By a Falun Dafa Practitioner from Ukraine

The Chinese Embassy is spreading lies and using diplomatic pressure to deceive citizens, the police force, and the government of the Ukraine about Falun Gong. The following examples illustrate their most recent illegal activities.

We obtained permission to hold a photo exhibition called "The Peaceful Journey of Falun Dafa" in the City of Chelkasi, May 24 through May 26. After the Chinese Embassy protested, representatives from the Ukraine Security Department came to the Exhibition Hall and told us not to display those pictures that exposed the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. We hung up all the pictures and completed our preparations before leaving. A while later we returned to the Exhibition Hall and found all the pictures had been taken down. The next day we received a notice saying that the person in charge of the Exhibition Hall was away on business, and we could not have our pictures back until May 28.

While the Chinese President was visiting the Ukraine, May 22 to May 24, an informal order was issued to stop Falun Dafa practitioners from approaching the Chinese Embassy, to stop anyone wearing yellow within sight of the Chinese Delegation, and to stop anyone passing out flyers. Anyone disobeying the order would be detained for 15 days. On May 23, two Falun Dafa practitioners were sitting on a bench in the public park opposite the Chinese Embassy. One practitioner wore a yellow T-shirt displaying the three Chinese characters "Zhen-Shan-Ren." (Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance) Instantly someone from the Ukraine Department of Security sat down right next to him on the bench. When he was ready to leave, two police officers came up and suggested that he go to the police station. This practitioner was a student of the Police College in Ukraine. Therefore, over the next couple of days he told the truth about Falun Dafa repeatedly to his classmates and to the police officials. One officer said to him, "I respect you, since your activities are always legal, and what you do is all based on your belief."

On May 24, a female Falun Dafa practitioner was sitting on a bench in the park opposite the Chinese Embassy. A policeman came up to her. Calmly, this practitioner clarified the truth to him. This policeman finally said, "Now, I know the truth, and I will also make it known to my colleagues."

In the northern City of Novgrod, we planned to play Mr Li Hongzhi's (the founder of Falun Dafa) lecture videotapes at the Medical College. At the last minute, the dean of the college refused our application because he got a letter from the local education bureau. We made a copy of the letter. In the letter there was a sentence reading, "all schools are prohibited from supporting Falun Gong activities," followed by direct quotations of the slanderous and smearing propaganda against Falun Gong distributed by the Chinese Embassy.

Every day this spring, one or two Falun Dafa practitioners went to the Chinese Embassy to do Fa Zheng Nian [Ed. Note – A particular form of meditation]. They sat for ten to fifteen minutes on a bench in the public park opposite the Chinese Embassy. Soon, Chinese Embassy officials started exerting pressure upon the security guards around the Embassy to have us driven away. Those guards asked us not to go to the Embassy again since the complaints from the Embassy had already resulted in deductions from their wages. Finally, guards illegally arrested three Falun Dafa practitioners. At the police station, the practitioners learned about the "agreement" between China and the Ukraine. Anyone wearing a yellow T-shirt, handing out materials, or practicing Falun Gong around the Embassy would be arrested. (Such an agreement had never been publicly issued.)

In Donietsk State, the City Administration Office of Kramadorsk declared that the Chinese Embassy had sent them a letter recommending the prohibition of Falun Gong in Ukraine. After meeting with an officer in the Department of Registration of Social Organizations, we learned that the Chinese Embassy had sent a letter of "introduction" to the Judicial Department of Ukraine. The letter suggested that the government of Ukraine not register any Falun Gong organizations, and spread a lot of slanderous propaganda.

Using diplomatic means and his financial influence overseas, China's dictator attempts to impose his ill will on foreign citizens and governments. This is not acceptable according to the common practices of law and moral standards. We should strive to make things even more convenient for governments and people, and give them a chance to know the truth of Falun Gong and the truth of the cruel persecution of Falun Gong by the Jiang regime.
