This time the third police grabbed my head from behind by the side and took a hard grip of my hair and pulled upwards once again trying to have my picture taken. I once again managed without violence to turn to the side, out of their grip, so that they couldn’t take any picture. They tried twice in this way before they let go of me again. They complained and threatened me. The third and last time that they assaulted me they did as they had done the second time only this time a fourth police took a chokehold around my throat. They again tried to bend and lock my arms behind my back, they pulled my head and hair plus that the fourth police tried to take a chokehold and press me down towards the bed to take the photo. I managed to turn awry forward and to the side and protect my face from the camera. They failed in taking any pictures of me and gave up in the end.

The vice-consul however had not studied his own propaganda well enough, because his explanation was totally different. He insisted it was surveillance cameras that the police had at Tiananmen Square. When the film producer repeated her questions about how a surveillance camera could shoot such good close-ups, the vice consul couldn’t hold himself any more and shouted, ”Such technical questions you can ask the police! … You can ask SECURITAS! (A security company in Sweden) They can answer your question! Such a silly question!” The audience was all laughing.

When the last speech was being read out, the Chinese embassy began blaring out loud music trying to drown out the press conference. This caused amazement and indignation amongst the local residents and people working in the area. One resident complained to the police officer on duty outside the embassy that what the embassy was doing was illegal and infringing his human rights in his own country.

Lemish decided to travel to the ill-famed Tiananmen Square in order to participate in a meditation protest, even though he knew that in doing so he risked his life or could possibly disappear in the labyrinth of a Chinese Prison. Initially his parents tried to dissuade him from doing so, but quickly they began to assist him to prepare for the complicated operation. Leeshai was arrested and abused by the Chinese authorities.

The saddest thing was that these people didn’t know the truth, didn’t know that they took part in the things that were happening, since they were passively following suit. They didn’t even know what Falun Gong is. What they did was to forbid humanity to be good people. This is not only the concern of China but the concern of all of us, all over the world. It is important that we care for each other. It was very frightening when I realised this. I wept in my heart, wept for all the human beings who would lose their chance if I didn’t step forward and stand up for Truth Compassion Tolerance. I realised that this was an emergency situation.

After this incident was over the practitioners found out that Chinese secret agents monitor the Market at all times. When the agents noticed Taiwanese practitioners handing out flyers in the Sun District of the Market, they immediately contacted the Chinese Embassy. The Embassy personnel then pressured the Market Officer to demand the arrest of all Chinese people handing out flyers and have them deported, but they found out that those handing out flyers were actually Taiwanese.

I had been to China a couple of times before the crackdown started. I met many wonderful, kind and unselfish practitioners and we practised together in the parks of Beijing and in Dalian. I like China very much. My trips to China have enriched my life a lot, and I learned much about cultivation from practitioners in China. During the last 2 years, practitioners in China have put their lives at stake to go to Tiananmen in order to appeal to the government and make their voice heard, since all other channels to the government are blocked. I felt encouraged by the brave practitioners in China, who have firmly protected their right to believe in Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance.

For over two years now I have followed the happenings in China and around the world and am trying my best, as do most practitioners, to intervene with all my ability for the propagation of truth and beg for help for the practitioners in China.

It was Falun Gong that transformed me into calm, compassionate young man who has never been sick in the past 4-1/2 years. It was Falun Gong that made me into a responsible and prudent boss in the company where I have worked for the past ten years. Please understand, therefore, that I wish to protect this “precious pearl of the Universe,” until its purity and innocence will once more be recognized.

Why did I go to China and peacefully appeal for Falun Gong on the Tiananmen Square? I wanted to cherish the right to believe in and act according to the characteristics “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.”

"In the square a large number of policemen quickly surrounded us. They dragged me into a car and punched me several times in the face with their fists. They then trampled on my head and kicked me all over my body. Several of the other practitioners were also assaulted. The women were dragged by the hair," he told TT.

Member of Parliament and the radical party convener came just to attend the conference. In his speech, he highly praised the immense courage of the practitioners and expressed his understanding of their actions.

On Thursday the 22nd of November, the Chargé d’affairs of China in Stockholm, Cui Jianchao, was called to the Ministry of Foreign affairs to receive the Swedish Governments severe criticism regarding the treatment of the nine Swedish Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing.

Meanwhile, in the memory of all those innocent people who died due to the persecution for practising Falun Gong I will go to China to, from the bottom of my heart, appeal for:
• the end of the persecution
• the release of all innocent Falun Gong practitioners
• the right to practise Falun Gong in peace.

[Mary Robinson] raised allegations that detained Falun Gong members are "suffering widespread violations of their human rights", including the alleged exposure of women members to sexual abuse.

Robinson pressed China to release ailing democracy activist Xu Wenli and Zhao Ming, a jailed Falun Gong member whose sentence was extended by 10 months ..

"Zhao Ming is great," the people who once tried to brainwash him said, "although we brainwashed him in turn, he always replied, 'I'll never waver in my belief no matter what trick you use.'"

All these [health] problems were gone without a trace after I began to practise Falun Gong exercises, and following the principles of Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance. I became full of energy all the time, and more caring, kind and peaceful. What a helpful practice!

The guards brainwashed my two sisters, and made my sisters think that Falun Gong and Mr Li Hongzhi deceived them despite the fact that both of the sisters had gained great benefits from practising Falun Gong. They were both cured from severe diseases and achieved so much better health, and their moral values also improved tremendously.

After a visit to China over the holidays in the winter of 1999-2000, Ming was prevented from returning to Ireland, and was subsequently detained without trial and tortured repeatedly because his involvement in the banned Falun Gong practice. Immediately after his detention, several local groups, including Amnesty International, the Graduate Students' Union at Trinity College and Falun Gong got involved in advocating for his release.

Dublin City Council expresses its strong wish that the Government of China would intensify efforts to improve human rights in that country and in particular calls for the immediate release of the Trinity student, Zhao Ming.

Zhao Ming is often forced to stand for long periods of time and denied sleep. They sometimes force him to sit in a water basin or stuff him under a bed. He was once beaten to the point where he could not stand up.
