On December 24th, 2010, Mr. Wang Yu, a 16-year-old practitioner, was taken to a brainwashing centre in Changping District, Beijing and held for thirteen days. He was released on January 5th. At present, he is still being investigated and interrogated by the school staff under orders from the Changping District 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong).

Mr. Wang started practising Falun Gong as a youngster. In his school, he showed his classmates and teachers the greatness of Falun Gong by his actions. At the same time, he told them the facts about Falun Gong and the unprecedented persecution of this spiritual practice. This good 16-year-old student was harassed, detained and forced to undergo brainwashing by the 610 Office.

Falun Gong Books Confiscated

In early December of 2010, Zhao (male), director of the Beijing Electronic Technology Professional School, and Du Tong (female), deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee, ransacked young Mr. Wang's dormitory room while he was in class. Teacher Zhao Lin then told Mr. Wang to return to his dormitory.

Zhao and Du demanded that Mr. Wang open the bag in his cabinet. Mr. Wang refused. Zhao snatched the bag, searched it and then confiscated his personal belongings, including two copies of the Falun Gong book Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong articles and materials. They asked Mr. Wang for the source of his books and threatened to expel him. Mr. Wang Yu said that he had not violated any school rules and asked that his property be returned to him, which they refused.

Two days later, Mr. Wang's teacher Zhao Lin told him to write about his experience of practising Falun Gong. Mr. Wang wrote that Falun Gong teaches people to be kind and how he benefited from practising it. Zhao Lin told him to rewrite his essay, as practising Falun Gong was illegal. Mr. Wang refused. Zhao Lin explained that Zhang Huiqin, director of the Party Committee, and Du Tong demanded that he write negatively about Falun Gong. Instead, Mr. Wang Yu wrote a letter explaining the facts about Falun Gong and submitted it to Zhao Lin, who read it and then gave it to Du Tong.

Mr. Wang Yu Taken to the Brainwashing Centre at Changping District, Huzhuang Village

At 6:00 a.m. on December 24th, 2010, the teacher in charge of the dormitory told Mr. Wang that Du Tong wanted to talk to him and told him to wait for her. One hour later, Du Tong arrived. Before she said anything to Mr. Wang Yu, her mobile phone rang and she was told that a car had arrived. She told Mr. Wang to go to the car and that they would be going to his home to discuss this with his parents. However, they first had to go to the college headquarters, located at Shaoyaoju in Chaoyang District, Beijing. At the Beijing Electronic Technology Professional School headquarters, Zhao Lin, Zhang and Du Tong decided to take Mr. Wang to the brainwashing centre.

The secretary of the Party committee threatened him, "You must go to the brainwashing centre, or you will be expelled. Even if you finish all your courses, you will not graduate." She told him that his parents agreed for him to be taken to the brainwashing centre. Zhao ordered security to arrest him and put him into the car. They took him to the brainwashing centre in Changping District, Huzhuang Village. Sun Aiping from the Changping District Street Committee's 610 Office and others brainwashed him.

Before Mr. Wang's arrest, teachers from the Beijing Electronic Technology Professional School and staff from the local 610 Office told his family that if he refused to go to the brainwashing centre, he would be taken to a detention centre, sentenced to an eight-year prison term and expelled from school.

Mr. Wang Yu and Classmates Brainwashed

The brainwashing session, set up by the Changping 610 Office for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, was held at a farmer's home in Huzhuang Village. There were several rooms. Mr. Wang was brainwashed in one room and slept in another room.

Mr. Wang was forced to watch DVDs slandering Falun Gong. Qi, director of the Changping 610 Office, Sun Aiping, Liang Xueyu and Liu forced him to write that he would renounce Falun Gong.

All of Mr. Wang's classmates, more than 40 students, were brainwashed and forced to slander Falun Gong and its founder Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Automation Engineering College Staff Harass Mr. Wang

On January 5th, after the winter vacation and the Chinese New Year, Mr. Wang was finally released. During the winter vacation, Su Bo, director of the Automation Engineering College, Du Tong, Zhang, Bai Yu and others harassed his family.

Upon his return on February 22nd at the beginning of the new semester, Du Tong interrogated Mr. Wang and asked him if he had been in contact with any practitioners after he was released. She even asked him to join the Chinese Communist Party Youth League.

Bai Yu and Wang Jixin again searched Mr. Wang's dormitory room. Personnel from the Changping District 610 Office told Mr. Wang, "You have to report to us if you see any practitioners. You can get 2,000 yuan1 for turning in each practitioner." Mr. Wang and his family requested that he no longer live in the dormitory, but they refused because they wanted to monitor him.
