Jiamusi City practitioner Ms. Chen Fengmin was arrested at home on October 18th. With her family's help, she has returned home. Since being detained, she has become very weak and is often in a befuddled mental state.

Wang Hailun, an officer from the Dongfeng District Political and Judicial Bureau, and five regime agents went to Ms. Chen’s home at 7 a.m. on October 18th. They forcibly arrested her and then ransacked her home.

When Chen’s son, a college student, heard his mother had been illegally arrested, he returned home. Chen’s mother-in-law also came to help. She said, “My daughter-in-law (Ms. Chen) used to have kidney disease. She looked for treatment everywhere and spent lots of money, but nothing helped. After beginning to practise Falun Gong, she recovered from her illness. Because my son (Ms. Chen's husband) is partially paralysed from a stroke, he needs someone to take care of him. In order to afford my grandson's college expenses, my daughter-in-law works very hard to support the family and make ends meet. ”

Ms. Chen's mother-in-law and son went to the Changsheng Residential Committee to ask for her release. Her son said, “My dad was wrongly imprisoned for three years in the past and was severely tortured. My father has had a stroke and has to be hospitalised twice a year. I am still in college and have to pay for school.” However, their request was ignored. In addition, police came to inspect their home to see if any practitioners had been there. Agents from the local Political and Judicial Bureau also went to Ms. Chen's home, threatening to arrest practitioners.

Ms. Chen's family went to officials several times requesting her release. Officials from the Dongfeng District Political and Judicial Bureau, along with the Changsheng Residential Committee's head, all shirked their responsibility for her mistreatment and arrest. Finally, her mother-in-law became physically exhausted from all the stress searching for Ms. Chen, and was hospitalised. Ms. Chen's husband, who already had a brain blood vessel blockage, was also hospitalised from mental stress. Her son had to take care of both his grandma and father.

Ms. Chen was released from the brainwashing centre 17 days later. Since her release, she is often befuddled mentally and is in both physical and mental pain. Because of poor health, she is unable to take care of her mother-in-law or her husband. Apparently, she had been mentally abused in the brainwashing centre.
