Ms. Wang Cuilan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Shandong province, suffered cruel persecution in a forced labour camp, which resulted in her suffering central facial paralysis and other diseases. After being released she was frequently harassed and monitored by the officers from the forced labour camp. Ms. Wang Cuilan passed away on January 24th, 2011 due to the cruel persecution, at the age of sixty-eight.

Ms. Wang Cuilan and her husband Mr. Wang Xiaozeng resided in Cangjie Village, Weizi Town, Changyi County, Weifang City. They began practising Falun Gong in 1996. Since July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been slandering Falun Gong. Having benefited personally from the practice, Ms. Wang Cuilan went to Beijing to clarify the truth that the CCP's claims against Falun Gong and its founder Mr. Li Hongzhi are false. Subsequently, Ms. Wang suffered repeated persecution from the CCP. Her home was ransacked, she was extorted and fined, and put into a brainwashing class, a detention centre, and a forced labour camp, where she was tortured and mistreated in various ways. Her husband Mr. Wang Xiaozeng was sent to a labour camp twice.

Without any reason, Ms. Wang Cuilan and her husband Mr. Wang Xiaozeng were arrested on the night of December 19th, 2005 by Chen Xiaodong and other officers from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Changyi County. At that time Mr. Wang Xiaozeng had just been released from a three-year prison sentence.

Because of the cruel persecution in prison, Ms. Wang Cuilan suffered high blood pressure, central facial paralysis and other diseases. On July 2006, the forced labour camp notified Ms. Wang’s family to take her home. And still, the ruthless officers from the local police station kept harassing Ms. Wang Cuilan, a 68-year-old woman, until she passed away on January 24th, 2011.
