Shandong Province's metropolis of Qingdao is a beautiful coastal city with a pleasant climate. Qingdao Marine University (QMU) is a well-known college specializing in marine science.

Since July 20, 1999, QMU's administration has closely followed Jiang's regime and severely persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. For instance, a female Ph.D. candidate was locked up in a dark room for many days because of her refusal to betray Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. A female professor had an outstanding track record at work and followed the principles of "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance" in everyday life. After the persecution started, QMU locked her up in an apartment where security guards watched her around the clock. To protest the illegal detention, she went on a five-day hunger strike. The guards were indifferent to her condition.

A veteran soldier/practitioner was hard working and conscientious in QMU's service department. After the persecution, he went to Beijing to appeal. Later he was fired from his job.

Another Ph.D. candidate from a well-known university in the North came to QMU to do post-doctoral research. When they found out that she practiced Falun Dafa, QMU returned all her paperwork and application to her home school. She was forced into hiding to avoid persecution from the local police.

Dafa practitioner Zou Songtao, a graduate from QMU, was tortured to death at a forced labour camp in Shandong Province. (Further details will be revealed at a later time).

QMU authorities actively participated in the so-called "Million-signature anti-Falun Gong Campaign" organized by Jiang's Regime. They disregarded any moral ethics and forced everyone to sign. Employees in the Security Department violated basic ethical conduct in exchange for money and fame.
