Dai Qihong, a Good Policeman, Tortured with Electric Batons in Jiamusi Prison

While imprisoned in Jiamusi Prison on August 18th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dai Qihong refused to participate in hard labour in order to protest how terribly he was being treated. Subsequently, Wang Yantao, leader of the 3rd Brigade in the 1st Prison Area, ordered inmates to beat him. Later, they dragged Mr. Dai to the workshop and used electric batons to shock sensitive areas of his body. Mr. Dai's mouth was injured from the electric batons. He is in very serious condition and cannot eat. More details are forthcoming.

Mr. Dai was previously a civil servant in Mudanjiang Prison and a policeman. He is kind, always happy to help others, and was recognised as a key production technical worker. Mr. Dai was reported to authorities by a soldier on August 3rd, 2008. Mr. Dai had handed out information that explained the facts about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officials from the Mudanjiang 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and police station, then sentenced to five years in prison.

Mudanjiang Prison officials took Mr. Dai to the 4th Brigade, 2nd Prison Area, Lianjiangkou Prison, Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province, on July 3rd, 2009. His activities are currently monitored by two inmates.
