Thirty-six Practitioners Sent to Forced Labour Camp after Large-scale Arrests in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province

Over 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Harbin and Shuangcheng City were arrested on November 13th, 2011. Among these practitioners, 36 have been sent to forced labour camps and seven are facing court trials and possible prison sentences. Ms. Wang Min is a physics teacher. She is in charge of a 9th grade class that will soon take the critical senior high school entrance exams. One of her students said, “My best luck in life is that I met Teacher Wang Min.” One of her students even quit school because Ms. Wang was sent to a forced labour camp. -
Elderly Ms. Zhou Suqiong from Jintang County, Chengdu City, Dies after Being Tortured in Custody
2012-04-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Suqiong, 74, received a notice from the Shuicheng Police Station on October 27th, 2011, saying that she should go to the police station to have her photo taken for a new identification card. At 11:00 p.m. that day, police notified Ms. Zhou's son to get Ms. Zhou, who was in a coma. But the officer lied, saying, “She is asleep. Don't wake her up.” Ms. Zhou's son carried his mother home. The next morning, Ms. Zhou didn't wake up. They then found bruises on her back, adhesive tape on her chest, and excrement in her mouth. Her son realized that he had been deceived and took his mother right away to hospital. Ms. Zhou passed away on February 8th, 2012. Her family did not dare talk to other Falun Gong practitioners about the situation due to the authorities' threats and financial restrictions. -
Mr. Shi Zenglei Beaten, Dragged Behind a Motorcycle, and Scalded with Boiling Water
2012-04-05Mr. Shi Zenglei's mind and body improved tremendously after he began to practise Falun Gong. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting practitioners in July 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal and was held at a detention centre. In 2002, Mr. Shi was arrested and sent to a brainwashing centre. Guards beat Mr. Shi brutally. They also bound both his hands with wires and tied him to a motorcycle, drove it, dragging Mr. Shi behind. His flesh was ripped open. Lei Yancheng, head of the Mengyin 610 Office, poured boiling water over Mr. Shi's face and body, causing burns in many places. Mr. Shi was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, sent to Shandong Province Prison and beaten. -
Grandma Wang’s Tears
2012-04-04Grandma Wang had a happy life before 1999. Since July 20th, 1999 when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong, Grandma Wang’s second daughter lost her life as a result of the persecution; her son-in-law was sentenced to eight years in prison; her grandson was sent to one and a half years of forced labour, and was later sentenced to twelve years in prison; her third daughter was sentenced to eight years in prison and her third son-in-law was sent to forced labour for two years. He was later sentenced to twelve years of imprisonment and died as a result of the persecution. Her youngest son was sent to forced labour for one and a half years and was later sentenced to ten years in prison, where he suffered a mental collapse. -
Owner of Translation Company Arrested and Detained
2012-04-04On March 1st, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiano Cao distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts CDs at the Yuyin School. She was followed by some people and reported to the police. Officers from the Wanshou Street Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home. Her friend Ms. Zhenzhen, who was visiting her, was also arrested at that time. The two women were detained in the Haidian Detention Centre, and the police claimed they would be taken to a labour camp. -
Mr. Li Xinliang from Donggang, Liaoning Province Died as a Result of Torture and Severe Abuse during Years in Detention
2012-04-03Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xinliang, 52, started to practise Falun Gong in 1997. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong more than 12 years ago, Mr. Li endured years of persecution for his belief. During the period of the Beijing Olympics, prison officials treated Falun Gong practitioners more brutally. Mr. Li was forced to do hard labour with other inmates, but they did not allow him to sleep in the cell, afraid that his TB would spread to other inmates. He was therefore forced to sleep in the work area, without bedding, on the cold concrete floor. He died on January 25th, 2012 as a result of torture and severe abuse suffered in Chinese Communist prisons. -
Practitioner He Jiang from Mishan City in Heilongjiang Province Tortured in Prison for Nine Years
2012-04-03On April 24th, 2002, Mr. He Jiang was arrested by police. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison and detained at Jianzishan Prison in Mudanjiang City for 9 years and 8 months, during which time he was tortured several ways, including with electric shocks, and being hung from a rope by his wrists. He was released on December 19th, 2011. -
Fu'an City 610 Office Agents Manipulate Local Court Officials to Sentence Mr. Guo Yaowu
2012-04-02Fu'an City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) head Chen Zhong recently manipulated the legal system in the city to sentence Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Yaowu. Mr. Guo was arrested on February 12th, 2012. Instructed by Chen Zhong police, procurators and court officials intended to sentence Mr. Guo to prison. Mr. Guo was previously arrested in May 2001 as he posted messages of “Falun Gong is good” in high visibility areas. He was sentenced to three years and held in Minxi Prison in Fujian Province. He was subjected to severe physical abuse and torture, including being hung up as well as other tortures. -
Ms. Wu Xiaofeng Still Being Tortured at the Qianjin Forced Labour Camp
2012-04-02Ms. Wu Xiaofeng, about 40 years old, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. As a result of mistreatment while being detained, she has lost her speech abilities and cannot take care of herself. She is still being tortured at the Qianjin Forced Labour Camp. At the end of March 2011, under orders from Wang Min, chief of the First Division, criminal inmate Wang Fang added unknown drugs into Ms. Wu's corn congee and vegetable soup. At the end of May 2011, Wang Min dragged Ms. Wu out of the entrance to the Second Division and kicked and hit her. -
Mr. Cao Gongxun Partially Paralysed After Head Slammed Against Ground in Wangling Prison
2012-04-01Mr. Cao Gongxun, 60, was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in 2010. Mr. Cao has become partially paralysed because of the brutal torture he suffered at Wangling Prison. Prison authorities not only refused to release him, but also made things very difficult for his relatives to visit. A prison guard openly admitted that a general criminal offender in such poor health would immediately be released, but not Falun Gong practitioners. The prison guard also commented that it wouldn't matter if Mr. Cao died in the prison. -
60-Year-Old Sentenced to Forced Labour for Giving Police Officer a Shen Yun DVD
2012-04-01Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhuang Haisen, 60, was arrested on February 22nd, 2012, after he gave a Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD to an officer from the Nanling Police Station. Mr. Zhuang, who is 60 years old, was sentenced to two years of forced labour. He was held for two weeks in a local detention centre before being sent to the Weining Forced Labour Camp in Benxi City. -
Six Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced in Dazhou City, Sichuan Province
2012-03-31Six Falun Gong practitioners were tried in a court in Tongchuan District, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province on December 21st, 2011. Four were in their sixties. Seven days later on December 28th, they were sentenced to between three and ten years of imprisonment. In court, Mr. Xu refuted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) prosecutor's falsified charges. That afternoon, the court officers forcibly took Mr. Xu to the Tongchuan District Public Security Bureau and held him there. However, he got very sick and was later released. -
Two Brutal Methods of Torture Employed at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province, China
2012-03-31In 2002 when I was detained in the seventh squadron of the Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp, I witnessed a guard using a brutal torture method with which he intended to destroy practitioners' wills. The guard selected 24 drug traffickers and equally divided them into six teams. The first team dragged a practitioner around on uneven ground that was covered with stones, rocks, and broken tiles. The next team continued the relay until all six teams got very tired and were out of breath. I am a practitioner who has also been subjected to this torture method. -
Mr. Deng Fushou, 62, from Chongqing Tortured to Death in Yongchuan Prison
2012-03-30Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Deng Fushou, 62, was arrested before the 2008 Beijing Olympics and sentenced to four years in prison. He was incarcerated in the Yongchuan Prison. He died suddenly in early 2012. Based upon the abnormal physical problems that he manifested in late 2011, it is likely that he had been poisoned. Previously, On June 6th, 2008, just before the 2008 Beijing Olympics, officers from the Shiqiaopu Police Station broke into Mr. Deng's home in Baimadang and arrested him. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and two computers that belonged to his children. Mr. Deng was taken to the Huayan Detention Centre. -
Practitioners Arrested in Several Cities of Hebei Province on February 25th
2012-03-30Around 4:00 a.m. on February 25th, police from the Zhangjiakou Police Department and Jiajiaying Police Station in Xuanhua County broke into Mr. Gao Yanchen's home in Yuantanzi Village, Xuanhua County, and arrested Mr. Gao and his wife Ms. Zhang Xiaoning. Ms. Zhang is being detained in the Jiajiaying Police Station, but Mr. Gao's whereabouts are unknown. About the same time, Mr. Lin (given name unknown) in Nihezi Village, Xuanhua County was arrested at home along with his son. They are being detained at the local police station.
