Zuo Zhongyuan, security head of the Xiaoli community in Chengguan Township, Yunmeng County, led over ten plainclothes police from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Domestic Security Division, and Tiexi Police Station to Mr. Wu Haijin's house at 4:00 p.m. on August 22nd, 2011. They barricaded the front and back doors and kicked hard on the anti-theft door. They shouted, demanding that someone open the door.

Since there was no response from inside the house, they drove away. However, within minutes, they came back again and tried to force the door lock open using various tools. They broke two steel pry bars on the anti-theft door, but still could not open it. Next, they brought a ladder and set the ladder up to reach the second floor of Mr. Wu's house. Four police officers climbed up and entered through a window. The four officers came down the ladder empty handed half an hour later. After they removed the ladder, four officers remained behind to watch Mr. Wu's front and back door. According to witnesses, all the entrances and exits of the residential area were watched by plainclothes police, and every police officer in the area was in plainclothes that day.

The area residents condemned the police. While they were trying to kick Mr. Wu's door down, neighbours told them that no one was home. While they were illegally breaking into the house by entering through the window, the children in the crowd said loudly, “Why do the police always break into people's homes whenever they want to?!” When the police came back out through the windows, the residents condemned them, saying, “You didn't even close the windows! What if it rains?” Some residents openly expressed their sympathy for Mr. Wu.

Four officers stayed to watch Mr. Wu's house on the evening of August 22nd. They also used torches to check on the neighbouring area and did not leave until midnight.

Mr. Wu Haijin lives in Anzhi Residential Area of Chengguan Township, in Yunmeng County. According to the residents, Mr. Wu was arrested by police from the Yunmeng County Domestic Security Division, Tiexi Police Station in 2004 and was released from Yunmeng County Detention Centre nine days later. The police have since frequently monitored his house. Mr. Wu's house has been empty for eight years. No one knows where he went. Some residents said that on July 20th, 2010, Mr. Wu happened to come back home. When he went out, he was almost arrested again, but he was able to walk away.

Reportedly, on August 20th-21st, 2011, some neighbors saw Mr. Wu and his wife returning home. But their whereabouts are not known at this time.
