On June 25th, 2010, Ms. Fan and several other Falun Gong practitioners were telling people the facts about Falun Gong in Huairen County, when they were arrested by policemen from the Huairen Police Department. That afternoon, Niu Quanxi and Sun Wenlong from the Domestic Security Division of the Datong City Police Department took Ms. Fan and five other Falun Gong practitioners to Nanguan Police Station in Datong. They were then sent to Chenzhuang Detention Centre in Datong later that night. At the detention centre, Ms. Fan went on a hunger strike; after about half a month, she was sent to Shanxi Province Women's Labour Camp. At the forced labour camp, authorities tried to force Ms. Fan to sign a "transformation letter¹," and the guards did not allow her to sleep for seven days straight.

Ms. Fan used to have many illnesses, and there were conflicts within her family. After she started to practice Falun Gong, she became healthy and was able to harmonise those conflicts. Since the Chinese Communist Party began the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Fan has been arrested more than once. A few years ago, she was arrested by the Datong City Police Department, and they extorted ten thousand yuan² from her family.

Presently, Ms. Fan has her eighty-year-old mother and disabled brother living at her home. Her husband works in another province, and the family is in misery.
