Ms. Ding Zhenfang from Dalian City, Liaoning Province has been subjected to severe abuse at Dabei Women's Prison in Shenyang City. She is currently in critical condition. Her husband and other family members went to visit her on July 22nd despite heavy rain. When they arrived, the prison officials refused to allow them to visit her. The reason given was, "Ding Zhenfang is in poor health, and not in suitable condition for visitation."

Ms. Ding is being detained in Ward Nine. Former ward head Li Heqiao was promoted, and the current head Wu and team head Hu recently graduated and are on a probationary period at the prison.

Ms. Ding was transferred on July 15th, 2008 from the Yaojia Detention Centre in Dalian City to Dabei Women's Prison in Shenyang. Her husband and other family members have tried five times to visit her, but only once was her husband allowed to visit her. During his visitation he saw that Ms. Ding was emaciated, and her teeth were nearly all gone. This time, when Ms. Ding's family requested to see her, Wu and Hu denied their visitation, and said that her husband could only leave his telephone number, and that they would inform them when Ms. Ding's health improved.

Ms. Ding has been subjected to persecution four times since the persecution started on July 20th, 1999. She has been detained in prison for seven years, but she has never given up her belief in Falun Gong.

Ms. Ding's family hopes that practitioners inside and outside China will help rescue her and demand her immediate release from prison.
