Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Licheng was released from a forced labour camp in May 2010. One year later he was arrested again, on June 22nd, 2011, and later sent to a forced labour camp for a two-year term.

Mr. Zhang is from the Shijingshan District in Beijing. His mother, brother, and sister are also Falun Gong practitioners and are recognised by their colleagues and neighbours as very good people.

Mr. Zhang's brother was arrested by officers from the Mentougou Police Station in Beijing on July 2nd, 2007, because he was exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to people. He was then sentenced to four years and six months in prison. He is currently in Qianjin Prison in the Chadian District of Beijing. When his brother was arrested, his sister was also arrested and was sentenced to a two-year prison term.

Two plainclothes officers from the Mentougou Police Station arrested Mr. Zhang on the morning of May 20th, 2008. The officers confiscated his computer and printer, and other personal items. He was sentenced to forced labour for a two-year term.

Mr. Zhang returned home from the forced labour camp in May 2010. On June 22nd, 2011, six police officers went to his house and handcuffed him. They beat and kicked him, and dragged him to the police car. After a month, without any reason or any explanation, an officer from the Shijingshan Police Station informed Mr. Zhang's family that he had been sentenced to a two-year forced labour term.
