Torture Methods Used at the Xishanpin Labour Camp

The Xishanpin Forced-Labour Camp is located in the Beipei district of Chongqing City. There, policemen coerced imprisoned drug addicts to torture Falun Dafa practitioners with extremely horrible methods. The policemen also helped them with the torture. The following are some of experiences I witnessed:

On or about December 10 2001, approximately 80 practitioners were detained in the brainwashing brigade, along with 250 drug addicts. In December 2001, more than 30 policemen were transferred to this place. Beginning December 17, they started a new round of atrocities against Falun Dafa practitioners. Groups of ten policemen were each teamed with about 20 drug addicts; they punched practitioners and dragged them up and down the stairs. One elderly practitioner was tortured by more than 20 drug addicts. After one week of such evil acts, the policemen divided the first group of the seventh brigade into four sub-groups

The policemen named sub-group no. 4 "the intensive monitoring sub-group." Policeman Zhou Benzhong was in charge of its four rooms. In each room there were 12 or more drug addicts; they tortured practitioners one by one.

First, they limited the food given to practitioners; each meal was about one-fourth of the regular allotment (less than 2 oz). No hand or face washing were allowed. Drinking water was prohibited. Often, they forced Falun Dafa practitioners to sit, stand, squat or lie down for prolonged periods of time. For example, practitioners had to sit upright for up to ten hours. It caused hip and back problems, and resulted in sores on their buttocks. If practitioners slouched even a little, drug addicts, forced by policemen to monitor practitioners, would rush over and punch the practitioners.

The more brutal torture methods included cursing, hitting, burning, scalding, pulling out eyebrows, gagging the mouth, choking the throat and many other gruesome abuses. Cursing: they used all the vulgar words they could think of to swear at Falun Dafa. Hitting: they kicked or punched both sides of people's thighs, targeting the ligaments. After being hit, it was hard to stand, move arms or squat down to use the lavatory.

They forced practitioners to bend down and then, with their elbow joints, the thugs hit the practitioners' backs with maximum force. Some were hit until they had to lie down on the ground, vomiting blood. The after-effect was often damage to their internal organs, including their kidneys. The thugs would hit the sides of practitioners' throats with their fists; one punch could cause a practitioner to vomit blood. The following are some of the other abuses: hitting the chest and torso, beating the ankles with hard objects, pummelling the tops of heads with stools, sticking fingers with needles, burning eyebrows, and pulling hair. These are just some of the ruthless methods used to torture practitioners.

Such atrocities were repeated almost hourly each day, and have been going on ever since then. The following is just one of the more vicious tactics they used: starting in one room, a practitioner would be abused until the drug addicts in that room had run out of abuse methods. Then, the practitioner would be moved to another room to be the target of further abuse because the methods used in the second room might have been different. The guards continued to move the practitioners to additional torture rooms for endless abuse.

The drug addicts were rewarded with 500 to 1,000 points for each Falun Dafa practitioner they forced to yield under pressure. The points were converted to sentence reductions of about 5-10 days. The leader of the drug addicts’ term was reduced by eight months in this way; you can see how evil-minded he and those policemen were.

The thugs hit Falun Dafa practitioners until they were severely injured and then sent them to hospitals. After practitioners had recovered somewhat, they were sent back to the camp for more rounds of torture.

The above is just a fraction of what I experienced. Their atrocities are beyond description.
