Beijing Normal University Graduate Student Yao Yuanying and Other Practitioners Sent to Forced Labour Camp

Ms. Yao Yuanying, 26, is a Ph.D. graduate student at Beijing Normal University. Ms. Sun Lixin, 37, is a young artist. On October 23rd, Niu Xiaobiao and other plainclothes policemen from the Dongxiaokou Police Station in Changping District secretly broke into Apt. 502, Building 20, Second West District, Tiantongyuan and arrested nine Falun Gong practitioners, including the homeowner. After being detained for more than one month, they were sent to forced labour camp. Family members of Ms. Sun Lixin, Ms. Yao Yuanying, Ms. Chang Chunyu, Mr. Li Ziming and Mr. Guo Longbin have received notification of their two-year forced labour sentences.

The nine arrested practitioners include Song Zhao from Henan Province (31 years old, an English translator and assistant to the president of a foreign invested enterprise in Beijing), Feng Qingdong (31 years old, a Japanese translator in the Tangsenlutou Group), Ms. Yao Yuanying, Ms. Sun Lixin, Ms. Chang Chunyu from Beijing, Mr. Li Ziming from Hebei Province, Mr. Guo Longbin from Heilongjiang Province, and two practitioners from Shandong Province.

Mr. Li Ziming is a talented calligrapher who is well respected because he loves helping others. He had suffered from serious heart disease, as well as vertebral dislocation and lower cranial damage caused by a car accident. After he started to practise Falun Gong, his health problems disappeared. He became strong and energetic. It was Falun Gong that gave him a second life. He talked to people about how Falun Gong taught him to be a good person, how he gave up bad habits, and how he realized the magnificence of being alive.

Mr. Guo Longbin, 35 years old, was an employee at Yilan Farm. People consider him to be a kind and strong young man. He holds himself strictly to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, but he was repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was previously sentenced in Beijing and imprisoned. In 2010, he was transferred to the Third Division of the Jiamusi Prison. He was released on January 24th, 2011.
