ms. Li's husband suffered a mental collapse, became seriously ill, and passed away in October 2003. The police attempted to arrest Ms. Li and take her to the Public Security Bureau. Li was forced to leave her mother and little girl, and is homeless.

In 2002, police broke into the home of Ms. Lan Guiqin and arrested her. In Hexi Detention Centre, because Ms. Lan insisted on practising the Falun Gong exercises, she was subjected to the "Pig chain" twice, first for seven days and then for six days. When someone is tortured with the "Pig chain," both wrists and ankles are chained together less than twelve inches apart. She could not straighten up her back, put on her clothes, use the toilet, or sleep. The torture is extremely painful. She could not do anything but stay in that position. To protest this abuse, Ms. Lan went on a hunger strike both times.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Long Lianzheng, 70, persisted in practising Falun Gong after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. In February 2001, five policemen tried and failed to open Mr. Long's door with a master key, so they smashed his metal security gate and the front door, rammed a large hole through his wall, and forcibly took Mr. Long to the Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. He was subjected to brainwashing sessions there. He was tortured with brutal force-feeding and several of his teeth were knocked out. He was tortured with various other means including the "Dead Person's Bed." After 6 months, Mr. Long was diagnosed with bone cancer, and he was released on bail for medical treatment. His old sicknesses recurred, and he died on November 2nd, 2007.

Falun Gong practitioner Bi Jiankai went to practitioner Wang Lihua's home. Wang Lihua's neighbour Song Yongping reported this to the community office. Police officers broke into Wang Lihua's home and confiscated two laptop computers, 20,000 yuan, and two Satellite TV receiving systems, and arrested them. Wang Lihua and Bi Jiankai were sentenced to three years of forced labour. They were subjected to inhumane torture in the detention centre. Guards hung Bi Jiankai from a window frame for over five hours, which caused her to lose consciousness. Wang Lihua was also subjected to hanging and electric shocks.

Over the years, officials at Yangjiang Prison have imprisoned and tortured scores of male Falun Gong practitioners. Currently, there are between 20 and 30 practitioners still held there. News from inside the prison has revealed that the prison officials use extreme torture techniques to coerce Falun Gong practitioners into giving up their beliefs. Falun Gong practitioners' core principles are Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Many officials seek rewards from their government for successfully persecuting these practitioners. One can only wonder how torturing good people into giving up their faith can produce any good results.

Mr. Ni Wenkui, 45, was a Falun Gong practitioner. The police sentenced him to three years in prison in June 2003. During that time, he suffered inhuman abuse. He was often beaten and not allowed to sleep. In the last ten months of his life, he was in a vegetative state and could not take care of himself. Mr. Ni died on November 12th, 2007.

Ms. Yang Sufeng, 49, steadily followed the teachings of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and tried to be a better person. She soon improved her health, both physically and spiritually. Then someone reported her when she was distributing informational materials exposing the persecution in a rural area in March 2005. Personnel from the 610 Office and the Gejiu City Police Department had her sentenced to forced labour for two-and-a-half years. Ms. Yang was subjected to brainwashing and mentally pressured when she was in the First Forced Labour Camp of Yunnan Province. She was so severely injured, both physically and mentally, that she was very weak when she was released in June 2007. She passed away in a hospital on November 11th, 2007.

Cheng Xiaodong (male) is head of the 610 Office in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Since July 20th, 1999, he has used all kinds of ruthless tactics to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, many practitioners have been detained, taken to the brainwashing centre, or taken to the mental hospital for persecution. Some of these practitioners have also been taken to the forced labour camp. Two of those who have been been imprisoned are Mr. Zhang Xuefeng and Ms. Liu Kaimei. This couple has been sentenced to long prison terms by the Xiaguan District Court in Nanjing City.

Hong Hong is only seven years old. Unfortunately, a few days ago, she was arrested with her mum and dad, Mr. Tong. Mr. Tong originally believed the slander and hate propaganda about Falun Gong that was broadcast and published by the television and newspaper media when the persecution started in July 1999. When he went abroad, he discovered that the CCP had spread lies about Falun Gong. On October 11th, 2007, Hong Hong went out with her parents to visit a friend's family. On their way home, several police officers forcefully took the family away to the police station. Hong Hong was very frightened, crying all the time. That same day, Mr. Tong was sent to Haiwei Detention Centre. Hong Hong and her mother were later released and allowed to go home at midnight.

On June 7th, 2005, guards Li Fengjiang and Zhang Dezhi Daqing City Prison urged inmates to forcibly "reform" practitioner Xu Jishan. They stripped off his clothes and tied him to bed boards (the two boards were crisscrossed), and threw him into the urinal in the toilet. They poured cold water on him from taps and basins for four hours, which resulted in Mr. Xu's choking death. When the inmates realised Mr. Xu Jishan had died from their abuse, they hurriedly reported this to guard Zhang Dezhi. They put clothes on Xu Jishan's body and hastily carried him to the Daqing City Prison Hospital. The 7th Division head Li Fengjiang convened a meeting and told the inmates that Xu Jishan had died of a heart attack. In addition, they threatened the inmates not to speak at will.

On October 4th, at 5am, 8 people from Shenzhou City police station and Dongan village township police station drove to practitioners Wang Qinghui and Guo Yanchun's home in Xiyangtai village, Dongan township. The police broke into their home by climbing over the wall, arresting them and confiscating one laptop computer, one printer, one copier, some DVDs and one satellite receiver. The following day, Lu Xiaoli from the same village was also arrested. In the evening of October 3rd, police from Yuke township government, Shenzhou City, drove to the home of practitioners Zhang Yunhui and Song Guiling. They were arrested as they returned from corn harvesting in the field and taken to the township judiciary department where they were brutally beaten.

Practitioner Zhou Jinpeng was arrested in September 2004 when police raided a site producing leaflets exposing the persecution. Zhou was sentenced to seven years in prison. Warden Zhang forced Zhou to write statements renouncing Falun Gong, and Zhang often ordered Zhou to stand at attention for hours on end. He also shocked Zhou with a 300 kilovolt electric baton for one hour. Zhou was shocked three times during his first 6 months in Chifeng Prison. Inmates often took part in the torture. They wrapped Zhou in a big blanket, then over a dozen inmates punched, kicked, and rammed him.

Mr. Zhong Mingwen and Ms. Tao Ying were distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. They were reported to the local authorities and arrested on March 25th, 2007 by police. The police confiscated a laptop computer, a printer, two pairs of AC powered speakers, over 60 blank CD's, and numerous Dafa leaflets. The couple was detained in the Jinghe County Detention Centre. They refused to obey the police's orders or wear the inmate uniforms. Thus the detention centre director Yu Lujun beat them with a baton over 30 times. The next day they refused to count off and were handcuffed and hung for 4 hours. Then the following day they were hung for over 10 hours, during which time the policeman Guan Ning kicked them violently.

I was arrested by police from Dongguan City for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution, and was sentenced to four years in prison. I was detained in Sihui Prison and subjected to brainwashing and forced hard labour, which resulted in great trauma to my physical and spiritual health. There are 50 to 60 practitioners currently in Sihui Prison. The guards in the prison have instructed inmates to watch practitioners around the clock. Practitioners are deprived of sleep for long periods of time and only allowed to sleep two hours per day. They are forced to sit on small stools for extensive periods of time. Mr. Zhuang Wenshu was handcuffed and shackled for two years. He is now very frail. Mr. He Jingru was mistreated for a long time. He went on a hunger strike and was force fed through a tube. He is in very poor health.

On April 27th, 2007, practitioner Ms. Zhang Bo was taken to the Jilin Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City because she continued to practise Falun Gong. Zhang Bo had no contact with other detainees and was watched by two prisoners, former practitioners who had written the "Four Statements" to renounce Falun Gong. She was forced to watch videos that slandered Dafa and ordered to write down her "feelings", which she refused. Wei Dan tortured Zhang Bo with an electric baton, and her heart contracted with every shock. Another time, she was forced to stand from 5:10 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for twelve days, after which her feet and legs were badly swollen. Later, guards tortured Zhang Bo with electric batons until the batons ran out of batteries.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Zhiyong from Changchun City was arrested again on October 26th, 2007 and taken to Jilin Prison. The Communist agents intend to sentence Mr. Li Zhiyong to prison. His parents looked for him everywhere. Eight days later they were informed that Mr. Li Zhiyong had been arrested and was being held at Jilin Prison. His father went to the prison to meet him, but the guards forbade the visit. Mr. Li's parents went to the Jilin Province Judiciary Department to report the situation. When the guard heard it was related to Falun Gong, he said, "Our higher-ups forbid all reports on Falun Gong." A letter that his family had mailed to the head of the Jilin Prison was also returned.

Ms. Liu Jingzi is a graduate student attending Beijing Normal University. After Jiang Zemin's [former leader of China] communist regime launched the persecution of Falun Dafa, one of Ms. Liu Jingzi's classmates was reported one day when she was informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong and dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice, and she was detained by the police. Later, the police found Ms. Liu and searched her dormitory under the excuse of "collecting information." She was subsequently arrested. Now Ms. Liu and her classmate have been sentenced, she for two years and six months, and the other woman for five years. They are currently detained in Beijing.

Ms. Wang Xiaoyun from Weifang City, Shandong Province received the invitation to participate in the New Tang Dynasty TV's (NTDTV) International Chinese Vocal Competition in New York. She signed up to take part and as a result was arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. She was carried into a police car and taken to the Railway Police Station. The persecutors handcuffed her and tied her up all night, which injured her badly and made it hard for her to walk. Ms. Wang was released on medical parole on October 28th, 2007, after having suffered torture at the hands of the police.

Ms. Li Zhenglin from Jiujiang City, Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province, was arrested and confined in the county detention centre by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel. She started hunger strikes several times to protest the persecution. The authorities not only refused her family's requests to visit many times, but also claimed that her case had already been transferred to the city procuratorate.

In July 2007, fifteen Falun Gong practitioners from Chengguan Town, Buyunqiao Town, and Guanjiazui Town of Qidong County were arrested. Several of them were sentenced to forced labour camps. Wang Meihua was released after the police extorted 20,000 yuan from him. Kuang Zongyao was reported for stamping information dispelling the state propaganda attacking the practice on paper currency. Kuang Sen was arrested for selling and installing a satellite receiver for New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV), a TV company that broadcasts programmes exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Most of the practitioners were arrested for possessing Falun Gong materials. Most of them were seriously beaten. Kuang Sen was beaten for seven days. Peng Fang was beaten to the verge of death.

Ms. Chen Qi, 45, a former sales person at the Jiujiang Transportation Bank, has been brainwashed, and sentenced to imprisonment because she is practising Falun Gong. Previously, in February 2003, Chen Qi was imprisoned in Jiangxi Women's Prison, where she was inhumanely tortured. While she was in prison, her husband, under great pressure, was forced to divorce her, and a once happy family was destroyed.

Mr. Zhou Lianghua, was a high school teacher. He has been persecuted by the local Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials since the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999. On July 31st, 2005, he was arrested for advocating the resignation of people from the CCP. Since then, he has been imprisoned at the Shiliping Labour Camp in Zhejiang Province. The camp administration has denied his family the right to visit him for more than two years now. Mr Zhou's family has received no word about his condition, and are extremely worried.

On the morning of October 25th, 2007, while Mr. Cai Jichun was out earning his livelihood riding his tricycle, Mr. Cai was followed, arrested and then taken to the Yi County Police Department by police. Afterwards, four or five officers searched his home and seized Dafa books and some leaflets exposing the persecution. They took his wife to the office of the State Security Division, where she was interrogated. Later, she began twitching and went into shock, so the officers allowed her daughter to take her home. Mr. Cai was taken to the Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention centre and his tricycle was confiscated by the State Security Division.

On September 14th, 2007, the police sent four cars to practitioner Mr. Li Lianbing's home to arrest him. During the arrest that day his home was searched and his property was confiscated, including a notebook computer, printer, CDs, motorcycle, and over 3,000 yuan in cash. The police also took away many other household items. Due to Li Lianbing's family being poor there were hardly any valuable items in the home. The police even took several cooking pots.

Wang Kai, an official of the fifth battalion in Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, has actively followed the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) policy of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners since he was promoted from instructor to the post of commander. In order to protest the persecution, Yu Huai, a practitioner, went on a hunger strike. Wang ordered criminals to force-feed him with a tube. Mr. Yu was slapped twice for not cooperating. Even when Mr. Yu became extremely weak and was in critical condition, he wasn't released. He died in April 2007 as a result of this persecution.

Ms. Huang Jinglan endured a huge amount of pressure from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime, her employer, and her husband, which damaged her mental and physical health. After 1999, the persecution of Falun Dafa in China started, and Ms. Huang went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested. Guards in the detention centre and other prisoners conducted body searches, forced her to go through brainwashing sessions, extorted 5000 yuan from her, and deducted her salary and regular bonus pay. She became ill and was bedridden by the Spring of 2001. She died at the end of June 2001 at 62 years of age.

On September 19th, 2007, officers from the Tongxin Police Station took Ms. Xue Liangyan into custody and searched her home. She has been detained in the Erzhigou Detention Centre. Recently, the officers signed a fake arrest warrant as a reason to keep her in detention and to trump up charges to sentence her. It is said that the diseases that Ms. Xue suffered from prior to practising Falun Gong have relapsed and she is experiencing bleeding from her cervix. On the same day that Ms. Xue was taken into custody, her son and daughter-in-law, who are not practitioners, were also detained and not released until that night.

Mr. Long Guande, 43, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Guangdong Province, was severely injured from police beatings when he was arrested. Mr. Long sustained severe internal injuries, and he had blood in his urine and stool for an entire week. He also has chest pains, difficulty breathing, and continuous coughing. He is detained in the Third Detention Centre in the Baiyun District of Guangzhou City. He has refused to sign the arrest warrant.

Ms. Song Lianying went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was brutally beaten by police officers at Tiananmen Square on January 1st, 2001. She was later imprisoned for three months at a detention centre in Huanggang and later sentenced to one year in a forced labour camp. Afterwards, she was sent to the Shizishan "Drug Rehabilitation Centre." Although the guards brutally beat her with three electric batons, Ms. Song refused to obey their unjust commands. She was then sent to the Shayang Forced Labour Camp in Hubei Province, where she was beaten again with electric batons. Her hands and mouth were swollen and blistered as a result of the cruel torture.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Guilian began cultivating Falun Dafa in 1997. Her heart disease was cured, and she had been very healthy for the past ten years. On April 26th, 2007, she was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong at the Jindu Market in Zhuzhou City. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour. As soon as she arrived at the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, she was force-fed unknown drugs for more than three months. Ms. Chen died 150 days after being arrested and only 15 days after being bailed out of the labour camp for medical treatment, at the age of 57. The torture methods used in Baimalong Labour Camp are very evil, such as injecting nerve-damaging drugs, hanging people by their handcuffs from the window frame, brutal force-feeding, forcing practitioners to stand on the legs of an upside-down wooden stool.

When a practitioner arrives at the prison, guards assign several inmates to closely monitor him. They force the practitioner to report to them and ask for permission for everything they wish to do. They follow the practitioner everywhere, even into the toilet. The guards try to "transform" practitioners and force them to watch materials that slander and defame Falun Dafa. They force practitioners to stand from morning to evening, run for a long time, expose them to the baking sun, or make them stay in a fixed position for a long time. Former Professor Lin Chenglai from Jimei University resisted the inhuman treatment. Therefore, guards ordered inmates to hold him to the ground and beat him. The Political Commissar of the prison said, "This is not called beating. This is called 'education.' Do you understand?"

Due to the recent 17th Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Congress, the visitation schedule at Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp was disrupted. The guards have been harassing the visiting family members and turned them away without granting visitation. There were practitioners on long term hunger strikes and in critical condition in the labour camp. The labour camp authorities forced their family members to come from far away to help persuade the practitioners to stop their hunger strikes and give up Falun Gong. If the family members failed in their efforts, the labour camp continued to imprison the practitioners. Furthermore, they denied family visits the next day, which was an official visiting day.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Shunmin is in his 50's. In 2002, because he spoke out for justice for Falun Gong to local residents, he was arrested. Police beat him so savagely that he passed out four times. Before his trial, the local authorities were afraid that he would speak out in court and so policemen picked Lu Shunmin up, held him as high as five feet, then dropped him to the ground. Lu Shunmin lost consciousness immediately. He was then sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Several inmates forced open his mouth and poured faeces and urine into it. They also burned his finger and tongue with a cigarette lighter, and forced him to squat for a long period of time. In July 2007, the prison authorities told Lu Shunmin's family members that he was missing. As of today, his whereabouts is unknown.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Suye talked about Falun Gong to people in a market on October 3rd, 2007. Someone ignorant of the facts about Falun Gong reported her to the police, and they arrested Ms. Yu and ransacked her home. Police sentenced Ms. Yu to one and a half years of forced labour on November 3rd. She is presently being held at the Jiangshuiquan Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jinan City. During Ms. Yu's incarceration in the forced labour camp, the guards have detained her in solitary confinement to persecute her. Her family members have been to the forced labour camp and requested to meet with her. However, the guards have denied their request with the excuse that Ms. Yu is too firm in her belief.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Guizhi is 62 years old. Around 4:00 a.m., a guard found Ms. Zhang reading Dafa articles in her bedroom. Later that morning Guard Jia Hongyan continuously shocked Ms. Zhang with an electric baton for an extended period of time. Practitioner Ms. Xu Mingying is 50 years old. In August, 2007, a prisoner reported that Ms. Xu had Falun Dafa materials. Guard Yang Liqiu (female) hit Ms. Xu's mouth and shocked her with an electric baton. Ms. Xu's teeth were knocked loose and she now has difficulty eating.

On the morning of October 14th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Yuhua, 57 years old, was arrested by eight police officers. At the time of the arrest, she was taking care of her husband who was ill and receiving intravenous injections. Ms. Chen is currently being detained at the Heze City Detention Centre. She has been arrested eight times previously, and was sentenced to forced labour twice. Because of her recent arrest, Ms. Chen is unable to care for her elderly parents and her ailing husband.

Agents from the Macheng City 610 Office and police from the State Security Division arrested almost thirty Falun Dafa practitioners. Mr. Bai Zijian was arrested and his wife, Ms. Zhang Shuiying, was severely beaten, leaving bruises all over her body. The results of the beating were photographed by empathetic neighbours. Recently, agents from the 610 Office have repeatedly harassed Ms. Zhang and her mother-in-law.

Ms. Cui Shengyun was arrested by officials from the Jiamusi City Public Security Bureau and the National Security Bureau on May 19th, 2007. The court sentenced her to a five-year prison term. Due to physical and mental torture, she suffers from serious heart disease. She is extremely weak, and at times she is unable to walk steadily. Although her family members have tried to visited her many times, they have been consistently denied.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Aiyun has been imprisoned and persecuted in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for two and half years. She was imprisoned in solitary confinement many times, totalling more than a year. While imprisoned, she protested by going on hunger strikes many times. She is force-fed twice a day and suffers greatly. In a previous detention, police suspended and beat her, and fed her with pepper water. They connected electrical prods to the toes of both feet and shocked her with an electric baton.

In 2002, when Mr. Liu Xianyan,was exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies to students at the Guangchang Middle School, he was arrested by personnel from the 610 Office and imprisoned first for four months, followed quickly by another four months detention. As a result of this harassment, Mr. Liu suffered a mental collapse. His wife, unable to cope with his mental condition, later divorced him. With the kind help and care of other practitioners, Mr. Liu's mental condition gradually improved. In 2005 he was again arrested. Under the intense pressure in the brainwashing centre, Mr. Liu wrote the "Three Statements" to renounce Falun Gong, against his will. The constant threats and harassment caused Mr. Liu to have another mental breakdown, which the 610 Office used to try to convince people that Mr. Liu had become insane from practising Falun Gong.

Mr. Yu Yongquan, 45 years old and a college graduate, died in March 2003 as a result of persecution in Hongweixing Prison. Wang Hongde, 56 years old, was incarcerated in the prison in 2002 and suffered a heart attack. The prison did not allow medical parole until Mr. Wang's hands and feet had turned blue and he was at the brink of death in April 2005. He died two weeks later. Zhang Zhong, 35 years old, died in October 2006 in the Harbin City Police Hospital. Li Lizhuang, 33 years old, was brutally tortured by ten criminal inmates. His clothes were removed and he was put into a waist high bath barrel filled with cold water. The inmates then poured cold water on his head and body. They also scraped his ribs with hard material, gagged him with dirty rags, and pulled and squeezed his private parts, which still pain him today.

On October 15th, 2007, Mr. Qi Tingsong, 67, went to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in Gouli Village, Gaozhuang Town. He was arrested, and police tried to have Mr. Qi sentenced to forced labour. Mr. Qi went on a hunger strike to protest. He was rushed to Laiwu City Hospital for emergency treatment. The police refused to pay his medical costs, so the hospital stopped his intravenous drips and medications. Mr. Qi discharged a large quantity of blood from his rectum while unconscious, possibly from internal injuries. Before being arrested, Mr. Qi was very strong and healthy, with no illnesses and very optimistic and active. However, he was tortured to death in only 26 days.

Mr. Wei Shijun is from Beijing. He is currently detained in Qianjin Prison, and according to an reliable source, his liver and a kidneys are both severely abnormal, and his health is very poor. The prison administration has refused to release him for medical treatment despite the fact that his family has applied to bail him out. Qianjin Prison still tries to force him to do hard labour, and tortures and brainwashes him. They finally allowed him skip the hard labour at his family's persistent urgings.

At 3 p.m. on September 23rd, 2007, Ms. Li Jianying was arrested. She was at a shop owned by her family when agents from the municipal 610 Office and police arrested her. The incident was witnessed by many bystanders. Without going through any legal procedures, police officers handcuffed Ms. Li in public and dragged her into their vehicle. When her brother arrived, he challenged the officers as to why they were arresting his sister. He ended up being beaten by police officers and arrested as well.

In September and October 2007, police officers from the National Security Team of the Muling City Police Department arrested five practitioners, who had been distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Dafa, and put them in the Muling City Detention Centre. The five practitioners have been on a hunger strike to protest the detention and persecution and are now extremely weak. They are in dire condition.

Situated near a small shopping centre in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a forced labour camp for women. This is a sinister place where over 46 Falun Dafa practitioners are held in confinement. On October 15th, 2006, Ms. Liu Taojiang was beaten so badly by warden Hong Yuanqu that she was sent home immediately by the guards, who wanted to avoid responsibility for her death. A month later, just when Liu was well enough to get out of bed, she was again taken back to Shanxi Forced Labour Camp. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest. Seeing that Liu was dying, the camp officials quickly ordered her family to take her home. Liu slowly recovered two weeks later. Again, the camp officers came and took her away. She has not been seen since.

After the the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu Hongxia was detained twice, and the CCP attempted to brainwash her three times because she refused to give up her belief. On July 14th, 2006, as Ms. Liu was selling her wares at the Jilin City grocery wholesale market, a few plainclothes officers came to arrest her. The police officer at the police station said, "In dealing with Falun Gong, we don't have to abide by the law." She was transported to the Jilin City Detention Centre, where guards noticed that she wasn't able to walk normally and she was covered in bruises. Later, Ms. Liu was then taken directly to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp. She was locked in a confined cell for 80 days straight and became infested with scabies.

On August 2nd, 2007, Chengdu resident and Falun Dafa practitioner Jiang Zonglin was arrested. His whereabouts is still unknown. Both Fuqin Police Department of Chengdu City and the State Protection Brigade of Jinniu Public Security Sub-bureau are denying any responsibility. They refused to notify Jiang's family members of his current situation. The Fuqin Police and the National Security Brigade of Jinniu Public Security Sub-bureau are, however, most likely involved in this situation.
