Be Upright Without Fear

Master said: ”All of you are already aware of the principle of mutual-generation and mutual-inhibition. If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will cease to exist. This is not to be self-imposed, but is achieved by truly and calmly letting go of it.”(Eliminate Your Last Attachments)

I can understand deeply these words of Master Li. Some troubles and interference from family resulted from my mentality of fear.

In 2001, once, after leaving my office, I did some things for exposing the evil persecution and clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa]. During the way home, I thought my family would complain about my returning home late without a call to them. As a result, it was indeed so after coming home.

After this, I understood that the mentality of fear was the source of tribulation, so I no longer feared anything. In return, I no longer have such tribulations.

Similarly, I get rid of fears first when I do other things for clarifying the truth; that is, I do them with openness and dignity. As a result, there is no interference.

For example, all Dafa practitioners around the world always send righteous thoughts [using upright thoughts to purify oneself and other] at 12 midnight. In order to ensure I can be on time, I don’t sleep before 12. I study the Fa [referring to books or articles written by Master Li Hongzhi], write articles or do other things.

From the beginning, I wasn’t afraid that my family would oppose it, and everything went smoothly. Later, I relaxed myself several times, and fell asleep before 12. This brought about condemnation from my family. Following this, I had some none righteous thoughts, and my family began to oppose this.

After I maintained righteous thoughts, I wouldn’t sleep
before 12, and everything was all right again. I’ve many such examples as this.

In a word, I comprehended this principle: at present, if you have the mentality of fear, the evil will have the excuse to persecute you. Thus, whatever you fear will happen. So whenever interferences emerge at home, you have to ask yourself first: whether you had the mentality of fear or did everything with openness, dignity and honesty.
