Validating the Truth of Falun Dafa is Most Magnificent

In March 2001, Falun Gong practitioners from Canberra and Sydney started to clarify the truth of the persecution in front of the Chinese Embassy in Canberra. We had already been displaying Falun Dafa banners and clarifying the truth there before. Prior to this activity, very few residents of Canberra (capital of Australia) knew about Falun Dafa. As time passed, more and more practitioners joined in, and our Xinxing [mind or heart nature, moral character] continuously improved. With our peaceful conduct and unwavering determination while we were outside the embassy, we helped the people to gradually come to understand Falun Dafa. Since many Chinese tourists visit the embassy, it is clearly a good place for clarifying the truth to those precious people from China. It is also an important location for practitioners to send righteous thoughts. Once we realized this, some practitioners decided to live in Canberra permanently while other practitioners regularly drove over 300 kilometers [186 miles] from Sydney to Canberra during their holidays and on weekends so that they could send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth in front of the embassy. This effort is still going on today. In this period of time, many practitioners showed great courage and determination, and there are many stories that deeply moved a lot of people.

As an example, here is the story of one fellow practitioner. This practitioner is 74 years old. Last December, she decided to move out of her son's comfortable home in Sydney and permanently move to Canberra. She had been consistently going to the embassy every day no matter if it rained or snowed. She has seen the changing of the four seasons outside the embassy over the past year. She said, "The reason is simple, compared to the young practitioners, I am not good at clarifying the truth to the government or the media. So I go wherever there is a need for truth clarifying activities. I have benefited from Falun Dafa immensely. Because my daughter practices Falun Gong, she is still being detained in a forced labor camp in China and faces horrible torture. As a mother and as a fellow practitioner to thousands and thousands of detained and persecuted Dafa practitioners, I have to come here, in front of the Chinese Embassy, to tell all the precious and deceived people from China that Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, and that the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang's regime is wrong."

Teacher said in the "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.," "I think these three things are all I'll talk about. One is your Fa-study, one is sending forth righteous thoughts, and the other is about how clarifying the truth is extremely important." We have been doing those three things in front of the embassy every day for the past year. We realize that our understandings of the Fa [Law and principles of Falun Gong] have become clearer, and our righteous thoughts have become purer. We can also clarify the truth more clearly, these are things that we should do.

Over the past year all the hard work and great effort from the practitioners outside the embassy has been worthwhile. The magnificence and the beauty of Falun Dafa has been shown to many tourists and residents of Canberra. Those tourist guides who saw us regularly said, "You are amazing, your work is very admirable." Countless pedestrians and people in cars showed their support by giving us a ‘thumbs up’ or by sounding their car horns. Some students used our stories as the theme of their class projects. Accompanied by their parents, these students completed detailed studies and in-depth interviews with us. On a few occasions, residents in the area sent us boxes of drinks and fresh fruit. Local TV stations and newspapers also positively reported our activites on many occasions.

We handed out a large amount of truth clarifying materials to the Chinese tourists in front of the embassy every day. Many tourists even used their cameras or video cameras to take pictures of the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance banner, the Falun emblem, and the practitioners demonstrating the exercises and sending righteous thoughts. These pictures and images were taken back to China. Many western practitioners regularly came to the embassy to help to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. Some of these practitioners were local Canberra residents, but many of them lived as far away as Melbourne and Brisbane. To Chinese tourists, seeing westerners practice Falun Gong was not only new; it was also a big shock. Witnessing western practitioners clarifying the truth had clearly changed the sentiments of many Chinese tourists. At the very least, they realized Falun Gong had become very popular among westerners. Due to their sincerity and pure minds, the material handed out by these western practitioners usually had a very strong and positive impact.

Many practitioners volunteered their time, money, and resources to form a support team so that the truth clarifying effort in front of the embassy could be carried out efficiently. Although there were difficulties and interference from time to time, our fellow practitioners resolved these problems with the wisdom and determination gained from cultivating in Falun Dafa.

The number of experiences that occurred in front of the embassy is countless, and the practitioners in Australia are walking down the path of Fa-rectification together. We realize that this embassy is a window, through which the world can see and understand us, and the behavior of each practitioner can influence the progress of spreading and validating Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth in Australia. We clearly understand that the conduct of the practitioners outside the embassy is judged by their daily behavior. Hence we must study the Fa well and maintain strong, righteous thoughts. We must do better in clarifying the truth so that we shall be worthy of the honorable title of "Fa-rectification Period Dafa Disciples."

It doesn't matter if we need to endure a freezing winter or a scorching summer. It doesn't matter if we are faced with praise or criticism. As Teacher's students, we always know that validating the truth of Falun Dafa is the most magnificent activity of our lives.
