In early March Jiamusi Prison informed Mr. Fu Yu's family that Mr. Fu was eligible for medical parole, but there was a condition attached. Mr. Fu Yu's brother was asked to sign a statement that accused Mr. Fu Yu of having committed a crime. He refused to sign it, and told them that Mr. Fu Yu is a good person.

On March 21st, Mr. Fu Yu's brother was allowed to see him. Mr. Fu was emaciated and reported blood pressure of 240. When asking for his brother's release, he got the run around. Zeng Ming, chief of the 7th prison district and Li, instructor, said, “He can't be released without signatures from the Changan police chief and the policeman who's in charge of your brother.” As reported in a earlier article, these two refused to allow Mr. Yu back into Changan prison because they don't want to be held responsible if anything should happen to him.

On March 24th, Mr. Fu's brother went to see Zhao Yubin, chief of the criminal tribunal of Xiang Yang court, asking for a copy of the official verdict, telling him about Fu Yu's health condition from torture. He also told Yiang that the prison authorities want Mr. Fu Yu to receive medical parole, as they fear being held responsible for his deteriorating health condition. Also, the Changan police station refused to take him back, so he is requesting the unconditional release of Mr. Fu Yu. Zhao Yubin said, "Whatever the prison wants, we already gave them. Five copies of the verdict were given to Mr. Fu, therefore you need to ask the prison for them!"

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) court sentenced Mr. Fu to a five year prison term for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was arrested in August 2009 and taken to Jiamusi prison. Jiamusi Prison recently established a “strict management team” for more intensive abuse of Falun Gong prisoners. Beginning on February 21st, 2011 all practitioners in Jiamusi Prison were put under the control of the strict management team, including Mr. Fu.

Within two weeks days, three practitioners were tortured to death. On February 26th, 47-year old practitioner Mr. Qin Yueming was persecuted to death, On March 5th, practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang, 48, was also persecuted to death. Then, just three days later, on March 8th, practitioner Mr. Liu Chuangjiang was persecuted to death.

After exposing the practitioners' deaths on the Internet, Jiamusi Prison, under pressure from society and international public opinion, disbanded the strict management team on March 9th.

None of the practitioners were released, but returned to the prison districts they had come from before taken to Jiamusi prison.
