Painting: One Hundred Koalas

This painting is over 7m long and 45cm wide (23 ft. x 1.5 ft.). There are one hundred adorable koalas - lively, agile, innocent - each painted in a different posture. Some sit, some play, some lie on the ground. Others are doing handstands, or chattering and climbing in the trees. Looking closely, we see that the artist has attended to every leaf and koala hair. It took over 6 months to complete the work, which received an "Award of Excellence" in the Chinese Wash Paintings for the Gold Awards category of the First Asia and Pacific Competition. The koala is a treasured mascot of Australia.
