Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Gao Yinli and his wife, nearly 80 years old, are from Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. After their son's arrest in November 2011, they were forced to leave home for over two months to avoid being persecuted. Police officers often go to the couple's home to coerce their children into disclosing their parents' whereabouts. Even with the Chinese New Year around the corner, the elderly couple was forced to stay away from home.

Mr. Gao and his wife are physicians and owners of a clinic in Mianyang City. They strive to abide by the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to be ethical people. They are kind to others, and are very well thought of by their neighbors. They have excellent medical skills, impeccable medical ethics, and they are well-trusted by their patients. More and more patients had been coming to their clinic.

Kechuangyuan Police Station director Feng Huilin, deputy director Ren Qianlai, and about 30 people from the Yuantong Community police office and village committee surrounded the home of Mr. Gao Yinli's son, Mr. Gao Bing, after 6:00 p.m. on November 7th, 2011. They pried open the door, broke a window, and broke into Mr. Gao's home. Mr. Gao was arrested and taken to a brainwashing facility located at Taohuashan, Gejiamiao Village, Fucheng District. The persecutors attempted to force Mr. Gao into writing statements to renounce Falun Gong.

After hearing the news of their son's arrest and that their names were also on the list of people targeted for the brainwashing centre, Mr. Gao Yinli and his wife left their home. There has not been any news from them in over two months. Police officers often go to the couple's home to coerce their children into disclosing their whereabouts. As the Chinese New Year approached and the weather became cold, their children have been especially worried about their elderly parents.
