Using my Artwork to Touch People’s Hearts

From September 9 to September 24 2002, an Exhibition of University Students’ Modern Art Designs was held at the Exhibition Hall of the Latvian Architects’ Union in downtown Riga, the capital of Latvia. Two artistic posters that I designed were being exhibited.

I first heard about the exhibition from my parents one year ago. For a period of time, I had no idea if I should take the fine art courses and participate in the exhibition. I only remember one thing, that is every day of mine has to do with the process of the Fa-rectification of the universe. As a Dafa disciple, I try to look at everything I meet from the standpoint of Dafa. I understand that we Dafa disciples should use our daily conduct and our own experiences to create an opportunity for the people around us to know about Falun Dafa. If we are not selfish and our behaviour is noble, our manner will affect our friends, relatives and people who are familiar with us. Falun Dafa practitioners are spread all over the world, in different countries and continents. In today’s world, people have many forms of communication. If I am isolated from the society, how can others understand the benefits gained by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?

I have been practising cultivation in Falun Dafa for over three years. I have become calmer and physically healthy. I no longer suffer from illnesses. My belief in Falun Dafa strengthens my willpower and I have been resolute enough to reject my bad behaviours that used to be out of my control. I want to use my artwork to touch people’s hearts and tell them, “Falun Dafa is good!” I hope through my work people can begin to understand the profoundness of Falun Dafa and the goodness the universal Dafa brings to the world.

In Zhuan Falun, Teacher said, “…Literary works are based on life and then go beyond it;” [Lecture 7, “The Issue of Eating Meat”]. I understand, literature is only one aspect of modern arts. If what surrounds people and what people think about is all good and healthy, leaving no room for bad things to exist, life would be pure. Through cultivation, we know that “matter and mind are one thing” [Lecture 1, “Why Doesn’t Your Gong Increase with Your Practice?”]. Things we make with righteous thoughts will enhance the righteous field of our physical world. I also understand, people who have not read Zhuan Falun will determine their attitude toward Falun Dafa according to Dafa practitioners’ demeanour. I think it is a great responsibility of a Fa-rectification disciple, and I will try all my efforts to do well.
