Dear Sir,
Re: Deporting of Two Falun Gong Refugees to China

A source in Phnom Penh has reported that the Cambodian police have deported two Falun Gong practitioners to China on the 9th August.

The two practitioners had left China to maintain their freedom, after Chinese president, Jiang Zemin, initiated his vicious crackdown in 1999. And after arriving in Phnom Penh in Cambodia, they had obtained work in a local Chinese school.

However, in June of this year, the couple applied for an extension of their Chinese passports at the Chinese Embassy, and were refused. Finally in July, they applied and obtained official U.N. Refugee Certificates.

On August 2, the Cambodian police arrested both of them. And on the 9th August, they were deported back to Changsha city in China as a result of pressure from the Chinese Embassy.

The couple are currently held in a detention centre in Changsha city.

This is a complete disregard for basic human rights. It seems that the Cambodian police, under pressure from the Chinese Embassy ignored the consequences of their actions.

Falun Gong practitioners in Ireland are shocked that the Cambodian government would bow before the Chinese regime and ‘sell’ someone’s life under pressure; we are sure this will bring retribution from heaven.

We call for you to engage the Chinese government and demand that these innocent people be released from China and returned to Cambodia as soon as possible.

Awaiting your response,

Irish Falun Dafa Association.
