On August 2nd, 2010, Mei Kebao, the deputy head of Hunan Province Communist Party Committee, led a group to visit Taiwan. At the Yuanshan Hotel where they were staying, Mei Kebao received a letter in person from the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan. The letter urges them to stop the persecution on Falun Gong.

According to Falun Gong practitioner who delivered the letter, Mei Kebao was told that there was a letter for him. When he received the letter, he couldn't wait to open it, but for some reason he couldn't open it at that moment. The practitioner told him that it was alright and that he could take it with him and open it later. Mei Kebao indicated that he would definitely read it through.

Mr. Chang Ching-hsi, the director of the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan, said that Falun Gong practitioners, with the heart and faith of saving people, wish a good future to all living things and hope that the Chinese Communist Party's culprits and criminals who persecute Falun Gong will be indicted by international courts of justice. Until then, those who have participated in persecuting Falun Gong still have chance to redeem their crimes.

The letter demands an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong, the release of all Falun Gong practitioners who are being illegally detained, and lists major persecution events that took place in China's Hunan Province. For example: In 2005, 535 family members of practitioners in Hunan signed and sent a petition to the United Nations about the persecution of Falun Gong; in 2006, 2500 relatives jointly signed a public letter to reveal to the world the tortures that the practitioners suffered in Baimalong Forced Labor Camp; in 2004, World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) announced the crimes by Yang Zhengwu (former head of Hunan Province Party Committee), Zhang Yunchuan (the former head of Hunan) and also including others that were listed; in 2006, the People's Hospital of Hunan Province claimed that they would do liver or kidney transplants for 20 people for free, and according to the WOIPFG, several forced labor camps in this province are suspected of taking Falun Gong practitioners' organs.

Mei Kebao is from Changde, Hunan. He became the deputy head of Hunan Province Party Committee in November 2006. During the period between February 1999 and November 2006 when the persecution of Falun Gong was the most severe, he was successively the head of Hengyang City Party Committee and Changsha City Party Committee being the top head of these two cities.
