Italy: Promoting Falun Dafa at a Christmas fair in Spinea

There is a new western practitioner living in Spinea, which is a city near Venice. He and his entire family hoped to take advantage of a Christmas fair to introduce Falun Gong to people in their hometown. Five practitioners from Rome and some other cities in Italy came to give them support. In a place designated by city government officials, they hung eye-catching Dafa banners, displayed photos and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. They wished to tell people about the benefits that they and 100 million other people in almost 60 countries have received from practising Falun Gong. They also hoped to let people know about the ruthless persecution being waged against practitioners by Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin, who is already responsible for the deaths of over 530 innocent practitioners in China [Chinese officials have said that the death toll is closer to 1700].

This unique exhibition aroused people’s curiosity and many passers-by stopped to see the photos that were displayed. Since the activity was held on a weekend just before Christmas, lots of people walked through the area, including many children. The children were especially interested in our exhibition. Upon seeing Dafa practitioners demonstrating the exercises, two young girls with red outfits were reluctant to leave. They started to mimic the exercises and eventually were taught the first exercise by one of the practitioners.

In the two days, several thousand fliers were handed out; nevertheless, some people still couldn’t get one. Whenever practitioners demonstrated the exercises, people crowded around to watch. Many people have begun to practise since this new practitioner started in Spinea. This gathering provided a great opportunity for them to share experiences with one another and improve together. The local practitioner said that he never expected the event to be so successful and that he had never experienced such a strong energy field. A cameraman from a local TV station was also attracted by this event and took some footage of the practitioners demonstrating the exercises.

This local practitioner also used any spare moments he had to visit local Chinese restaurants, and also to speak to any other Chinese people, to tell them the truth about the persecution. In China, Jiang Zemin has created a web of lies through his control of the nation’s media and he uses this to hide his wicked actions. This practitioner hoped to let the Chinese people see through this deceit and see that Falun Dafa practitioners are really good people and are not like the people described by Jiang’s media.
