Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Jiuliang, from Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, is being persecuted in the Shayang City Fanjiatai Prison. He is so emaciated that his body looks deformed. He is 1.8 metres tall (5ft-11in), but weights only around 110 pounds. He was forced by the persecutors to swallow over ten unknown drugs, and he is now on the verge of the death. The police continue to cruelly taunt him and have said, "You still want to get out of here? No doubt you will die here!"

Zhang Jiuliang began practising Falun Gong around July 20th, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party started the illegal persecution. Since then he has been arrested, detained and persecuted five times by agents from the local National Security team and 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong).

On September 19th, 2009, a group of thugs, led by policeman Li Zhenggang from the local National Security Team, broke into and ransacked his home. Mr. Zhang was subsequently detained in the Shayang City Detention Centre. Due to persecution his blood pressure rose very high and he has become very weak. After four months of interrogation he was sentenced to a seven-year prison term, and sent to Shayang Fanjiatai Prison.

Three days after being imprisoned Zhang Jiuliang was taken to the prison hospital. He was closely monitored by two death-row convicts for 24 hours, and was not able to move around. The convicts took his blood pressure twice a day and he was force-fed ten unknown psychotropic drugs. He was not allowed to know his blood pressure or the name of the drugs. He was also not allowed to talk or change his prison uniform for over a month.
