How the Beijing Police Cruelly Persecute Dafa Practitioners

Dafa practitioner Wang Liping is from Kuerle, Xinjiang Autonomous Region. He graduated from the People's University of China, and worked at the Kuerle City Real Estate Management Department. At the end of 2001, he went to Tiananmen Square to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Dafa. The police from the Tiananmen Subdivision of the Beijing Police Department arrested him, and sent him to the Beijing Daxing Detention Centre. The policemen there used a form of water torture and poured large quantities of ice-cold water on him over a long period of time, causing him to incur serious disabilities. His muscles atrophied, he had nerve damage, he became incontinent, and he lost his voice due to vocal cord strain. After even more torture, he lost his memory, became paralyzed, and couldn't take care of himself.

Because the officials at the Daxing Detention Centre feared taking responsibility for his condition as a result of their actions, they lied about the situation. They claimed that Wang Liping went on a hunger strike, causing all of these problems, and used this as an excuse to send him to the Criminal Section of the Seventh Division of the Beijing Police Department Hospital, where the torture continued for months. Nevertheless, Wang Liping still firmly believed in Dafa. As soon as he recovered his voice a little, he recited several poems from Hongyin [a collection of poems by the Teacher Li] to demonstrate the firmness of his belief. He validated Dafa with his firm and strong mind and his actions. They released him in July of 2002. Because of the severity of the torture, he still could not walk at the time of his release.

Dafa practitioner Xie Ge, from Shanghai, went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop persecuting Falun Gong right after the July 1999 decision [the date that Falun Gong was banned in China]. At the end of 2001 the police arrested him, and sent him to the Daxing Tiantanghe Brainwashing centre to be tortured. His belief in Dafa remained firm, and he went on a hunger strike for more than 100 days. The police sent him to the Daxing Hospital for cruel force-feeding. Then they sent him to the Beijing Police Department Hospital for more torture. The nurses filled his arms with needle marks from the infusions, until they were too horrible to look at. They couldn't even find a new vein to give him an injection. Because Xie Ge wouldn't cooperate with the force-feedings, they cuffed his hands to the headboard and his feet to the footboard of a bed for a long period of time, and used different methods of torture on him. In spite of the torture, Xie Ge used every opportunity (when he was not cuffed) to sit in meditation and do Fa Zheng Nian [a special meditation holding positive thoughts in mind]. If anyone stopped him, he would recite the verses of Fa Zheng Nian , which frightened them very much. The policemen feared that the prisoners in other rooms could hear it, so they turned on the air blower to create some noise. Then they closed all of the doors, so as to conceal their fear. A non-practitioner in the medical room reported that, of all the practitioners he had witnessed, Xie Ge resisted the most and was tortured the most. Toward the end of his time in prison, even the police were afraid to see him. Xie Ge's righteous thoughts and actions genuinely demonstrated a Dafa practitioner's spirit of selflessness and fearlessness. The evidoers exhausted all of their tricks and still couldn't shake Xie Ge's righteous belief a tiny bit. Finally, in April 2002, they released him.

During 2001, the Chaoyang Subdivision of the Beijing Police Department illegally sentenced 182 Dafa practitioners to forced labour camps and 8 Dafa practitioners to prison.
