In 1999, the former President of China ordered this movement to be banned.

They urge the EU Commission to look into this matter and raise the issue during the Summit.

The 66- year- old claims she’s been beaten, force fed and suffered electro-shock therapy at the hands of the Chinese police – all because of her beliefs. Zhen is one of the lucky ones, though, she’s alive ... more than 2300 have been tortured to death.

UK Newspaper Sunderland Echo Reports: Stand up and be counted against these atrocities [04.09.2006]

It is unbelievable and horrific that in this day and age such atrocities are happening in China. I’m talking about the killing and organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience – transplantation of their corneas, kidneys, liver and hearts. It’s like the holocaust all over again, only in China there is big money in the killings with a booming trade in transplants.

European Media Reports that European Union Should Adjust the Unbalanced Relationship with Communist China [13.08.2006]

A report in the “European Voice” said that the excessively weak stand of the European Union in free trade against China is very disappointing. The report also pointed out that the same situation happened in the human rights issues too. Not only is the dialogue between China and the European Union weak, but so is it between China and the fifteen European countries (including Norway and Switzerland). China has greatly enhanced its defense ability in international negotiation; however, in fact its human right situation has not truly improved. The recent incident of a large number of Falun Gong practitioners being forced to “donate” organs is an obvious example.

Kilgour suggested that westerners who had organ transplant operations in China should at least pay tax for buying an organ. Falun Gong is an exercise like Yoga with millions of people practicing it. This spiritual movement does not get involved in any political affairs. However since 1999, the Chinese government regarded it as a threat'.

Report from De Morgen (Belgium): ‘Falun Gong followers are being killed for their organs’ [23.07.2006]

That the Falun Gong movement, under persecution in China since July 1999, is subject to virulent repression is nothing new. Hundreds of thousands of people have disappeared within the past few years for a long time, thrown into labour camps, in many cases without any form of trial, but via the convenience of ‘administrative detention’, which approves this kind of deprivation of freedom ... The allegations the two Canadians have formulated in their new report even goes a step further. According to them, Falun Gong followers are being killed only for their organs, and are then being cremated.

"The condition of prisoners in China is increasingly well known but it is only in recent months that a particular mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners has come to light, namely the selection of prisoners for 'reverse-match' organ and tissue transplants, leading to their deaths. This is genocide, as defined in Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide".

St. Galler Journal (Switzerland): Asylum applicant with HSG degree [19.07.2006]

"She also tells of her mother, who introduced her daughter to Falun Gong and who is detained in a Chinese prison for one and a half years. Falun Gong has been banned in China since 1999. She has not heard anything from her mother since that year. She has fought for her release with signature campaigns. Xiaoyang Wang explained that her father had warned her not to return to China. At the same time, he asked her to also watch out for herself in Switzerland. The arm of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has a long reach".

The report includes translations of phone calls with staff members in prisons and clinics, who admit that Falun Gong members are used as a living organ bank. The report also disclosed that there are no surviving victims who can expose the truth. The “scene of the crime” leaves no trace, because the victims are cremated. Report in German Newspaper Buersche Zeitung: "More and more people practice Falun Gong" [16.07.2006]

But every Falun Gong practitioner is arranged to stay alone in a squadron of prisoners. A dozen prisoners watch one practitioner day and night. They never punish Falun Gong practitioners but punish the watchers. If practitioners do not give up their belief, the labour camp does not let them do their chores of daily life, but let the watchers do it for them".

Kilgour and Matas point to the difficulty trying to prove the allegations, as a result of them being denied permission to travel to China to do this research. However "everything seems to point to the fact that thousands of prisoners are having their organs removed forcefully without consent, to become items for transplantations. Thereafter the prisoner dies, are cremated and all evidence is removed" according to NRK. According to NRK, the report further says that, "many arrested Falun Gong-practitioners are missing, and nobody knows what happened to them.
