Ms. Wan Xiuying, 64 years old, is from Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. In the past eleven years of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Wan has been detained nine times. The following is part of her ordeal:

Ms. Wan was picked up by police officers on a train on December 7th, 2006. She was then detained at Hailaer Railroad Detention Centre. Shao Jun, Wang Bo, Zou Ling, and Wang Aihua from the Domestic Security Team of Tongliao City took Ms. Wan to Tumuji Women's Forced Labour Camp on January 8th, 2007.

Ten days later, Ms. Wan realised that she had been sentenced to three years of forced labour. Prison guards Yang Jie, Li Chunlei, and Qu Qiuhua threatened Ms. Wan, saying "If you refuse to be 'transformed,' [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] you will never get out of here." They then forced her to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. Ms. Wan was under 24-hour surveillance. Under the intense pressure, Ms. Wan exhibited signs of sickness, such as high blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and a potassium deficiency.

Guard Zhou Guoling and Mu, a camp doctor, planned to take Ms. Wan to the hospital for a physical on June 2nd, 2008. Ms. Wan refused to go. Zhou Guoling pulled Ms. Wan and punched her on the left side of her chest. He then called a thug named Hu Hongbo over. The three of them pushed Ms. Wan to the ground and forced her to give a fingerprint. Zhou Guoling covered Ms. Wan's mouth and almost suffocated her. The torture made Ms. Wan suffer from cramps, choking, and palpitations. She crumpled up on the floor.

Visitors were due to visit the forced labour camp on June 28th, 2009. At 2:00 p.m., all the practitioners were pushed against the wall behind the building. Ms. Wan refused to leave her room. Guards Liu Qihua, Yang Jie, and thug Hu Hongbo came to remove her. Ms. Wan shouted, "Falun Gong is good!" Hu Hongbo stuffed a dirty cloth into her mouth. They dragged her out and ended up hiding her on the fourth floor. They did not allow the practitioners to return until 6:00 p.m.

On August 17th, 2009, while Ms. Wan was waiting for lunch, team leader Qu Qiuhua ordered somebody to take away her bench. Then guard Zhou Guoling cursed her up and down. Everyone had to listen to Zhou for half an hour before they were allowed to eat.

At 2:00 p.m. on November 19th, 2009, the Tumuji City Discipline Inspection Committee came to talk with inmates whose terms were up. When Ms. Wan was called in, Zhou Guoling went in and called out the person from the discipline inspection committee. Five minutes later, the person came back and said to Ms. Wan, "You are not 'transformed' yet. We are not going to talk to you anymore. You can go back now."
