Mr. Ju Zaibin was born in Dedu County, Heilongjiang in December 1972. He graduated with a bachelor's degree and worked in Jiamusi Power Plant as an assistant engineer.

Mr. Ju was the oldest son of four siblings. He was very mature at a young age, and took care of his younger siblings. After Mr. Ju started practising Falun Gong, he lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance, and was well respected by his managers and colleagues.

On July 20th, 1999, Mr. Ju took a train to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was arrested by the Beijing police and was escorted first back to Changchun City, then to Harbin City and finally to the Jiamusi police department.

Management at the power plant often pressured Mr. Ju to give up his belief, but he firmly refused. They then tried to get his father to persuade him, but his father eventually gave up trying when he realised his son's strong belief.

In July 2002, Mr. Ju was reported to the police and was later sentenced to three years in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp. He was also fired from the power plant.

Mr. Ju was handcuffed to heating pipes shortly after he arrived at the camp. Guard Guo Gang and others threatened him to try to get him to give up his belief.

During the first four months in the camp, Mr. Ju was subjected to forced brainwashing day and night. Under a guard's instructions, an inmate kicked him viciously in the chest, which caused him to have difficulty breathing.

Guards and inmates at the camp started a wave of brainwashing sessions on November 9th, 2002. They were enticed with large bonuses, promotions, or prison term reductions if they managed to force practitioners to renounce their belief. Practitioners were divided into groups and detained in a room in turn. They were forced to sit on a small stool with both hands on their knees. They were not allowed to move or talk and were forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. The guards and inmates surrounded the practitioners while holding sticks or electric batons. The practitioner would be immediately beaten or shocked if they made the slightest move.

At around 11 p.m., Mr. Ju was dragged to the No. 7 Cell. Several practitioners were detained there. They had been deprived of sleep for several days and had been tortured. Mr. Guo Yuzhu had black eyes and his face was deformed; Mr. Gui Yuexin was handcuffed to a bed after being brutally beaten; Mr. Jing Guanglin had broken teeth as a result of being beaten. The guards handcuffed Mr. Ju to a metal bed with both hands behind his back, and forced him to sit on a small, uneven, plastic stool. Liang Jingui, one of the most vicious inmates, started to torture him.

Liang Jingui said to Mr. Ju, “I heard that you work at a power plant and were a college graduate. I specialise in dealing with college graduates.” He then kicked him hard in the chest, knocking him to the ground.

Division head Liu Hongguang, team leader Guo Gang, and two other guards dragged Mr. Ju to the No.11 cell, where there were no other practitioners present. They handcuffed him to a bed again, with both hands behind his back. Inmates Wang Hongwei, Sun Zhisong and Liang Jingui were assigned to torture him. Mr. Ju was forced to sit on an uneven plastic stool for five days, and was not allowed to move or sleep, otherwise he would be beaten with sticks, or they would throw cold water over him or burn his face with cigarette butts. They inserted cigarette butts into his nostrils and put snow on his neck. He had also been shocked with several electric batons simultaneously.

Another wave of intensive persecution was carried out in late April 2003 in the labour camp. Practitioners were forced to sit on a small stool with both hands on their knees. They were not allowed to move and were forced to sit from 4 a.m. till midnight, sometimes till 2 a.m. When the practitioners were physically and mentally drained, they were taken to a room and pressured to give up their beliefs. If they refused, they would be brutally tortured. Mr. Ju was tortured in this way.

The three years spent in the labour camp seriously affected Mr. Ju's health. His lungs were severely damaged, he had difficulty breathing and continuously coughed. He later died at the age of 38, on November 25th, 2010.
