Mr. Xu Zhiyin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, was arrested by police from the Tianhe District Domestic Security Division on the night of May 22nd, 2010, and was detained at the Tianhe Detention Centre. In June 2011, Judge Liang Hao from the Tianhe District Court sentenced Mr. Xu to five years of imprisonment without notifying his family or his lawyer. Mr. Xu and his family are currently appealing to the Intermediate Court. Liang Hao has been working with the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) to sentence several Falun Gong practitioners and send them to prison.

Mr. Xu Zhiyin, 44, lives at the Guangdong Province Machinery Institute, 663 Tianhe North, Guangzhou. He was a soldier in the Special Army Unit in Beijing and also was the vice president of a well known logistics company. Mr. Xu started practising Falun Gong in 1999. Prior to that, he suffered from many illnesses that, after he began practicing Falun Gong, all disappeared. At his workplace Mr. Xu is widely considered to be a person of good character and very fair, which is why he was quickly promoted to vice president.

Tianhe 610 Office agents ransacked Mr. Xu's house and took away many valuable personal belongings including a diamond ring, a jade pendant, and cash. They did not let the family know where Mr. Xu was being held. Only after an exhaustive search, did the family finally learn that he was in the Tianhe Detention Centre.

Because Mr. Xu exposed the truth about the Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong, he was sentenced to forced labour for one year in 2001 and was detained for three months in 2005. He was threatened with being broiled alive in a brick kiln while he was at Sichuan Forced Labour Camp.

Personnel involved in the persecution of Mr. Xu:

Lin Sailong, Tianhe District Judicial and Law Committee head
Wu Yusheng, Tianhe District Police Department head
Zhang Wenjian, 610 Office head
Xu Qingsong and Xu Dongming, Domestic Division heads
Huang Wuchang, Tianhe Detention Centre head
Liang Hao, Tianhe District Court judge
