Experience of Clarifying the Truth to Chinese Workers in Singapore

By a practitioner from Singapore

While driving home from work one day, I noticed groups of Mainland Chinese construction workers gathered at waiting points outside the worksites for transportation. My first thought was to distribute Dafa truth-clarifying materials to them, as it is rare in Singapore to find such a large group of Chinese nationals in one place. But then I had a problem - I do not have good Mandarin Chinese, as I was brought up in an English-speaking environment. My fear was how to communicate effectively with the workers in Chinese. Another practitioner told me to leave this task to a Chinese practitioner. But I did not agree with him. My noticing and encountering these workers was not a coincidence. It was a great chance to clarify the truth to the workers.

I decided to do it alone and be prepared to face the task with rationality and righteousness. On the evening of 13th Sept. 2002 I parked my car near the waiting point where a group of 60-80 workers had gathered, and started to distribute leaflets and VCDs [Video Cdroms] to them. When they heard that Falun Gong materials were being distributed, many got excited and rushed towards me to take the materials. Some shouted to the others "Falun Dafa! Falun Dafa!" and more came to take the materials. The atmosphere filled with excitement, it was like they had received news of a long lost friend. Their faces were filled with joy, surprise and gratitude.

Some told me that they were once Dafa practitioners but had stopped because of the persecution. Some asked whether Falun Gong is legal in Singapore and were surprised to learn that Falun Gong is legal and widely practised in over 50 countries worldwide.

In a short 5 minutes, all the materials that I had were given away. A group even followed me back to my car to take the remaining materials. No fear surfaced; it melted away without a trace in the face of righteous thoughts and actions. When I drove away from the site, I could see the workers deeply immersed in reading the clarification materials.
