AP: Falun Gong [practitioner] Gets Death Penalty

Editors Note: This press advisory gives information on how the state-run media in China has reported that a Falun Gong practitioner has murdered her daughter. However, the principles of Falun Gong, which are Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, state that killing in any form is a sin. We believe that this is another case to further incite hatred against Falun Gong and to justify Jiang's persecution.

BEIJING -- A [practitioner] of the Falun Gong spiritual movement in northeastern China has been sentenced to death for [allegedly murdering her] daughter [...]a state-controlled newspaper reported Friday.

Guan Shuyun was convicted in Heilongjiang province of murder and other charges related to her alleged involvement with the banned spiritual movement. The court granted her a two-year reprieve before the sentence is to be carried out, the Legal Daily reported.

The newspaper said 31 other Falun Gong practitioners were also sentenced but didn't give details. Phones at the court were not answered Friday.
