One of the officers was Xu Yong. After enduring serious beatings, he was imprisoned in the Chaoyang Detention Centre in Beijing. He is currently on the verge of death, but the police still refuse to release him.

Liu Yujian is a teacher who specialises in helping students with college entrance exams outside of the regular school system. After he was arrested, his students could not receive a scheduled exam that was required for college entrance. This has harmed Mr. Liu and his family, and also disrupted the lives of many students and their families.

Liu Yujian was born in Xinjiang Province. He is a kind and selfless person, and well respected in the community for his work. When Mr. Liu was arrested this time, he was busy preparing an exam for his students. The date for the exam was scheduled to be November 11th.

On October 28th, four policemen from the Chaoyang District Police Department, along with Xu Yong, broke into Liu Yujian's office in the Ziyuan Hotel of Peking University. They pushed him to the ground and injured his face. They searched the computer in his office and could not find anything illegal. They still took away the computer and some personal property. Liu Yujian was sent to the Chaoyang Detention Centre.

According to insiders, more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by Chaoyang District Police Bureau on October 28th.

After his arrest, Liu Yujian started a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was force-fed for more than 10 days. This has caused Mr. Liu to develop high blood pressure, heart problems, and stomach ulcers. He is on the verge of death, but the police still refuse to release him.

Since the Chinese Communist Party started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Liu Yujian has been arrested four times and sentenced to forced labour camps three times. In March 2001, he was arrested by the Haidian District Police Department and sentenced to two years in Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing. He was released in March, 2003. In 2005, Liu Yujian started to teach a class in the MBA program at the University of Science and Technology in Beijing. At the same time, he started a cultural development company. On September 30th, 2005, he was arrested by policemen from the Zhongguancun Police Department and sentenced to one month in Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province. On December 4th, 2008, Liu Yujian was again arrested by policemen from the Zhongguancun Police Department. He was sent to Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp once again on February 28th, 2009. After that, he was sent back to Xinjiang Province on April 9th, 2009.

This is the fourth arrest for Mr. Liu. Currently, his wife and parents are extremely worried about him.
