Jyllands-Posten (Denmark): Photos of Falun Gong Practitioners Appealing During ASEM Summit Published

On September 24, 2002, the Denmark major newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, published photos of practitioners peacefully appealing at the ASEM summit. The photos were well placed, appearing on the newspaper's front page, as well as pages 2 and 4.


Photo 1

Photo 1 is titled, "Commemorating those who were tortured to death." The description of the photo is, "Yesterday, Chinese Falun Gong spiritual movement followers passing by Copenhagen Street held a peaceful appeal. They are walking to Christiansborg Slotsplads (Prime Minister's office and Parliament building). The many people walking in the front of the procession and wearing white clothes hold photos of those who were tortured to death in China."

The above photo was published on page 2 of the newspaper. The description: "Peaceful Falun Gong practitioners from Denmark, China, Poland, Germany, Netherlands, and France participated in the demonstration. Their banner shows that at least 477 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death in China."

Photo 3 was published on page 4. The text description is, "Bella Centre (location of ASEM summit) Around the Bella Centre, a group of Falun Gong practitioners are meditating as a welcome committee waving (Chinese) flags welcomes the Chinese Prime Minister."
