A bicycle SOS-journey in Germany beginning in Hamburg

On July 19, 2001, at 11:00 o’clock in the morning, Falun Gong practitioners from Germany began their bicycle trip in front of the Chinese Embassy in Hamburg. During their trip they planned to clarify the truth to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. They also hoped, through their actions, to secure the support of citizens and diverse civic and government groups in various parts of Germany.

Practitioners Julia and Wen from Hamburg and 12-year-old Sina from Bremen planned to make the 350 km stretch to Berlin by bike. They are paying their own way. The organiser of this trip sprang into action through sadness. She was quite upset when she noticed that the media and government bodies in Germany hardly paid any attention to the story about the recent mass murder of fifteen women at the Wanjia forced labor camp in China. She is hopeful that this bicycle trip will jolt people at all levels of government as well as the citizens into awareness of the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Many practitioners want to help in this regard by contacting the media and relevant government groups.
