In May 2011, Ms. Yu Kaihong from Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, went to Yueyang County to talk to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by agents from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She has been detained for more than eight months. Ms. Yu has been arrested and detained in a forced labour camp twice before.

Restored to health after practising Falun Gong

Ms. Yu worked in the Hanzhong Grain and Oil Company. She was laid off in 1997. At that time, she was single and her health was poor. She lost the will to live. At this difficult time, a Falun Gong practitioner gave her a copy of the Falun Gong book Zhuan Falun and told her that one's fate could be changed only by cultivation. She was half convinced at that time.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in July 1999. Ms. Yu missed the environment of practising in a group. She later became critically ill and could not eat or drink. She recalled Falun Gong at that time and started to practice at home. Although her movements were not accurate, the effect was very obvious. She quickly regained her health and became clear-minded. People around her were surprised at how she had changed.

Detained in Forced Labour Camps Twice

Aware of how the CCP slandered Falun Gong and persecuted practitioners, Ms. Yu wanted to explain the facts about Falun Gong and expose the CCP's lies. She told people around her about her experience of benefiting both physically and mentally from practising Falun Gong.

In August 2003, Ma Pingan, chief of the Hantai District Domestic Security Division; Li Youzhi; Liu Deyou; Xiong Hongbo; and other policemen ransacked Ms. Yu's home. Ms. Yu was then taken to the Hantai Detention Centre. Guard Men Quanxiu ordered a drug addict named Huang Qing and other detainees to torture Ms. Yu. These thugs brutally beat her, which caused her to be incontinent. Ms. Yu was also forced to kneel and wipe the floor. In an effort to force her to betray other practitioners, the criminals held her upside down and submerged her whole head in a water basin. Finally, Ms. Yu was sentenced to 18 months in a forced labour camp.

In 2007, Ms. Yu was arrested again and held in a forced labour camp for one year.

Arrested and Persecuted Again

Ms. Yu was arrested again in 2011 and has been detained in the Lueyang County Detention Centre for more than eight months. The Lueyang 610 Office plans to further persecute her.

It was reported that three of Ms. Yu Kaihong's friends, practitioners Chen Zhixian, Xin Mei, and Sang Jianhua, were detained when they went to visit her in August 2011. Their homes were ransacked and the police took heir personal property.

Outrages of Agents from the Lueyang 610 Office

Agents from the Lueyang 610 Office have persecuted Falun Gong practitioners many times. In 2010, Ms. Liu Jihong and Ms. Hou Xiuying from Mian County were arrested by Lueyang 610 Office agents when the two women went to Lueyang County and talked to people about Falun Gong. They were sentenced to five years in prison. Ms. Liu Jihong is now in the Shaanxi Second Prison in Weinan, Shaanxi Province. And Ms. Hou Xiuying is in Shaanxi Women's Prison.
