Exposing the Brainwashing Centre at the Jingzhouyuan Hotel in Dahao Village, Tongzhou District, Beijing

The Jingzhouyuan Hotel is a place the rich and powerful often visit to entertain others and to have fun. However, this building is also the site of a private prison the Chinese Communists use to detain and to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners. For each suite of the hotel there are typically three security guards, two medical professionals, and two “assistants.” The assistants are often former practitioners who were brainwashed. They often pretend to care about the practitioners, keeping them company and chatting with them. However, they deftly use brainwashing techniques to interfere with the practitioners' belief in Falun Gong, while the threat of brutality is ever present from the guards and medical staff. -
Ms. Liu Yuqin Arrested, Her Visually-Impaired Husband and 80-Year-Old Mother Left on Their Own
2011-07-22Ms. Liu Yuqin, 53, was arrested by police when visiting a Falun Gong practitioner friend on June 25th. She has been held in the Yaojia Detention Centre for 15 days. Ms. Liu's husband has been visually impaired since 1999, and her mother, who is 80 years old, lives with them and their child. The care of the entire family fell on Ms. Liu's shoulders. She is the mainstay of the family. Ms. Liu's family has never received either a formal or an informal notice regarding Ms. Liu's arrest from any police station or governmental department. -
Ms. Li Yushu Brutally Beaten by Inmates in Heilongjiang Women's Prison
2011-07-22Ms. Li Yushu, 62, was subjected to a year of forced labour for practising Falun Gong in 2000, then sentenced to twelve years in prison in 2002. She has been imprisoned in Heilongjiang Women's Prison since January 2003. In February 2001 guards beat, kicked and stomped on Ms. Li. Minghui website [Chinese version of the Falun Gong website Clearwisdom.net] has reported on the violence and torture against Ms. Li in the prison several times. The latest report was in September 2010. -
Physician, 60, Attempts to Sue the Forced Labour Administrative Committee
2011-07-22Practitioner Ms. Nan Tianping hired a lawyer in Beijing on June 20th, 2011, to sue the Forced Labour Committee of the Beijing Municipal Government in the Western District Court for sending her to a forced labour camp. However, the court refused to register the case. When the lawyer went to the court he was told: "This is a political issue, so the court will not register it. There is no law to deal with this case.” -
The Persecution of Mr. Li Jianguo and His Wife, Zhao Shulan
2011-07-22Mr. Li Jianguo and his wife Zhao Shulan were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because they firmly believe in Falun Gong. Mr. Li was sentenced to three years in a labour camp in 2000. In May 2011, the couple was arrested again. Their home was ransacked, and they were both sentenced to one year in labour camp, with the sentence being served outside of the labour camp. -
Elderly Ms. Xu Jinling's Entire Family Persecuted
2011-07-21Ms. Xu Jinling, 75, is a Falun Gong practitioner. Everyone in her family practises Falun Gong, and everyone has been persecuted numerous times over the past ten years. Her husband, Mr. Xu Zhigang, passed away on July 24th, 2006. On May 8th, 2011, Ms. Xu went to Binhe Road in Lianzhou to distribute Falun Gong materials to people. She was arrested and taken to the police station. After she explained the facts about Falun Gong to the police and her family requested her release, she was released at the end of the day. However, the whole process took a toll on her both physically and mentally. Even now, she still feels chest pain, dizziness, vomits blood, and has no appetite. Not only that, the authorities often monitor and follow her. -
The Persecution I Saw and Experienced in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-21On January 27th, 2010, I was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong. Because I refused to tell them my name, they beat me. My mouth was bleeding, and both sides of my chest were severely injured as a result of being hit and kicked. I could not turn over in bed at night, and it was even hard to breathe. In March 2010, I was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Guards tied me to a “stretching bed” torture device and began to stretch me while blowing cigarette smoke in my face. My face was covered with tears. They increased the tension, and the pain was excruciating. -
A Personal Account of the Persecution of Ms. Deng Lijuan
2011-07-21On July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. My husband and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice but were arrested and sent back to Yushu City. We were held in the detention centre and tortured for two months before being released. At that time, my six-year-old son was at home alone, without with no one to cook for him or take care of him. In 2002 police again arrested my husband and I. I was tortured in the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City for one year and my husband was tortured for three years. He died on April 7th, 2004, three days after he returned home. -
Ms. Sun Lianjun Suffers Internal Injuries From Beatings by Prison Guards at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2011-07-21On May 31st, 2010, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Sun Lianjun. Ms. Sun was then sentenced to two years of forced labour and is now being detained in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Around June 20th, 2011, when her family came to visit her at the forced labour camp, she came out of a small cell, emaciated and unkempt. Her family asked the prison guards what was going on. A guard said, “She did not cooperate, and she shouted 'Falun Gong is good'.” They threatened to extend her term. She was beaten by guards, causing her severe internal injuries and intense pain. She was held in a small cell and made to perform forced labour. -
60-Year-Old Ms. Shi Yingchun Beaten to Death in Liaoning Women's Prison - Additional Information
2011-07-20Practitioner Ms. Shi Yingchuna was arrested and sent to the First Squad, Eighth Prison District of the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. In prison, she refused to give up practising Falun Gong, so the prison guards ordered eight prisoners to beat her. The beatings lasted from the night of March 27th, 2010 until the following morning. She was then sent to the hospital, where she later died. -
Practitioners Arrested in Shenzhen City
2011-07-20Five Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by the Shenzhen City police on June 21st. Mr. Liu Xiaoguang, 33, is being held in the Longgang Detention Centre. When Mr. Liu’s aunt arrived in the detention centre, she was told that she could not see him, and that Mr. Liu was facing a minimum three-year term for practising Falun Gong. -
High Voltage Electroshock Torture Tools Used at Panjin Prison
2011-07-20On April 19th, 2009, guards at Panjin Prison in Liaoning Province severely tortured Falun Gong practitioners. At 1:00 p.m. that day, guards forcibly took practitioners Mr. Huang Lizhong and Mr. Gong Wanyou to a confinement team that brutally tortured them for four hours. The torture was administered for three consecutive days, and ended at 3:00 p.m. on April 21st. The torture consisted of shocking the practitioners' entire bodies with 1.5 million-volt electric batons, and beating their faces and heads with the soles of shoes. As the result of the cruelty, Mr. Huang Lizhong and Mr. Gong Wanyou were covered with cuts and bruises. Their faces, lips, and heads were deformed by the resulting swelling. It was difficult to recognise who they were. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Arrested for Having “Too Much Traffic at Your Home”
2011-07-20Ms. Shi Jing was arrested by Daqing city police recently for having “too much traffic” at her home. On June 21st, police went to arrest Falun Gong practitioner Shi Jing. She wasn't home, so they ransacked her home instead. When she heard what was happening, she went back to her house. Seeing what the officers were doing, she asked, “Why are you ransacking my home? Do you have a search warrant?” Police officer Chen said, “We don't need a search warrant to arrest people like you.” She was then arrested and taken to the Daqing city first detention centre. -
Mr. Jiao Lingyun Dies in Custody in Heilongjiang Province
2011-07-19On June 10th, more than a dozen police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiao Lingyun from his work and also arrested practitioners Ms. Dai Lixia and Ms. Luan Xiuyuan who worked in the dining hall. The police twice ransacked Mr. Jiao's home, extorted 3000 yuan from him, and detained him in the Jixian County Detention Centre. On July 8th, just 29 days later, he died in custody. A witness said that Mr. Jiao died upon arriving at the hospital. He was as thin as a skeleton and had bruises on his head and an obvious black scar on the left side of his neck. His clothes were wet, and his face was dark purple. -
Torture Methods: Dislocating Joints
2011-07-19Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Xianming was held in Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. The guards twisted his arms 360 degrees until they came out their sockets. Guard Zhu Shenglin violently shook his dislocated arms, and Mr. Sun screamed in horrible pain. He was on the brink of death within a year in the labour camp. After returning home, he had an X-ray at the city hospital, which showed his upper arms were broken and twisted 90 degrees. He underwent surgery and had his bones re-set, but he lost the use of his arms.
