Lately, one is able to learn the movements to Falun Gong. The practice takes place every Tuesday, beginning 5:00 p.m., in Steffi Graf Park in the City of Bruehl. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese qigong school that was introduced to the public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi. This exercise form has become well-liked since its introduction ten years ago and is practiced by 100 Million people worldwide.

Falun Gong encompasses five easy to learn movements and the teachings of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, the principles taught and thoroughly explained in the book Zhuan Falun. These all help people to lead a life of inner peace and harmony, free from excess stress.

Due to its popularity, China outlawed this practice on July 22 1999, because the number of practitioners superseded the number of members in the Communist Party, a threat to the Chinese leadership. This has led to a hate campaign against Falun Gong, which resulted in the persecution of innocent people in China who practice these exercises in public parks.

Those interested in the practice are free to stop by or leave a telephone message. Further information may also be found on the Internet, where one can freely download all printed materials, at www.falundafa.de, or www.faluninfo.net .
