On the evening of November 17th, 2011, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wen Yuhong, who is in her 50s and a resident of Huairou District, Beijing, was arrested together with her three-year-old granddaughter by police officers. She was then sentenced to two years imprisonment. Practitioners arrested on the same day were Ms. Jia Cuihuan, Ms. Wang Baohua (46 years old) and Ms. Sun Guiqing (60 years old). They were also sentenced and detained at forced labour camps.

On November 17th, a few dozen practitioners from a suburban area in Beijing and rural areas surrounding Beijing were arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officers. It was revealed by police officers from the detention centre that they were aiming to arrest 23 practitioners from Huairou District. At 6:20 p.m., Liu Yutian, who is in charge of the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) from Qiaozi Township in Huairou District, teamed up with a person whose last name was Zhu from the Township government, as well as a police officer whose last name was also Zhu from the Huairou Detention Centre. They led others from the Domestic Security Department, military police force, security and police officers, and in a large group broke into and ransacked the homes of Ms. Sun Guiqing, Ms. Wang Baohua, and Ms. Wang Yalan. Ms. Ma was not at home, but they arrested and took away the others. Eight to ten people broke into each of their homes and handcuffed the practitioners. They also confiscated satellite dishes, computers and other items. When Ms. Sun and Ms. Wang were taken away, they didn't even have their coats on. Ms. Wang was initially detained at the Xicheng Detention Centre, but was returned home because of her high blood pressure. Twenty days later, when they went to her home to look for her, they couldn't find her.

After they arrested Ms. Wen, police officers from the Domestic Security Brigade also confiscated items which totalled to a value of over 10,000 yuan1, including 5,000 yuan that Ms. Wen had saved during the year through selling tofu and had put aside to pay for her child's tuition fees.

Ms. Wen, who is a farmer from the Huanghua Township in Huairou County, has been supporting her family by selling tofu. She has persisted in practising Falun Gong, and has been persecuted many times. In 2004, a deputy head of the Huangkan police station from Huairou County by the last name of Sun teamed up with people from the "610 Office" to arrest Ms. Wen. They roughed her up so badly that she was paralysed and lost the ability to take care of herself. Still, she was sentenced to four years of imprisonment.

During the time when she was detained at Beijing Women’s Prison, guard Zheng Yumei and Tian Fengqing instigated collaborators Li Xiaomei and Liu Xiuqin to torture Ms. Wen Li by pulling her hair and hitting her head against a table. Liu also kicked her paralysed legs very hard. After suffering for four years, Ms. Li finally came home, but by then she had nothing left at home. After a few months of continuous studying the Falun Gong exercises and doing the exercises, she was able to stand up again. She then began to take care of household chores and other work to save up once again to pay for her child's tuition fees.

When Ms. Wen was arrested again, she was detained at the Shunyi District Detention Centre. Only a few days ago, she was transferred to Huairou District Detention Centre, but was then transferred again to a detention centre in the Daxing District.

On the evening of November 17th, Ms. Jia Cuihuan was arrested from home by police officers from Huairou County, Domestic Security Brigade, the "610 Office", and Miaocheng Police Station. They also ransacked her home, and the process lasted for four hours. Later she was detained at Nihe Detention Centre in Shunyi County, Beijing. It was not until her family members had checked with many people that they find out that on December 26th, she was transferred to the Beijing Women's Forced Labour Camp for a detention period of two and a half years.

Sun Baoning, the Deputy Head of Huairou District Detention Centre in Beijing, was the person in charge of two township police stations. During his tenure, he has arrested some practitioners. His mobile number is +86-13716925812
