Huainan City Government and 610 Office Set Up Brainwashing Centre to Persecute Practitioners

Officials from the Huainan City Politics and Law Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) set up a brainwashing centre in the Anhui University of Science and Technology Hotel in August 2011. Officials from the Huainan Public Security Bureau had given orders to the local 610 Offices and the Domestic Security Division to send Falun Gong practitioners to the facility. At least seven practitioners have been persecuted there.

Mr. Zhang Jinguo, an employee of Huainan Internal Revenue Service, and his wife, Ms. Yuan Sucai, were deceived and taken to the brainwashing centre on August 4th. Later on, another practitioner, Ms. Niu Fengyun was arrested by the police and taken to the brainwashing centre in an ambulance.

Officers from the Panji District 610 Office, Panji Domestic Security Division and Tianji Police Station arrested Ms. Nie Daomin on August 15th, and took her to the brainwashing centre.

At around 9:00 a.m. on August 17th, officers from the Xiejiaji District 610 Office, Xiejiaji Domestic Security Division, Caixin Road Police Station and medical staff from Dongfang Hospital arrested Mr. Pan Shugeng. He was taken to the brainwashing centre in an ambulance.

Ms. Fan Fengyun, a employee of the Huainan Coal Mine Machinery Factory, was taken to the brainwashing centre on August 24th.

A male practitioner was taken to the brainwashing centre in an ambulance at around 11:00 a.m. on August 26th.

At the brainwashing centre, Hu Yu and Yang Luling are being paid 100 yuan1 per day to try to force practitioners to renounce their beliefs.
