By Dafa Practitioners in France

On November 30, Falun Gong practitioners from Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France introduced Dafa to the passersby at Albert I Pier. A major newspaper, Monaco Matin, sent a reporter to cover the event and published a positive article about Falun Gong the next day.

In the next few days the practitioners reached many people. They told practitioners that they knew about Falun Gong and the persecution in China because they had read the report from Monaco Matin. Local people told us that the newspaper is published by the Prince of Monaco. The full report is translated as follows.

Monaco Matin: Before Li Lanqing's visit, Falun Gong Practitioners Protest at Pier

December 1, 2002

China's Vice Premier Li Lanqing is going to come here to support the China's bid to hold the 2010 World Expo. Falun Gong, an ancient cultivation practise embodying elements from both the Buddhist and Tao schools [Falun Gong is not a religion and is seperate from both Buddhism and Taoism] and attracting over 100 million people worldwide, came to Albert I Pier to demonstrate.

Over the past three years, the Chinese authorities have brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. The persecution of Falun Gong, a cultivation way that combines physical and spiritual exercises, has claimed over 500 deaths from brutal torture in forced labour camps and mental hospitals.

Outside China, voices to protest state terrorism grow louder and louder. The French Falun Dafa Association has gained the support of many local people.
